I'm against any so called "balance changes" on piranha or carnifex. Primarily because of this:

Nerfing light weight weapons only trully hurts classes that rely heavily on cooldowns, and since powers aren't as damaging as weapons, they'll only be left further behind.

I did not see this topic earlier. Thanks for making it!

I voted on both polls, they both don't need to be nerfed!

@ Bioware:

Like many here, I have played MP regularly since the demo. Please check your logs and take what I say next as a friendly clue:
  • Please DO NOT nerf the Piranha and the Carnifex. Instead, do something about the classes that unfairly benefit from these weapons the most (i.e: Piranha on the GI, Destroyer, etc).
  • Please buff other shotguns (Disciple) and pistols a bit more so that these are not the ones most folks flock to. Although the Locust buff was incredibly late it was also much needed and appreciated. Please build on this trend and not the other way around.
  • Nerfing these guns even more will not earn favors with me and most of the friends on my list. Please choose wisely.

Those actually seem quite reasonable. I would perfectly fine with those balance changes.

Edit: Accidently quoted the wrong person. In response to Eric Fagnan.

Clip size reduction in the Piranha makes sense.

Carnifex weight nerf makes me lol.

Leave them as they are, the proposed nerfs will not do anything to stop people 'overusing' them and more severe nerfs will kill the weapons entirely.

The OPistols have been overpowered a bit since launch actually. The Paladin more-so which is why they gave it the weird capacity nerf.

Piranha is also overpowered relative to most shotguns in the game. If you don't realize this, I can't help you because you don't understand balance.

Both of these weapons only need some slight tweaks. It would also be nice if they would take care of some of the "woeful" weapons while they are at it.

No, no it's not.

Claymore has a longer effective range.
Reegar does higher DPS in CQC
GPS is better overall, hits multiple targets and has an innate stagger, also is basically a sniper. (Only downside is host-dependency)
Graal, see GPS, minus innate stagger/multiple-target-hitting
Wraith has a longer effective range

If you think the Piranha genuinely and objectively outclasses most shotguns in the game, you need to L2play and YOU don't understand balance.

That is not bad in my humble opinion, actually seems fair.

I'm wondering if devs were planning to change more things and when they saw the comunity's reaction they changed the balancing.

Your list is laughable.

Claymore is great with reload canceling, but does not out DPS the Piranha.  And Claymore weighs more as in twice as much.

Reegar has crap range, even worse effective range than the Piranha.

"GPS is better overall..." There's proof, the gun that many considered one of the most overpowered weapons originally.  In reality if you are off host the tracking doesn't work and this gun only marginally beats DPS of the Piranha sustained and loses to single clip.  What it does have is a higher stagger chance.  Good against Phantoms I suppose.  But the Piranha is markedly lighter (0.9 vs 1.4 at X).

Graal is excellent for headshotting across the map.  It is way behind Piranha in DPS (as in half the DPS) and has identical weight to the GPS, which is a lot more than Piranha.

Wraith is an ultra rare with a 2 shot clip that is vastly inferior in the DPS department.

Maybe you should learn what you are talking about before you post instead of spouting off "learn to play" crap.

These nerfs aren't bad. But clearly aren't needed and I'm still against any nerfing of these guns at this point. Stop nerfing what's popular BW.

Carnifex X will weigh as much as a Paladin X. That is not cool in my opinion..

I still think buffing the many weapons that are very substandard would be a better way to approach this.

Buffing creates choice and variety and makes people happy, nerfing always angers some, if not many and only creates variety by reducing choice.

These nerfs are entirely character-centric.

Just because one weapon performs well on two characters that are weapon-based does mean they are inherently OP. Piranhas are not efficient on most characters in the game; I feel these balances are being forced upon us due to the weapon's efficiency of use on Destroyers and Geth Hunters.

Personally I do think that Piranha and the Canifex are excellent as they are. I don't mind some Enemy buffs.

One of these days, I would love to see more Humorous A.I. actions. Just because it would be funny.

I was looking for the "do not use" option, but there wasn't one.

So I just didn't answer =C
