Kicking Level 1 Characters?

Sorry to shout but I just had to get that out.
I stopped promoting characters until the challenge a while back. Now i'm doing it a lot which means i'm often playing Level 1 characters. So I drop my difficulty to bronze to compensate & look for a game. And what happens I get players i've never met before with N7's only in double figures wanting to kick me because i only have a level 1 character.
Has this happened to anyone else recently?
If you're reading this & you are tempted to kick a level 1 character check their N7 rank first (my N7 is somewhere in the 900's). It's no guarantee they are good but likelihood is a high ranked player is not going to struggle with a level 1 character because they have more experience & better weapons & equipment. I'm not the greatest gamer but i have taken level 1 characters into bronze missions with a team of characters at level 17-19 and N7's only in double figures & I came first in the end.
Besides all this how are new players supposed to get a game & get the experience they need if they keep getting kicked? I know this isn't a charity but you were all noobies with level 1 characters once.
Give level 1 characters a chance - they may surprise you.

Most people tend to forget very quickly that they too were newbies once.

Did it occur to you that they wanted other newbies to play with? Not some guy blowing everything up with weapon Xs and gear 5s?

You shouldn't have had any problem taking that on silver. Or you could start your own lobby, jump straight into the match and wait for other players to join you. That way you won't get kicked.

Considering how Silver/Bronze is easily soloed if required, you really can't justify kicking someone from them.

I don't care what your level is, what the N7 is, what weapons you have, or anything else. You're always welcome in my games.

I am sure this is true, but this really says more about you than about him.

I play my Lv1 characters only with friends. You're just a burden in PUG/P otherwise.

A lvl1 with harrier V and lvl4 consumables and lvl5 gears has lower dps than a lvl20 with a non-maxed out uncommon weapon without any consumables?

In my team were a level 20 engineer, a level 20 adept and a level 18 soldier.
I outscored all of them by over 25k, had revives in the double figures and completed the final objective wave on my own after some Banshee instakills took out two of my team mates.
A player who's level 1 but knows what they're doing can quite easily be more effective than a level 20 who doesn't.

I only kick for being AWOL or for being offensive over the mic (trolling or playing music).

I'm not that great a player so if I was playing gold, and a low N7 person comes in wth a lvl1 character, I'm gonna kick because I can't carry them, and none of the Gold PUGS i've been in have had any awesome players who can finish gold matches solo. If it was a lvl1 character with a reasonably hight N7 and high spec weapons and fully geared up, I'd prob leave them alone and hope they are ninja players. Neitehr situation has happened yet.
On bronze and silver, would only kick for reasons you mentioned above.
OP - cant believe they kicked you out of bronze, that's beyond ridiculous.

See I got no beef with this. You changed your difficulty setting to something more approprate for your characters level and then tried to play. If they are booting you out of a bronze match for being lvl 1 then they might as well have made it a private match cause they are just thugs who dont understand 1+1=2.masleslie wrote...

That being said I am still really iffy on lvl 1's being tossed into gold and plat. I do understand that there are some really really great players out there and then there is me, who is by no means the best out there. Heck I would be being nice to myself by saying I am average. I can solo bronze and silver if I am in the mood for it but I prefer team support in gold and plat. And I rarely play those because of the amount of crying people do when you have something other than a cookie-cutter damage build for any toon. I hold my own and solo a few waves no doubt but that doesnt make me that good.
Anyways off track there for a second.
Having a lvl 1 in those higher difficulties is very hit or miss. On one hand you could be a super awesome player like billy or you could be as bad as the twilight movies were to true vampires and werewolves. You just cant tell in PUGs. N7 ranking means squat to me. I have out scored people who have 3 times my N7 and been out scored by someone who had half my N7. I personally prefer having a teammate who has at least some points invested in a build and a few powers to help slow down the kung-fu grip of death than a lvl 1 who doesnt have those options.
Do I hate lvl 1s? Nope. I just dont like the uncertainty they provide in higher difficulties for PUGs. Its not a good time if I have to break cover to rez your booty cause your shields are tissue paper compaired to a husks haymaker.

Well, if you're level 1 with a locust I can understand them as you have no power to speak of and your damage output will be low. But if you compensate your low level with a powerful weapon and some gear/consumables, then you shouldn't get the boot. If you're skilled enough, go straight for silver. If possible host your game with at least one friend so you won't get kicked, or join a friend's lobby.masleslie wrote...

edit: I just had a look at your manifest. Those guys are morons and it's no wonder you topped a bronze game with the URs you have. Skip bronze altogether.

The only time I've gotten a kick vote (other than showing up in a gold lobby by accident with a low level character and bad weapons or getting stuck on the load screen), was showing up in a random lobby and two kicks appeared. I keyed the mic and said, "and why?" No response. The host, obviously not one of the kick votes, said everyone needed to play nice. And we had a nice match. The kick voters left after that and we had several more nice matches with their replacements.
The good news is that your experience is not common and maybe you won't ever experience it again.
