I am resigned to getting kicked for random reasons, if one person doesn't want me in their squad, I leave. If a person on level 1 joins, good for him, its great to have new players. I wouldn't join a gold or platinum match with a bunch of level 1's but I wouldn't quit if they came in after me.

A lot of people seemt o be missing that this was on bronze. There's no excuse for kicking based on level or loadout in bronze. Sure, kick for being a ****waffle on the mic or taking ages to ready up. But where are people supposed to level up if they can't do it in bronze?

I was a level 1 Krogan Soldier in Reapers, London on Silver.

In my team were a level 20 engineer, a level 20 adept and a level 18 soldier.

I outscored all of them by over 25k, had revives in the double figures and completed the final objective wave on my own after some Banshee instakills took out two of my team mates.

A player who's level 1 but knows what they're doing can quite easily be more effective than a level 20 who doesn't.

Uh-huh ... a level 1 Krogan Soldier with a high level Harrier (for example) isn't much weaker than a level 20 Krogan Soldier with a high level Harrier ... only difference is a little bit of surivability and Incendiary grenades.

After a "promote all the things" weekend event I ran a gold/reapers game with 2 level 1 Kroldiers, a level 1 AV and a level 12 Phoenix Adept ... needless to say the number 1 and 2 slots on the scoreboard belonged to the Krogan... MRRRrraaaAAAAAWWWWW!

Kicking a level 1 character on bronze is pathetic. Bronze was meant for low level characters to level up. If you can host your lobby; in my experience no one kicks the host unless he/she goes AFK.

As to those who would not kick a level 1 from gold; every time I let a level 1 into gold, that person has been a liability. No matter the load out or character. Maybe it is different on the PC, but on Xbox there is a lot of players not ready for Gold filling my lobbies expecting to be carried.

Play with lvl 1 with friends. Stay out of PUGs with lvl1s if you don't want to see kicks.Very simple.

Or alternatively,

Join a PUG with 3 friends and kick the high rated 4th player for being an elitist?

Or alternatively,

Chill out and go with the flow. B) So what if you all die on wave 5. You have fun watching them become toast, and they gain some experience.

I've been gaming for longer than most on the forum have been alive, and I can tell you that with age, comes the ability to chill the **** out :)

I started the mp a week ago. The community on xbox live has been pretty good so far. However i can understand not wanting to play bronze with a player with an N7 rating close to 1000 even a level one. Not because he will suck, but the opposite. In many matches where this has happened to me, those players just cleaned house with upgraded cerberus harrier´s and geth shotguns and smg´s and a ton of equipment. I never kick anyone unless they´re really disruptive but damn its annoying lol

Either way sometimes people can be jerks. I was kicked lots of times on left4dead for no reason and on the ps3 in payday: the heist people always kicked lower level players on normal and easy difficulty! Like i said, lots of jerks!

I absolutely hate it when, I am hosting a game and someone appears in my lobby and kicks someone who is already in my lobby that's a level 1 regardless of N7 rank. My N7 is only just under 400(I don't promote except for challenges) and the last time I took a my level 1 QFI on a bronze game with no equipment or consumables, I was top of the score broad. I have also been in a game where someone below N7 100 and a level 4 character whooped my level 20 QFI on a silver game. I have no problem playing with low level people, because I am a low/mid level player, and I think N7 and character level especially on lower difficulties dose not matter as much as player ability, and if they are not as good as you help them learn, if they are better then you be willing to take some tips from them.

There are a lot of characters that I'm still trying to get the hang of, for example the Asari adept (dunno why i'm so rubbish using her) so i often go to bronze matches to try to get better with her, but there are too many high N7s in there smashing things up so quickly that there's nothing left for me to put in stasis! So I have to go to silver and and just be the worst player.

Yeah, kicking in bronze is beyond stupid, although I'm sorry to say that none of the people that ever have or ever will kick you in bronze will EVER read this thread, or these forums in general, because... well, they're noobs.

The only reason why I'd vote to kick people is when they take ages to ready up.
And kicking level 1 in bronze is just... weird.

L1 characters may still make it harder for the team and for themselves to go through a gold match.
I am sure that there are some experience players that can rock with L1s, with the right choice of weapons/consumables.
I have probably seen 1-2 in PUGs, but a lot more not being able to stay alive long enough (I am not kicking high N7/high level weapons because I am curios how well they do it, for low N7/weapons I know already so it's a kick).

Personally, I don't like to play L1s in gold, not even in silver because they die so easily and have practically no powers and shields.

The solution is very simple and I am surprised people ignore it:
Buy recruit pack.
On pack (62500exp) can level a class first 4 levels, which gives you significant advantages in a game. A few more packs can bring it to level 8, which I consider decent to bring in gold. 1-2 completed games will bring that class to a competitive level.

A LEVEL 1 CHARACTER DOES NOT AUTOMATICALLY MEAN YOU WILL BE A LIABILITY TO YOUR SQUAD!
Sorry to shout but I just had to get that out.

I stopped promoting characters until the challenge a while back. Now i'm doing it a lot which means i'm often playing  Level 1 characters. So I drop my difficulty to bronze to compensate & look for a game. And what happens I get players i've never met before with N7's only in double figures wanting to kick me because i only have a level 1 character.

Has this happened to anyone else recently?

If you're reading this & you are tempted to kick a level 1 character check their N7 rank first (my N7 is somewhere in the 900's). It's no guarantee they are good but likelihood is a high ranked player is not going to struggle with a level 1 character because they have more experience & better weapons & equipment. I'm not the greatest gamer but i have taken level 1 characters into bronze missions with a team of characters at level 17-19 and N7's only in double figures & I came first in the end.

Besides all this how are new players supposed to get a game & get the experience they need if they keep getting kicked? I know this isn't a charity but you were all noobies with level 1 characters once.

Give level 1 characters a chance - they may surprise you.

This is ridiculous on Bronze. I never kick any player on bronze, that's just a rude thing to do. Where are the new players supposed to go ? Or new characters from veteran players that want to relax when leveling their level's 1 ?
On silver, if someone brings a level 1, i just look at his gear. I think i would vote to kick only if he looks , very, very newbie.

But earlyer this week, some guy with N7 rating of 1, playing a level 1 adept, was into a gold lobby i came into, packing the two default level I weapons.

I voted to kick him. A few sec passed and everyone but me readyed. I started asking over the mic, but then i saw one vote to kick... me.
Guess they were some friends trying to powerlevel a new one; but it was just rude not to talk and ask if i agreed. So i just left.

Why would you get kicked from Bronze for a level 1? Where else are you supposed to go?

But you know what, I've learned that 99% of the time people kick you for whatever reason it's because they're not confident in their own abilities and are looking for someone who can carry them. So don't feel bad, because you'd end up carrying a lobby full of idiots anyway.

I've topped the scoreboards on Gold with a level 1. Skill is all that matters, but since you can't portray your actual skill level in a lobby you have to put up with this crap.

That is the WORST. Before I was confident enough to take anything below 10 to silver, I was in a bronze lobby with my level 8 human soldier. Someone in our lobby was trying to kick a low N7 level 1 player. WTF? Where elese can you TAKE a level 1? I mean, ugh, people are THE WORST.

Glad others hate that as well.

I love the posts that cite N7 ranking as some sort of indicator of skill level. It makes me laugh because I know how mindnumbingly easy it is to artificially inflate that n7 rank without actually playing the game.

Don't come to advanced difficulty games as a level one unless its a lobby of friends. Its a waste of everyones time, including your own. Just don't.

No one takes a chance on level 1's anymore, it simply isn't worth the aggrivation to find that "Diamond in the rough" player who actually knows what they are doing. I don't care if you're n7 rank 100, or 1000.. Anything above bronze, and I don't know you personally, and I'm kicking you out of the lobby.

No, didn't experience something like that.

But Bronze is ridiculously easy, if you're so high ranked.
I'd suggest go in Silver with lvl 1 characters, you'll be fine with all the equipment you have;
and additionally you get more xp's and therefore promote faster.

Kicking gamers in Bronze is preposterous, BTW.

Just solo bronze. Easy. Get to level 5, then solo silver. Easy. Then go back into gold with level 10...

Just use good gear and solo gold. It's not hard if you don't mind a 45 minute match.

There is no reason to kick anyone on any difficulty you can solo.(unless they are annoying)

I promote all the time(n7 4000+) I play level 1 guys a lot. being effective is about gear selection, situational awareness, and proper tactics. This is true for level 1 or 20.

Many thanks for the feedback on this from other players. I've got some things to think about. I never thought about the idea of intimidating lower N7 rankings. I'm normally glad to see a higher ranked player even if i'm resigned to them getting first place because i figure i might learn something. Maybe I shouldn't read my attitudes into others. If I do get kicked simply because i'm a level 1 character at least i don't have to take it personally it seem others think it's unjustified. Maybe i'll even pluck up courage to take my low level characters into silver. Thanks for the support.

If you really think that 900 is "high" you deserved to be kicked. In relation to any average player who promotes regularly, you don't even have enough consumables (5/5/5/5+) to be in a gold lobby. I kick N7 5000s... the games been out for 7 months now. There are people out there that are N7 20,000!

Now kicking on bronze, if that is the case... anyone kicking a level 1 on bronze for any reasons other than something along the lines of known cheater/ leech/ freeing up space for friend, deserves to have their MP removed to they can only play campain.

Kicking people from bronze is stupid. And depending on N7level/gear I probably wouldn't kick a level 1 from silver.

When a guy/girl go to a gold lobby with a level 1 character she/he shouldn't be surprised when getting kicked by the other players.

I see no problem with bronze however....

Don't you gain a lvl everytime you lvl up a character? I mean unless they spent cash and received guns wouldn't a lvl 1 mean it's literally their 1st match? If so they should start on bronze unless they have a babysitter friend.
