Can they were shoes, please??
I thought it was weird that hardly any elf was wearing shoes. The Dalish I can see not wearing shoes (if they not in Ferelden), but city elves? No way. Cities are dirty!
The elves...

City Elves that are not servants of kind masters (and not servants of masters that want to show they can throw money around enough to clothe their feckless slaves in nice threads) are filthy, too. That was the whole point.

I always thought it was weird in DA2 that none of the elves wore shoes, I mean they did in DA:O.

I guess it can work like that.
But, I always had a sense of them not wearing shoes being a design choice.
There was a blog over at DAwiki about this. Even Gaider thought it was silly for not to wear shoes.

In Orlais, I doubt anyone will be without shoes except in bordels and other bedrooms. It's just too opulent there. Day-old shoes would be tossed out the window for any urchin to grab.
Imagine, a pitiful, little orphan in decadent high-heels that are far too tall for anyone to wear, much less him.
Did I say him? Yes. Yes I did.
Madness? THIS IS ORLAIS!

why is it that will all the issues that are presented by the elves, shoes and anorexia seem the most important to people? i'd much rather talk about whether the Dalish are on the verge of being wiped out, or suddenly amassing strength in numbers instead of wandering in disporic tribes. whether there's a mass slave revolt going on in the Imperium, possibly fueled by Qunari influence. if some of the alienages had become more progressive and knocked off the whole stupid arranged marriage business, while some become even more traditional, and... whatever. shoes seem to be the LEAST important issue when it comes to elves.
