You'd realize the value of it eventually, anyway. Probably when/if you went to college. Girls just generally prefer masculine guys.

Sorry you grew up with that kind of attitude around you, though. That sucks.

What? Sorry dude, but there is just so much wrong with this.

What's wrong with it?

Meer is better than Hale because hale tries WAAAAAAAY too hard to have a "grrr I am badass, as badass as any male" voice. Compare her to Grey Delisle who sounds threatening and badass while still sounding feminine and alluring even while talking about torturing you.

Nova from StarCraft II was NOT threatening OR badass. She sounded like a teenage girl cosplaying as a Ghost.

People irrationally harbor a resentment for masculinity.

Who? What? Where?
People harbour resentment for macho chauvinism, not masculinity.

Xenharmonic wrote...
But male strength, speed and efficiency are perfectly natural.

All of those can be attributed to a woman. Also, watch out for the liberal use of the word efficiency.

Xenharmonic wrote...
Men naturally walk and move in a way that is masculine (by definition of the word.)

A lot of modern man walk like chimps and flap their hands around unecessarily. That is not masculine.

Xenharmonic wrote...
The powerful, muscular male physique is something to be celebrated, not embarassed by!

Again, who is embarassed by the male physique?

Well, with Grey's range if the performance was like that I am wondering if they asked her to be that way

Having played both SC games (frequently as the Terrans), I can say that if she was trying to be a Ghost, I didn't really feel it. I think she was trying to mimic Kerrigan from SC1 (pre-infestation). For the record, Kerrigan wasn't very Ghost-like either.

well she plays a truckload of roles tho Azula is awesome (and sexy even tho I know she is jail bait....god I am going to hell). She also plays Nassana Dantius in Mass Effect. One of the companions in DA:A

I could have mentioned Jen Taylor too, the voice of Cortana. She is always warm, sassy and feminine but have you heard her when she plays a pissed off Cortana?

She is also the voice of Jacqueline Natla in Tomb Raider Anniversary and Tomb Raider Underworld, debateably one of the most awesome video game villains ever..

Here's a clip.

(coincidently, the voice of Amanda Evert in this scene is Kath Soucie, who did some voice work in the first Mass Effect and was Marjolaine in DAO.)

And another.

(coincidently, the voice of Qualopec in this scene is Alastair Duncan, who played Turian Councilor Sparatus and Nihlus Kryik, )

LOL at the deluded cultural Marxists on here thinking masculinity isn't under assault. Boys and men have been in the target reticule of feminists for years if not decades. From "girl power" propaganda, putting boys on ritalin, vague sexual harassment laws that put males at the mercy of vindictive women, divorce law favoring women (70% of divorces are filed by women most citing "irreconcilable differences"). The whole system is set up to disparage and dehumanize men. OP you're not paranoid at all. There is a war going on and men having been losing for so long it's part of the reason they're drawn to video games. It's a masculine hobby that embodies male values like adventure, exploration, and conquest. It's a place where guys can be guys and escape being PC (politically correct). Everywhere else from TV to the schools masculinity is under fire. It's sickening.

Check out this link. Most people don't even know what misandry yet we have a whole a lot of babble about "misogyny".

Yes, yes, we've seen how those poor men act in their 'safe masculine environment' on Xbox Live, sending vulgar messages to girls, calling people ****s etc. You go guys! Fight that oppresion!

No wonder you don't like PC, you're scared the days when you could insult and/or disrespect women all you liked are comign to an end.

I could say something crude about Hale's voice inspiring my 'masculinity', but I shall resist.

Citing xbox live as an argument? Sorry your feelings got hurt by some e-bully but your butt hurt is irrelevant.

Glad you admit the purpose of PC is to outlaw thought crime. Everyone will be forced to bow at the altar of diversity.

Breaking News for you: The world is diverse. There's nothing you can do about it, you just have to deal with it and learn how to live with other people who are different to you and treat them well just like you want other people to treat you well.

It's kinda like the basics of human relations, it's just ridiculous how some adult people like you still don't get it.

Let me guess you're some white liberal suburbanite who probably lives nowhere near the ghetto while lecturing others about the value of integration. Why don't we put some section 8 housing projects right next to you and see how much you like diversity then. There is a political dimension to all this that has little to do with personal deceny.  PC tries to shut that down.

I'm not bothered about whether i play a male of female shepherd, but (and i apologise to her and her fans) the female voice actor for Shepherd really got on my nerves. I can't stand listening to her voice. Miranda on the other hand is great (i Looooooove south african accents) although i'm not sure she would be a good choice to voice shepherd. Other female voice actors are fine.

PC tries to eliminate the assumption that just because you are white, black, rich, poor, male, female, straight, gay you will be a cartain way. Racism, bigotry, misogyny, anti-semitism, xenophobia and similar all target everyone in a particular group of people as worse/inferior. And I don't live in suburbs

That's the philosophical difference between us Issac. I believe human nature is largely fixed and unchangeable. That there are real differences between people across racial, gender, and class divides. This was understood for nearly all of human history until recently when hard truths were discarded in favor of protecting people's feelings. Society has grown too soft.

And I believe everyone has the same human nature. I live in a country where 95%+ people are white, catholic and ethnically pure-Polish. And guess what, we have everything from muders, to political conflicts, to racism (yes, the question "but against who if everyone's white lol?" is a good one in Polish context), antisemitism, robbery, financial manipulations, "ghettos" etc. And it's all done by white western-civilization catholics here. There are no differences. There can be a thieves, hateful people, murders of every race, gender, sexuality, religion, culture.

What understanding? It was nothing but racism, bigotry, misogyny, xenophobia, etlisms and the rest. Women had no rights, slavery existed, prosecution of homosexuality, more wars & conflicts than ever. Exactly what kind of understanding is that?
