I absolutely love the soundtrack to DA:O and DA2 - what tracks would you love to see nostalgically return in DA3?

I would love to see the DA theme get the Skyrim treatment, and be re-scored to be more epic. Kind of like this, but more epic: www.youtube.com/watch

or Leliana's song re-scored would be awesome too:

The Mass Effect theme (whatever that was called) returned in different ways, reflecting the changes in the tenor and development of the story.

I think whatever themes return should also have alterations to fit the theme of DA3:I.

The main theme should always be hinted in the next game, kinda brings around the sense of nostalgia.

What's the name of that ost that plays at Lake Calenhad, and The Wounded Coast. I like that one along with the ost that plays when you fight that ogre in the Tower of Ishal.

Honestly I never felt Dragon Age's music was memorable. In either game. Don't actually care.

The Dwarves in their city MUST return, also Hawkes family theme would be great to work in again, possibly being Dragon Age's best piece of music IMO

I want a new soundtrack from the same author(s).
I want a song sung in the game, like Leliana did in DA:O.
(And maybe In Uthenera sung by a man. :-))

EDIT: And some drunken Dwarves singing in a Tavern! somethings like this or this

I think 'In Uthenera' is memorable enough to be re-recorded and brought back, even if elves or Leliana don't play a huge part. I can't remember any melodies from DA2 off the top of my head. (Except the Florence + The Machine song, heh.)

Original music. New tracks. If anything should be brought back, just the DA theme(redone of course).

I Am The One (Dark Fantasy version)

I don't think this one was used in the game, but I always liked it more than the high fantasy version. It reminds me of Morrigan. If they re-record it, I'm sure they'll ruin it. Leave it alone and just put it in the game.

In my opinion, this song captures Dragon Age.

Origins: The awesome battle music from DA:O. Y'know. That was great.
And the credits music. I loved it.
Leliana's song to be sung by Leliana in DA3. :) !!!

Edit: @ OP, wow that Road to Redemption song is beautiful.

Yeah, it really is! If DA: I gets its own unique theme, something like that would be wicked mixed with it for the end credits. Just needs fuller percussion.

Skyrim - Sovngarde

Skyrim is epic by design and makes you feel like a legend of prophecy in this vast and richly detailed world. So, these sorts of themes fit like a glove.

But Dragon Age isn't so much about the epic fantasy world or even slaying dragons. It's more of a political game that just happens to have some adventure. Dragon Age 2 takes place in one city and involves you running errands for people in the neighborhood. It doesn't make for a really epic tale.

Origins on the other hand was sort of epic, but was still a shamless rip off of LOTR. The best parts of Origins were the political ones, not the epic good vs. evil battle at the end.

As long as they don't rush the game and give Inon zur or whatever composer sufficient time to make the soundtrack good.

I love that clip. It perfectly conveys the melancholy of the whole situation. If I'm not mistaken you actually hear that music when you *DA2 spoilers* run into the Wardens near the end of Act 2. For a fleeting moment a little bit of the magic of DA:O reared its head, but alas it was only fleeting.

The music in DA:O was exceptional, especially in regards to certain tunes coming up in the context of your companions. For example when you meet companions for the first time you hear the 'camp theme' such as when you first encounter Sten or Wynee. Most of your most meaningful interactions happen in camp which sets up an emotional tie to whenever you hear that theme again. I couldn't imagine farewells scene of DA:O without this music which is again heard in the scenes after you beat the game. In contrast to DA2, its farewell scene is done with no music at all and is the personification of why DA2, though a fun game, was flat and lifeless in comparison to DA:O, imo. The game was rushed and the music suffered for it.

I'd love to hear this battle music from DA: Awakenings come back.

For fun I've included a clip from KOTOR2. I know, different game, different developer, its still badass and I wants it!

Overall, I just want the same time and care put into DA3's music as is found and expected in other Bioware titles. Bioware please do this.

I'd like the theme from Lake Calenhad/The Wounded Coast to return. I always found it quite magical and myserious.

Also, things with trumpets.

I'm personally a real sucker for Fenris' theme and I firmly believe that, while there is a lot of great music in Dragon Age, Fenris theme is probably the best piece of music ever written for a Dragon Age, or any game for that matter.
