I love that clip. It perfectly conveys the melancholy of the whole situation. If I'm not mistaken you actually hear that music when you *DA2 spoilers* run into the Wardens near the end of Act 2. For a fleeting moment a little bit of the magic of DA:O reared its head, but alas it was only fleeting.
The music in DA:O was exceptional, especially in regards to certain tunes coming up in the context of your companions. For example when you meet companions for the first time you hear the 'camp theme' such as when you first encounter Sten or Wynee. Most of your most meaningful interactions happen in camp which sets up an emotional tie to whenever you hear that theme again. I couldn't imagine
farewells scene of DA:O without this music which is again heard in the scenes after you beat the game. In contrast to DA2, its farewell scene is done with no music at all and is the personification of why DA2, though a fun game, was flat and lifeless in comparison to DA:O, imo. The game was rushed and the music suffered for it.
I'd love to hear this battle music from DA: Awakenings come back.
www.youtube.com/watch?v=AUusiRBqtcoFor fun I've included a clip from KOTOR2. I know, different game, different developer, its still badass and I wants it!
