Arr, I should've pointed out that it was a personal opinion. That was what I meant. Sorry 'bout that.

Glad you enjoyed it so much, though :)

Synthesis canon - No!

If a new Mass Effect game continues the formula of ME1 - 3 (character development & customization, Paragon/Renegade decisions, 3rd person action, dialogue options, RPG elements, galaxy exploration, Love Interests etc) than: Yes. I will buy a new Mass Effect game. ME3 original ending was bad, but EC fixed most parts of it for me. I have faith in Bioware.

Absolutely zero chance of a pre-order or Collector's Edition. Bioware breached my trust, and it can't be repaired.

Possibly after hearing positive user reviews (USER reviews, not reviews from Game Informer/IGN/etc).

No.
They released a sloppy conclusion to the series and expected the fans to lap it up and ask for more.

ME3 was a let-down? Not sure we were playing the same game then. I'm loo0king forward to whatever the new game is.

Well, since I wasn't "let down" by the third game, I'll probably buy more ME games. I loved 'em too much not to. So, yet again, my wallet will pay the price when the time comes.

They dulled down the RPG elements and put in so much auto dialog, it's almost as if the game plays itself. Not to mention the plot holes and poor plot overall. How can you even say ME3 was good. I'm not saying the game was totally crap, but jeez... almost felt like you were playing their story, not your own. (I'll remind you the casey said you could make the story your own with decisions but they amount to nothing in the end.) Every decision you make has practically zero impact on the story other than war assets. It's quite sad really

If you think so.  I personally had tons of fun with it, and loved how they wrapped it up.

Well everyone has their own opinion, I respect that. But it seems as if the larger portion of the comunity consider the game a letdown.

I'm with JimJamBimBam on this I loved ME 3 and did not feel any let down at all. So I would buy the next Mass Effect game because it is a great series and that is that.

This.

this 2!!

Agreed here too.  I love this franchise, I have all the DLC for all games, and the mass effect N7 shirt.  Hell, I even bought a second Xbox when it came out so that my husband and I could play story line at the same time, and I think we are going to attempt a couples EDI & Joker cosplay for Halloween.  There is no hope for people like me...

The MMO is the single worst vehicle for a narrative in the history of story-telling. Cave-paintings are more effective. Sitting around a camp-fire is better. The MMORPG is where established literary properties go to die.

"Larger portion"

Yeah, because the BSN constitutes a majority.

Really?  Because CoH, WoW, CO, SWTOR will probably disagree with you.

I disagree.  I think it's the louder part of the community that considers the game a let down.  Lot's of people like it, they just don't profess how much they like it all the time, so all you hear about is the ones who don't.  It's like Yelp, very few people use Yelp to when they have a great experience, and far more people use Yelp when they have a bad experience.  So all you hear about are the bad ones, which is really subjective.

I've been playing MMORPGs since the dawn of the MMORPG. Ultima and EverQuest.  I've played all the games you listed and more. The repetitive, unevolving and perpetual nature of the MMORPG is horrible for story-telling.

I won't buy another Mass Effect game (or any Bioware/EA game) unless they decide to give ME3 a proper ending.

And I know plenty of people who would strongly disagree with you.  But an opinion is an opinion.
