Okay, so recently I recieved KOTOR as a gift from a friend on Steam. It's been all fun and good since then, with the occasional (read: frequent) glitch every now and then, but just last night I discovered a patch for it and thought, 'Okay, this is good. It might fix some of the glitches and problems I've been having'. Now, this patch is an officially released patch, not a random one created by fans and players, (This is the link here knightsoftheoldrepublic.filefront.com/file/KOTOR_Patch;65132x#935949 ) and I downloaded it believing I would encounter no issues. That, however, has not been the case.
After the patch had installed and done as required, I casually tried to begin the game, believing it would work fine, only to discover that I now require to insert a disc in order for it to begin. Now I'm pretty sure you can see my problem here right now: Steam doesn't use discs.
I'm not sure why this is happening and, to be honest, I'm quite frustrated and angry about it too. I've tried several things to try and get it working but none of them have worked. If anyone has any way to solve this issue, please, please, tell me. I had been thinking of writing to Steam Support, but then I realised I had not proof of purchase seeing as it was a gift.
Again, I would really appreciate any help. I have been really looking forward to playing this gane for a while now.
Cheers,
Bancs.
