I am at the virge of tears at the moment. my laptop doesnt have the right graphic card. My desktop can get a video card but it wont even download on my computer. My laptop will download it but my old computer wont. Unless there is a cheap upgrade on the laptop that gives me the right amount of HD needed. But you cant insert a new video card in a laptop without proffesional help. My Uncle is a really awesome computer technician but by the time he comes for vacation here, my rents will make me return it because its a waste of money and by the time he gets here it would be too late to return it. I need some serious help here.Image IPB

I don't understand what you mean. You can't download a video card. Do you mean a driver update?

I'll try to help you, I'm having tons of problems with my game and nobody is helping me and it sucks, so I'll see what I can do. :)

Don't forget the season.  Other than the newest owners of the game, the habitual residents here are doing Christmas stuff, not including reading message forum traffic.  I saw your questions, but didn't think I could help, so rather than waste space, I was going to pass you up,  but that seems not to have been what I ended up doing after all.

I  live alone, and finished up the visiting with my kids' families yesterday, and just wandered into here for awhile . .

A couple of my cats are helping me type right now (since I was gone for most of each of the last two days, they are trying to make up for lost moments of attention)  Any typos I miss fixing, blame those on Joey the Siamese, hovering over my hands,  trying to get between my fingers and the keyboard.

I suspect that the OP here is mixed up about the difference between a regular music type compact disk, and the matching drive for that, versus the DVD the game comes on, plus mis-using the word "Download".

The word "download" is not a synonym for the word "install", not at all.

The old optical disk format was the same as a music disk's.  The new disk format is the same as a movie's, DVD.

In order to use the older model desktop PC, if the CPU and rhe RAM will meet the game standards, you will need to add a proper PC drive for the DVD.  They cost around $25 - 30 with shipping, from Newegg, stateside.

Windows XP Minimum Specifications
OS: Windows XP with SP3
CPU: Intel Core 2 Single (or equivalent) running at 1.6Ghz or greater
AMD 64 (or equivalent) running at 2.0Ghz or greater
RAM: 1 GB or more
Video: ATI Radeon X850 256MB or greater (either this is wrong)
NVIDIA GeForce 6600 GT 128MB or greater (or this one is wrong)
DVD ROM (Physical drive)
20 GB HD space

(Note: IMO, the two video minimums above should be the Radeon X800 Pro, and the Geforce 6800 Vanilla)
