This has to be the most annoying operation ever since launch. Was a pain in the a** to get a team of same race in the lobby, even with micros.

BW please, you should create "operation" custom options for joining parties which actually want to do the operations. Would save a lot of time to many people.

Which of them had reach? Who had flexibility?

Because I've been ill most of the weekend I've only just been able to start playing. Anyone willing to help me get the squad goal on the Xbox 360? Can play with an Asari, Turian, Drell, Quarian, or Krogan character.

I have to say, the operation is cool, but the squad goal is damn near impossible to do without a dedicated party.

The first match I got into was myself and the host playing as Asari. Well, then we had a good ol' human join up midway through the match and ruin the chance for the squad objective. Like I said, the idea is cool, application however is ridiculous.

That happened to me my first match, then the next match I used my mic and found a host who was willing wanted to the squad goal, and we wouldn't start the match until we had all 4 members the same species.

Nice OP. Just had a fun match with a PUG with 3 fellow Batarians while the last minutes ticked down. Came together without problems, even without talking.
3 heavily armed Bat.Soldiers and an Sentinel wanted to say goodbye to cerberus.
I really dont understand the anger in this thread. Or is Europe this different?

Exactly. Or the host could change the mission settings to private to insure nobody of any other race joins halfway through. I did the squad goal with a few races, salarian, turian, asari and krogan offcourse but the most fun I've had on the multiplayer for a while was the all salarian team. I busted out my infiltrator with 3 fellow engineers. I have never seen so many salarians including decoys.

Great time here as well. Loved the perimeters of same race + full extraction. Shame so few people seemed into it. Friend of mine from work partnered up so we could guarantee the squad goal. Wonder how the Comunity goal came along.

Despite the many non-op PUGs, it was fun. I discovered that as a Salarian, I am worthless, for I ruined an extraction after Banshees mobbed the extraction zone. My missiles had run out in the previous missions...

Confirmed that Quarians can kick major ass, learned how to play as Asari, unlocked the Turian soldier (Turian + Firebase Hydra + Phaeston + Marksman = plenty of dead enemies). It was fun.

Now, some things must be improved:
1. From the players' side:
-If you are in a Krogan-only squad, NEVER forget the mandatory head-butting rite before a fight.
-Cooperate and listen. If the leader says "lets go species X" go species X or choose another game.
-Try something else new... Don't always stick to that bloody Paladin, kroguard, whatever!

2. From Bioware:
-Some way for team leaders to write messages at the lobby stating the game's goals, conditions, etc. Heck, if I'm hosting it, I may want a certain squad set up. For those of us who play PUGs only, such feature would be very handy.
-Some way to select op or non-op games. Start multiplayer and if there's an op going on, you select if you want to join or not. If say, its a non-Geth weekend, then Geths will be blocked for the op games, just in case someone is not aware of the conditions.
-Add some surprises to the weekend ops. Say, a random chance of finding some Easter egg in the maps, a specially challenging target which would force the team to work as a group to take it down, etc.

I ran with a Krogan, Turian, Asari, and Quarian team. Can't beat seeing enemies flying across the map, so of course the Krogan squad granted me the most enjoyment, but I was surprised at the effectiveness of our Quarian team. I used the Male Infiltrator, melting phantoms with my reager whenever I could.

I thought the Asari would kick house with the freeze fields, but those teams were the hardest to complete. Turians brought the firepower. Atlases dropped like candy.

Oh, and I missiled atlases on extraction phase like they were going out of style.

Headbutting is a must!

One more learning from this operation: an Atlas has no chance against 4 Krogan soldiers even on Gold. If 4 krogan shooting, headbutting, heavy meleeing, biotic charging an Atlans... well, I don't want to be the pilot of this specific Atlas. It has only a few seconds... veeeeryyy messy work. :)

Also at least a text chat should be available on PC.

I did this as well I was like an atlas bounty hunter killing at least 6 on every extraction wave i did (4 missles and 2 with Proxy Shotty combos) was close acouple of times got to extraction zone with less than 5 seconds but man it was fun.

Had no real issues getting the OP done this weekend on the PS3... Most old lobbies I went into I would switch characters to what the Leader was, as did all of the rest... Did 2 Krogan and 2 Asari on Bronze, and 1 Batarian and 3 Asari on Gold.

I read somewhere that as long as 2 (You and someone of the same race) Extracted, then you would get the Com Pack...

Didn't have any problems with the squad config this weekend... usually I just mic'd or messaged the person in my lobby saying hey you need to switch characters. They either did or quickly bailed.

I had a good time with this operation. Took a bit of time trying to find a group of the same species, but made it work. Played a Geth Infiltrator for the third time. Glad to not have to do it again. haha

Even made a new Xbox friend. Fun!

I liked this operation. Too bad there was players who think that 2/4 of the same race was ok to get squad goal...

At the beginning of the op it was a breeze to get people to man up for the squads. I was done twenty minutes into it. Apart from the odd one here and there it seemed on PC at least that almost everyone was trying. I think I only entered two non Cerberus games. I entered a three entity Quarian match mid wave with a Krogan and quit straight away.

It was actually easier than when you needed the Terminus system squads.

I enjoyed the weekend challenge because it made me play something other that I usually play. Since I more or less forced a friend to help me out, I made sure to pick his favourite race (Turian). After that, I played U/U/Bronze for a while, then remembered the allied goal and switched to Cerberus. ^^;;

Edit: Oh, and I got executed by an Atlas for the first time. Was escorting a drone on White and had my back turned away to keep an enemy spawn in the LZ under control. Then all of a sudden I bump into something, immediately got lifted up in the air and whack, bled out. Imagine my surprise and chagrin. I was lucky my teammates finished the wave without any problems. But I felt so stupid. :crying:

wanna mention again how it's funny i got more escort missions this week (guess as punishment for failing the last operation) than i did in an operation that was centered around escort missions....and they say the game is 'random'...yea right lol

Sadly I was out of town from Thursday till today and unable to play so I missed the whole thing. I think the squad goal sounded like fun (very unique, and from a role playing vantage point I would have loved to fight with a group of Turians on Palavin). It would have been a challenge but not as hard as the last one where you might think you made it through successfully not knowing that someone used an ops pack or thermal clip. The last one was a little unreasonable to do with a random group but I would say the BW is attempting to get the community working together rather then being so quick to solo the squad goals. By making this one have a minimum of 2 players they were moving towards that idea. Its a noble thought but some people are always going to complain if they have to trust other people because they feel you can only count on yourself, and a lot of times they are right. Still I like these weekends for the coming together to achieve a united goal because lord knows the rewards aren't worth it. To me its the satisfaction that we did it together that makes it fun and because of that I like that the squad goals are being made into more of a squad dependent thing rather then just a Go figure out how to do this on you own, thing.
