I don't use it. People saying it isn't any good are nuts; it makes the mid game MUCH easier. It isn't suitable for end game, but it's close, and you aren't supposed to be able to equip near-endgame armor at level 7.
It's also glaringly out of place, visually speaking. My one beef with this generally excellent game is the way they implemented the DLC. I have no problem with DLC in general, but using NPCs as in-game salespeople is kinda tacky, and DLC should emphasize content rather than loot. "Thanks for the fifteen bucks, here's your Sword of Pwnage" kills immersion and makes you feel like you're cheating if you take advantage of it, or gimping yourself if you don't.
There would be no way to start the quests without those 2 guys but I'd like the quest mark removed after the first time I talk to them!
Any new voters out there? I not only sell the armor with all my chars, I also tend to use only what looks good. And that's Splint Mail FTR! They look very good, imho, except in Dragonbone quality... uggly as a dead bone! Grey iron and Steel are the best looking so that's what my rogues use until they can purchase or obtain some unique rogue's armors pieces.
And, of course, unique sets FTW!
