I'll thank bioware to keep their personal romance bias out of my protagonist personal affairs in Da3, some things should remain sacred, no?

Merrill smashes the mirror after the static keepers death regardless of intervention and early warnings.

And?  You're still wrong: she does not continue trying to repair the mirror in both paths, and her final choice wraps up her character arc end in fundamentally different ways on friendship and rivalry paths.

EDIT:  Keep on moving those goal posts until your arms get tired, we can wait.

She does indeed continue to keep trying to fix the mirror even without the Elven tool.So self righteous, so wrong.

She doesn't do exactly what you want, exactly when you want it, because she's not your goddamn character. This is called consistent writing, and it's a good thing.

Every post you make introduces even more conditions so you can guard yourself against being wrong, and you're still presenting yourself as a ridiculous twit who has no idea what she even wants.

*sigh* can we not get so sensitive and defensive. -_-

She can't help that she was trained wrong.  As a joke.

Dear god, a character that doesn't agree with the omnipotent and never-wrong PC and dares to prove herself

and i can't just give her jewelry to get her to shut up?!

what is this world coming to

I was pleasnently shocked when friended Aveline was pissed that I sold her shield*that has sentimental value to her even if it becomes useless pretty early in the game* when I gifted her the shield of the knight herself.

I was referring to DA:O's gifting mechanic that allowed you to give characters material things in exchange for approval, no matter how much they might have disagreed with your actions.  There something like this in DA2, but depending on rivalry or friendship status, they may react to the gifts differently.  Aveline's thing about Wesley's shield might be some kinda bug or oversight, anyway it doesn't matter

DA:O's romances were truly immersive and personal experiences that taught me no matter how badly I might ****** someone off or insult their core values, a gold necklace or a nice new pair of boots would shut them up and they'd love me again.

No matter how many mothers I punch in the face, Alistair will always love me again after a few drool-covered dog bones.

What on earth are you trying to say?  She does NOT keep trying to fix the mirror on the rivalry path: she smashes it.  I have bolded where you confirmed this yourself, since that's the only source I imagine you'll listen to.

You seem to be confusing her Act 2 quest, in which you can refuse to give her the Arulin'holm and she keeps trying to repair it anyway, with the actual end of her character arc in Act 3, in which she decides to stop fixing it.

Really, can you read?!  She continues trying to repair it UNTIL the end of her character act in Act 3.  Then she smashes it.  At which point she can no longer fix it.  Because she smashed it.

Then again I don't know why I continue to be surprised that you don't seem to have ever heard of something called a dynamic character.

Friend/rivalmance is superficial
jimmy and has little to no effect on the static course of romance
progression. This isn't my issue in the slightest. No matter what you do,
fenris will run out on you, anders will blow up the chantry, merrill
will fix that mirrror
and so on and so forth. The fact that so many
voicing condescension can't see the superficiality when in comparison to
origins is quite amusing.I factored all this in before posting so feel
free to keep thinking that's the soloution.I and the people who voiced
agreement understand the problem and that's enough.

With the keeper hopelessly still dieing due to the mirror. My argument on static events stands and I'll thank you for agreeing with me =]

The goalposts have moved so far from "I'll thank bioware to keep their personal romance bias out of my protagonist personal affairs in Da3, some things should remain sacred, no?" that we might as well be playing a different game.

Can a mod please change the thread title to "Emzamination tests everyone's collective patience?"

I think OP actually ate the goalposts, possibly along with any teachers who tried to explain the use of conjunctions to separate different ideas in a single sentence.

I've always hated that line as well, especially since Hawke almost entirely up to that point is trying to get something more romantic out of Isabela.

I've always assumed my Hawke was being sarcastic with that line.

I have read this topic in all of its full 8 pages and I still have no clue what the heck the OP's trying to achieve here. Seriously.

My post has been about static and unchanging romance from the very beginning, shorts. What interpretations and mutations you take from that is of little to no concern to me.I've stayed true to the intended direction of my thread. =]

It's ok, this thread reached its intended goal here. It can die now, I'll just reraise the issue should I expierence in Da3.

Again not an absolute, Allan and gaider do it all the time.

I'm sorry what?

I don't remember the details of Isabela's relationship, buuuut, what I did see in the video was choosing "I am not looking for love" so I'm a bit confused that someone would be surprised by that response.

The other dialogue options all do the same thing (or have her break it off)?

Furthermore, are you friends or rivals with Isabela?

You kinda have to read the thread. Even then, it may be confusing.

OP is annoyed because she is unable to persuade Isabela to commit to her during the Rivaini Talisman conversation.

She's saying that in the romances you've written, you keep on putting your personal biases into the dialogue.

I have read the thread.  Does anyone know what the other dialogue options say?

I remember the romance playing out quite differently depending on whether you were friends/rivals, however.

Is that how you talk/write IRL OP? You could have just said "more diverse options in romance dialogues". o__O

btw I only read this thread because I thought BioWare has done something to offend you based on your religious beliefs.
