The Wraith is actually pretty good at range. It's also pretty light. You use it like a Claymore w/o reload cancel.rlro wrote...
Why don't you buff the Wraith (increase RoF, lower recharge time, increase clip size) instead of nerfing the Piranha? I'd love to use the Wraith, but it is really bad compared to almost all other rare shotguns.

Wraith X has the same weight as Piranha X, so it is not pretty light, specially because just a few have Wraith at level X and many have Piranha.
Also, what is the point of using a Shotgun from a long distance? There are better weapons for that purpose.

Ok, now you have told us what you want to do. The next logical thing would be to tell us why.
There is absolutely no need to touch the Carnifex in my opinion. Furthermore if you reduce the clip size of the piranha damage, please restore the damage of the weapon to the status of it's initial release. That would be something around 2.2 points more damage.

It does not need to be 'balanced.' Of all the guns you could be adjusting, the Carnifex is one of the few that DIDN'T need attention.
The fact that the weight increase is only minor is entirely beside the point. It didn't need to be changed to begin with.
A lot of people using the Carnifex? Well, maybe that's because most of the other pistol options aren't very good.
Predator: very light, but takes all day to kill anything.
Phalanx: light, decent damage. Not a bad option.
Eagle: light, too much recoil, poor damage, N7 rarity so no one has it at a very high level
Paladin: heavy for a pistol, excellent damage, ultra-rare so not a lot of players have it at a high level
Talon: heavy for a pistol, excellent damage, ultra-rare so not a lot of players have it at a high level
Arc Pistol: good damage, but has to be charged to be most effective
Scorpion: good damage, but shoots prox mines. Takes some practice to use as a primary weapon
Acolyte: light, good at only one thing, has to be charged to shoot
And that brings us to the Carnifex: light at level X, solid damage, and 6 shots before reload, and it's more common for players to get to level X than the ultra-rares. The best all around pistol.
So I just wonder why a lot of people use it??? Could it be because it's SOOO RIDICULOUSLY OVERPOWERED??? OR, maybe because it's the only truly well-rounded pistol for all classes.

.5 * 1.4 = .7 so a 40% increase.
I thought the changes where always an even percentage throughout all the levels... Am I missing something here?

It's a flat .2 increase, guns where weight decreases were never % based just a fixed rate.

Yea I see that, but for some reason I thought that it was always a percentage buff/nerf. Maybe it's only with damages.

Carnifex: The gun does not have fantastic DPS by any measure -- it's actually weaker than almost every other pistol from a DPS standpoint. The Carnifex is used because it's light and versatile. It works at all ranges and doesn't hurt your cooldowns. That makes it a weapon of superior convenience, not of superior ability. When carrying one, It's common for me to get 75 kills and not get 25 pistol kills. For example:

The gun may be carried a ton, but it's carried as a versatile backup, not as a primary weapon. That makes it of considerably less concern than the Piranha, which dominates the battlefield as a primary tool.
I have a bigger issue with this, though. You're nerfing cooldowns, not guns. This has been the way the game has been pushed since release: bigger guns, **** the power classes. This is another giant middle finger to the thing that made ME3's MP worth playing. Extending the weapon-class dominance by weakening the power classes even more is just downright inexplicable.

it's playing politics after the many comments made after this information was released. my money is on the fact that besides this clip decrease, the piranha will be krysae nerfed right before or right after the new MP DLC in order to intice people to buy and use the new weapons. Along with recent post by derek holland? asking why people use the piranha, it seems it's still in heavy use and that just wont work for the new DLC and it's potential profit margins
