I never memorized more than two or three cross class combos in DA2, mostly because I never remembered which /discovered most of abilities combined with each other.

Could there be a system in DA3 to highlight in the abilities bar which ability triggers a cross class combo?

For example, I select a spell with my mage to affect an enemy, then I select my rogue and see which abilities are available to perform a combo with a small description of said combo on the ability bar. If I click one enemy some abilities are highlighted, and if I click another enemy which is currently being affected by another spell/ability, other abilities are highlighted on that enemy.

Even if it's just on the tutorial, or on lower difficulties, would you be interested in this feature Bioware?

That's actually a pretty good idea. Although, there will be situations where the game won't know your strategy and won't know what can happen. For instance, I ready an AoE spell and send it at an area that will affect a few enemies just as I send my rogue into the fray via one of her abilities. Since neither has connected yet, the combo is unknown, but it would still happen as dictated by whatever rules the combo follows. In this situation, none of the abilities can highlight based on current targets. On the other hand, if abilities were just tagged as combo-enabled (with a small icon on the ability icon), that would be useful in itself.

I personally would love it, as it'd fit in with all the pausing I do during combat.

You could always make the game turned based and allow for combo queueing :P (please)
This is a good idea.  It wasn't that hard to memorize them or anything, but it would be good for people new to the series, or just as a little visual aid for old players.  It would save flipping back and forth between the ability page to check on things.

Agreed.  I only bothered learning the combos once I hit the higher difficulty; I didn't use them much on Normal because I honestly forgot about them a lot of the time.

I concur. The CCC were a great addition, but only if you knew what you were doing. Making the system more transparent and user-friendly is always a good plan.

it seems it is a well received idea. Bump for more opinions

I think this is a good idea - would love an easier way to see potential combos at a glace - even if it was something like when you hover your mouse over an ability (not sure how it would work on console?) - abilities from your chosen crew that would aid it pop out above the quick bar. Then you can chain select your actions without needing to switch the character - once your ability is active, the next one selected engages up to the maximum number of your squad (presume its still four?)

Maybe for AOE spells the combo could be highlighted on the enemy itself instead of the ability bar

Pretty sure I won't like that personally.  Unless that highliting on enemies is optional of course.
If you don't care for higher levels of difficulty or don't have trouble remembering or quickly acting to make the most out of combos, then it's possible those visual effects (that have nothing to do with the enemies's looks) will only ruin the view.

Aiding the tactical aspect of combat is good, but not on detriment of the actual looks of the game and what is going on your screen

In DA2, I find those weird icons on people's heads annyoing and never found a mod to get rid of them.

I loved the CCC's. What I didn't like was, when I tried to set one up, the effect (stagger, brittle, etc) either was taken off due to another attack, or it wasn't prevalent enough that I noticed it. Please if their is going to be CCC's of some kind in DA:3 make the effect on the target permanent until it wears off and more noticeable.

I mostly relied on Tactics to set off CCCs
