Hello folks, Im new here because of a BIG PROBLEM.
Just the other day I purchased this game for 49,99 via STEAM and after taking my first steps as a Dwarf, getting thrown out of my halls, having a chat with the king and all that, suddenly occured...no not a dragon...whorse...far horse infact...an conciderable ammount of lag on my state of the art cpu, that proved itself to get even lagyier and lagyier with time.
So at first I shut down the game and restarted as it seemed that would solve the problem a bit, but now it starts lagging when I play 15 minutes or so, and Im just walking the countryside, not even fighting some memory-heavy dragons.
Loading times are a bugger as well btw, but in-game lag is just terrible and takes the joy out of this otherwise fine game.
(FYI, no known troubles on my cpu, all new drivers installed etc)
I googled and came across a great many people having this exact same problem. People mentioned the issue maybe being AMD processors, quad-cores, the gore-option, OS's etc, but as time went by the only possibility for this BIG PROBLEM could be a memory-leak in the software, and that "the devs are at it".
So are "they at it", because I stopped playing DA as its not fun this way. I beg...no I demand as a costumer for theses things to be looked after, and hope a staff-member would be so nice to give an answer to my problem.

1) Have you actually checked your memory usage? People use "memory leak" like they do "virus."
2) This isn't the right forum either way. Go to the PC technical support forum, they might have some suggestions.

Yes, but when there is a leak the PC needs to run the extra miles as well(but its still OK), and Im not the one who came up with the word, its all over the web - the many many people with stellar cpu's and this exact same problem, and some claiming EA/Bioware recognized this as a problem...I'd just like to know whats going on.
But thx for the respond and directing me to the right place.
btw. where is this technical support? linky?

I'm aware that it is, that's specifically why I said it. People know memory leaks cause slowdowns but not that slowdowns don't imply memory leaks.kontekrabb wrote...
