Is there that much of a demand for Cullen?

In that video I see a no nonsense and takes charge man, who is not above making compromises and taking advice for the greater good. He sticks to his beliefs, he is logical, as well as kind (he takes care of the reward in the end). Yes, to a player who loves mages above all else and want them to be free etc Cullen's views would seem "wrong", but I think he makes a compelling argument in that all mages are corruptable, and never above beeing posessed.
Overall I think there is alot of things to work with and expand on when it comes to Cullen. And I say this as someone who isn't intereted in male love interests.
I still think he would make a good LI however.

Though I'll still try to give him a chance if he's a major character in DA: I.

I'm curious as to where Cullen fans being vocal. Most of the threads being made here are by people who dislike him. Most of Cullen fans don't constantly make threads gushing over him. It would be more like a case of haters being a little too vocal that make him more noticeable than he would otherwise be.Mungolian_ wrote...

He's a bigoted **** throughout the entire game until he switches sides at the end, at which point he becomes a turncoat bigoted ****. Which is admittedly better than the prior, but still, I see nothing likeable about his current condition, though he may become so in the next game. Also, sticking to your beliefs isn't admirable when the beliefs are terrible.sandellniklas wrote...
I'd say watch this and then tell me he isn't a compelling character.

It's the Cullen haters and complainers that are vocal, not the other way around.

Yeah. He's got post traumatic stress syndrome from what happened with Uldred. I'd say he's no more crazy than Anders who blows up the chantry no matter what choices you make.

Killing two apprentices after what torment Cullen went through makes him equally crazy as Anders blowing the Chantry and igniting a war and killing god knows how many?

No, the point that I was trying to make with that comment is that by comparison, Cullen is less crazy than Anders. You have to read it with a sarcastic tone.

Cullen has a higher amount of regular crazy, Anders has become a Roach Motel for a surprisingly easily impressionable spirit. It's not really the same thing.Chanda wrote...

May be this is the reason for your affection? (the underlined part) Because as someone who IS interested in male LI I pray to all game gods and creators to NOT put that dull fanatic in the companion list at all, and double so for not making him LI. (Because he will occupite one male LI slot then)
The things we do know about Cullen are not promising for anyone but his fans. He can be called "normal" like Jacob in ME2 (compare to all tragic bright-lights we have for companions). A simple human, never doubting his duty, with clear job, not adventuorus a bit. But in heroic fantasy story that "normality" makes him dull at best.
No, I do not want to see him as a companion for that only reason - too dull for the story.
