Hate is good. A well written character can evoke all sorts of emotions within people, which is another reason why he'd make a good companion.

Did you steal that line from David Gaider? lol :P

Hey you know Lolas good on the fly LOL.

LMAO, I'm the next Sherlock Holmes obviously.

Well if so many people are asking for Cullen I don't see why not. For the people that hate Cullen well just hope for an option to kill him, like I said I don't find Cullen interesting but I would love if Bioware would improve his character. Yeah maybe the only reason why everybody loves Cullen is for his good looks but guess what? we just gotta

The criticism comparing him to Allers is silly, since we really haven't scratched the surface with Cullen yet, and it would be nice to have a templar in our party. But whether I'll care about him once the game begins remains to be see. My feelings about Oghren changed between DA:O and Awakening, and Anders between Awakening and DA2.

Trying to make a blanket statement about Cullen right now is like trying to write an indepth analysis of Refund Guy from the Mass Effect series at this point.

The character Cullen is extremely dry, one dimensional and overrated. He is popular because of the huge number of female fans he has. He is eye candy in templar armor, nothing more. Cullen is about as interesting as a cardboard box. It's laughable, because how often do women throw it in men's faces about how shallow we are because we place too much emphasis on how physically attractive someone is. Lol.

The VAST majority of female post I've seen asking or demanding Cullen be in DA3 say nothing about his character depth, his importance to the lore or story, or the richness of his dialog. It's always, "OMG, he is sooo cute and shy wen you first see him in da mage tower. mayke him a LI, blah blah blah..." followed by a number of happy faces and hearts. I'm not hating, just calling it how I see it, I've stepped in puddles that are less shallow then some posters on here who demand Cullen simply because he looks good. Cullen's perfect parallel is Diana Allers, except she wasn't as well recieved. (And Cullen's voice actor is LEAGUES better than Chobot...but then again who isn't better than her?) Exact same concept though.

I'm sorry but Cullen fan girls you just got...

Yeah, you fangirls just got burn bad. you fangirls you.

Why? I'm not offended that someone has the inability to find a character interesting. Many people have posted lots of great reasons why Cullen would make a great companion and LI and many of them have nothing to do with his looks. If the comment or the "burn" gif's after it were meant to offend us or make us feel stupid, you've sadly mistaken this particular group of Cullen fans with obnoxious teenage girls. We really could care less who agrees with us and who doesn't.

I was being facetious. lol, guess the joke fell flat. :pinched:

Any templar companion would do, really. We haven`t had a proper templar in the party yet.

So who would be better than the Knight Capt. Of Kirkwall that in the end Let our Hawk go.

If Ser Otto from DA;O hadn't taken a pitchfork to the chest, I'd have been rooting for him instead, but he did, so I'm not.

*sniff*

I miss Ser Otto.

Apparently so...

Would they hate even more if we asked for sex with Cullen in DA3?

We've gotten apostates, preachy Circle mages, and lunatic mage fanatics. It's about time the other side got decent representation.

Oh you have the wrong idea, it was all for the laughs sorry if you took it wrong.
Yeah of course I believe that people don't only like Cullen for his good looks.
But he did have a point most girls these days only look at guys from the outside instead of the inside.

lol, I guess not then, David Gaider said the same thing about Tallis that he would rather see hate than apathy. It's just surprised me that I encounter that line in the same forum. ^_^

I just figured the same rules apply for game characters as they do with characters from books, films and TV shows.

For the Record This group of Cullen fangirls have never made any demands or the like Of having Cullen as companion/LI Desiring and demanding are two different things as I recall!

I think Cullen's a beast at the end of DA2, and I'd like to have him on my team in DA3. His merrits and complex character progression throughout the first 2 games speak for themselves, and the huge ammount of fan support I've seen here on the BSN is infectuous, really.

Lol making demands and throwing temper tantrums wouldn't get us very far anyway.

It's entirely up to the DA team whether or not they feel Cullen is worthy of consideration for a companion role. If not, then I'm sure they'll have a good reason for it. Sure, it would be nice to have him as a romancable companion but I don't expect it.

This thread has gotten funny. I was going to charge in with my lengthy, David Gaider-citing manifesto for why Cullen is fascinating as a study of someone who has seen both extremes of the Circle system and has evolved tremendously along a rollercoaster from mage sympathizer to traumatized mage hater to mage protector, making him a natural window of insight into the mage-templar conflict.

But instead I'll just say... yup... we like Cullen for... reasons. B)
