Is there that much of a demand for Cullen?

Not a huge fan of the character. However i do think he makes sense as a potential companion for DA3.
As long as they improve his eyesight.
I don't want to order Cullen to kill the evil blood mage, only for him to look at the robed, staff-wielding, glow-eyed maniac who was just casting spells, and have him reply, "I don't see any mages!"

How is that his fault?TobiTobsen wrote...
I demand Cullen because I need to exact vengeance on him for imprisoning Bethany for two-thirds of DAII!

It isn't.How is that his fault?
Though, technically speaking, Cullen should have ended up dead as a direct result of his involvement, in my game at least - Athena Hawke would have died to protect Bethany from that, she certainly would've taken Cullen with her.
Tobi, I like how you're embracing the name of the game. I also like that your avatar contains Biggles.

Yeah he was and is a collaborator and should hang.

Cullen says himself in Act 3 that he promised himself he would never question the Order again after his torture in DA:O, plus to be fair he does kinda give you a heads up in Act 1 about him hearing worrying things about Hawke's sister. To me it was obvious that we'd need to take her with us to the Deep Roads or risk loosing her to the Circle.

Yeah he was and is a collaborator and should hang.
But by the same token, he also was one of the few who stood up to Meredith when it definitely wasn't safe. I think a tribunal would have to really weigh all the evidence. Even evil Xena got a chance to redeem herself...

Yeah, I love that scene when he takes Bethany. My Hawke was definitely ready to throw down as well... It was very brave of him to come himself.

I would hope for this as well. I think the writers have called it "oblivious"? LOL Poor dear, definitely needs some glasses if they include him in the next game.Maclimes wrote...

Bah... I had that Avatar before the name of the game was announced! They stole the name from me! ...or... uhh... you know.... maybe Monty Python.
And of course it's not his fault! But somebody has to pay for the sacrilege of removing Bethany from two-thirds of the game. Cullen is just the scapegoat!

*Whistles innocently*...... *Twitches*.....Alright FINE! I admit it! I DID IT ALRIGHT?!Still, better than getting her killed off in the Deep Roads! That's just evil.
I needed a Hawke that lost everything, so I made one! She was soooo angry. Just in general, like a constant state of seething hatred, hidden just below the surface and ready to explode at anyone that bothered her...
I loved her, and I lost the save files. It was terrible.
I also wholly doubt it was Cullen's intention to walk into Hawke's house and take his sister away - An order, probably, so that Meredith knew it had been handled correctly. He probably looked back on it in later years and thought "Maker, I was so lucky I wore my plot armour that day..."

LOL! Plot Armour!

And to the OP I totally imagined a couple of my Hawke's romancing Cullen in DAII

And how is that evil? Your character doesn't know that the expedition leader is going to go bonkers, resulting in a single member of the party becoming tainted, making it necessary to drag along psycho-mage on the off chance he'll lead you to some wardens who conveniently show up to recruit said tainted party member.

Both options are equally misguided on Hawke's part. And how is that evil?
However, I believe LolaLei was joking in her statement.

The first time was because I didn't know and I was trying to appease Anders by not making him to the DRs and appease Carver because he wanted to go. I was really bummed to lose baby bro. When I lost Bethany to the taint, it was for the same reason as Sylvanpyxie. I made a warrior!Hawke who'd lost too much and began cracking with Bethany's death and lost it when Leandra died. She went all "Magic is EEEVIILLLL!!!!" more than Cullen had. He actually made me feel kind of bad for some of the sh!t that Hawke of mine said. Even Varric disliked that Hawke and yet it was the most dramatic PT I've ever done. I learned about Meredith's sister and what drives her to be so harsh on the mages - before the crazy-making idol, that is...
