Is the Protagonist Orlesian?

It would be kind of interesting to play a character with no ties at all to Ferelden this time around.
And a little bit of a 'foreign' accent wouldn't necessarily make the hero any less bad@ss.
Riordan, for example. Riordan's VA could work as the VA for an Orlesian hero.

Riordan, for example, would annoy the hell out of me. (If I were playing a male, that is.)
Maybe because he sounds too old or too...I don't know. Simply doesn't sound like a hero.
Are there any english voice actors with french roots out there? Cause I'd like to know what a well-done french accent sounds like. (I still have nightmares of Isolde...)

French-accented NPCs spices up the game, but French-accented PCs just gives me visions of Inspector Clouseau.

I do love Riordan's voice, but he may sound a bit too old for the protagonist. Still, he's a good example that an orlesian accent doesn't always means comic relief.
Who says the protagonist has to be young, though? Might be fun playing someone in their 40s, for a change.

This.
While Riordan's VA might sound a bit too old to voice a young protagonist, he'd be perfectly fine if the hero was a little older. And there is no reason why the hero always needs to be in his or her 20s.
In fact if a Dragon Age game ever returns to having a Grey Warden as the hero, I think that is route they should go. Rather than the player character being a raw recruit, like Duncan or Riordan he should be a battle-scarred Warden that has been in the order for 15 or 20 years.
The hero in this game is apparently an Inquisitor. The title at least, sounds like it should belong to someone a little older.

But then people would complain about not getting to roleplay the character as they want.

That's fair. I'm just assuming that the protagonist will be young because Hawke starts the game on his/her early 20s and the Warden is implied not to be much older (but then, maybe we can argue that every Origin doesn't need to have the same age?). I wouldn't mind having an older character and frankly? If that means there's a chance of having my character voiced by Riordan's VA, count me happy.
EDIT: A few typos!

But, I've lived with the "British Received Pronunciation" accent thus far I can live with French if they do it that way.

It would be no different than Hawke or Commander Shepard having a canon age.

Yup. The Orlesians have the sorta French accent and Fereldans get the sorta English accent. Everyone else has... Something else :happy:Rawgrim wrote...
Isn`t the american accent kind of "established" as the dwarven accent i Thedas, though?

Technically, but we've had American/Canadian accented humans, such as Wynne.

Isabela had an english one too. So i guess her homecountry would share the accent.

He or she had a canon age range.
Hawke is at most mid-to-late 20s or early 30s at the start of DA2, regardless of how you customize your character.
