Synthesis is canon, well my fanfic and headcanon says no, so Biowares idea can be their own, and mine vice versa. They just have the resources to make theres a video game.

Makes sense since it's the best option where peace reigns, no races wiped out, and Shepard is stardust. Also it's the most sci-fi-y of sci-fi endings, it's Asimovian.


They COULD look better though, the green glowing stuff is kinda lame.

The same can be said about Destroy, albeit without the need for reaper tech indoctrinating everyone or Shepard dying because a Reaper said it was a good idea,

I'd be pretty disspointed if they went with Synthesis wouldn't of been my first choice but I'll wait until a official announcement is made on this to pass judgment. No offense to Miss Merizan but what she's says on this matter means jack squat.

What would be the purpose of having a canon ending after all the emphasis on choice?  The only way to make it work is to have a sequel using your old save data and work from there and that's pretty much not going to happen. That would be an incredible endeavor.  If Bioware did somehow make 3 games into a sequel, that would blow my mind. 


They kind of painted themselves into a corner on this one. So many people would be so unhappy if Synthesis was canon and they based ME4 on that. Just like others would be disappointed with Destroy or Control as canon. 


I call BS on this source.

Except this can't stay that way if they want to make a sequel.

If this sequel happens to have Synthesis as cannon it's gonna be really, really dumb. Not only because I dislike synthesis, but also because it's main pro is 'peace' and if they remove that...then why the hell pick it?

I'd expect a spin off. A new direction.

Same. Odds are it will either be a prequel or a spinoff duing ME1-3 but not after.

Well I certainly hope this is true. Picking a canon ending would certainly estrange many many people who had an emotional connection with Mass Effect.

You can hope as much as you want, but [no offence to Ms. Merizan], she is not the first source to answer lore related questions, or questions in general related to future products. Omega is going to be announced soon, and officialy we know less then what this supposed leak says about ME4. 
The idea is ridicules ( no offence to OP or his brother).

I'd take this with a pinch of salt, all we seem to have here is someone saying they heard someone give an answer. There is no video or audio proof, and Merizan hasn't come on here to confirm whether it was said or not.

I don't believe they would go with Synthesis like this, especially after the pure revulsion expressed by most players. However, if they go with a canon ending, it is most likely to be the most commonly picked ending.

The Catalyst did say "Now that we know it is possible, it is inevitable that we will reach synthesis.

The Crucible and Shep's sacrifice just gives it a head start.
