1) Sebastian Vael - He has a great deal of character potential and his story has yet to be concluded. (I hate him too, or love to hate him I suppose, but I can't stand to see things so open ended with a character that has so much development to give)

2) I'd like to have a Chasind of some description. I don't know anything about their culture and I'd love to learn, how better to learn than with a Chasind Barbarian? Preferably a Female Chasind Barbarian, because who doesn't love a woman that can kick their arse?

3) Feynriel - Despite the fact he has a multiple choice fate(we've seen it changed before), Feynriel is the most interesting character from Dragon Age 2, for me at least, and his unique powers make him someone I would love to see again - Not to mention he has a lot of character potential, he matured in Dragon Age 2 and I would like to see how he progresses from that, and masters his powers.

4) Cullen - This is another request based on character potential, like Sebastian. I'm not personally a fan of his character, but I can't deny his potential either. His character has already evolved through-out Dragon Age Origins and Dragon Age 2 and, despite the fact we know so little about him, we know enough to see that the potential is there.

5) There's a very specific archetype that I would like to see in a Dragon Age game. It has no name to be offered up (though I suppose you could compare him to Tyrion Lannister from the Ice and Fire books), but pretty much someone that appears to be the "Dashing Rogue" but in actuality they're a character in turmoil - Full of self-loathing and impotent rage, completely consumed by bitter hatred.

So there ya go. A relatively objective list, I think.

Editted: Because I only just noticed my chronic English failures.

1. Cole. I read Asunder as soon as it was released and I can't hate him no matter what. Such a tortured soul! I think his abilities would make him a great and interesting (not to mention unique) companion.

2. Cullen. I want a Templar companion and who better than someone who went through everything at Kirkwall and the fall of the Mage Tower in Ferelden?

3. A female elf. But I think snarky elves are overdone as are timid ones. So I dunno how I'd want their personality to be.

4. A dwarf with a love of alcohol. To keep that companion slot going.

5. Something mythical a la Shale. Not a golem but something along the lines of a rarity.

I'd want all new companions, though...

I'd like to see Cullen return, this time as a companion (LI or not). He's been peripheral to some key happenings in Thedas now (Blight and mage/templar war sparked), and I think, being a templar who is at least familiar to the gamers would be an interesting viewpoint. For such a minor character he has undergone huge leaps of development from a love struck young man (origins, mage origin story) in the tower to a damaged idealist who had his ideals crushed. He picked himself up after that to be one of the few voices of reason in Kirkwall's templar Order (despite he had his own deep rooted issues about mages, leaving him a very conflicted person). To a young man who questions "am I doing what's right vs what I've been told", and makes his own choice to stand by Hawke when he sees how wrong his Commander is. There is a wealth of story there just waiting to unfold with a protagonist. Even if he isn't a companion, I'd love to see him come back as another NPC we meet, greet and get to know.

For Archtypes I'd like to see:

A grey warden with his own agenda to play. Maybe he betrays (or seems to betray) the PC at some critical point in the story.

An older warrior about ready to hang up his spurs (maybe an old chevalier). Honorable, steadfast, (sort of like Keldorn from BG2). Or cranky and mean spirited, but you learn of some secret heartache in his past that makes him that way. And you can help him deal with it, like he was disgraced for something he didn't do. S&S type warrior.

A lyrium smuggler (who may or may not be a dwarf) who is part and parcel of the underground movement of goods to renegade mages/templars.

An idealistic kid who is 'rescued' from some danger who becomes the PC's 'sidekick', and we watch the character grow into someone who can stand strong on their own two feet, and be a worthy companion. (Ala Gabrielle of Xena, Warrior Princess).

3. Varric
4. Cassandra
5. Cullen

Of those I don't expect to see Alistair again, or Morrigan, but I have hope for Varric and Cassandra. Cullen I'm sure will be in the game in some capacity, but as a companion? Less certain.
Excited either way about the companions to come. Bioware's games always have good characters.

Of the previous companions, I'd like to see Morrigan and Varric back. Alistair and Sten (not a Sten, Sten Sten) would be most welcome too. I imagine both Leliana and Cassandra will be back as well. I know that's 6, but still...

New, original characters, that don't feel like I've seen them in previous BioWare games. So...
1. No naive, cute and innocent guys/girls that make You puke from all the sweetness.
2. No guys/girls that die ten minutes after we meet them, just for the dramatic effect, but no one cares cause we barely knew them.
3. No wise mentors, that always lecture You and moan if You didn't do what they wanted.
4. Definitively, no guys/girls that are evil sociopath's just for the sake of it.
I don't care about races, classees, looks etc. as long as You avoid those archetypes.

1. Arcane Warrior
2. Tal-Vashoth
3. A funny-man (Varric, Awakening Anders)
4. A character who sides with the Templars and has compelling arguments and doesn't seem crazy (Could be Cullen, could be someone else)
5. A mage who isn't like Anders or Merril who has succumbed to all of the bad things about mages, how about a Wynne-type who's conflict comes from their backstory, and they don't have any demons or spirits, or are terribly Anti-Templar, or whatever.

My personal preference:

1. Male human warrior lead. (Bisexual heavy romance, sarcastic guy ala m!hawke)
2. Female human rogue lead (Bisexual heavy romance, angry girl ala f!hawke)
3. Female dwarven warrior. (Adventurous and straight forward, Perhaps straight light romance/fling? )
4. Male kossith rogue/warrior. (Action guy, Gay light romance/fling?)
5. Female elven mage.(Cute girl, Lesbian light romance/fling?)
6. Some male mage to be straight light romance or fling.

I rather two bisexual and well written companion leads important to the plot, than more with little to no interactions. The others could or could not be romanceable, though, I don't really care that much. ANd I don't want Cullen as a companion, maybe as a follower in the camp or something. Since I'm going mage, I just don't trust him.
