They're too caught up in their own headcanon to listen.
Ignoring facts is easy when they are this deluded.
I know its still headcanon just...EDI is just the prime example to show the effectivness of this ending.
I'm not calling her the Synthesis covergirl, just its so obvious...

Really? Because I saw an awful lot of glowing green skin and eyes, and pretty sure there was something going on at a genetic level, since you saw little green dots encaging strands of DNA. And if we're merging with synthetic "DNA", wouldn't there be some other traits from synthetics that organics get, the same way that EDI is now suddenly alive? Like, say for instance, bones that don't shatter in a stiff wind.Deadlysyns wrote...
But his bones would still break Synthesis seems to only apply to the mental Leveldaecath wrote...
Everyone say it with me now.
"SYNTHESIS IS STUPID!"
Please stop bothering trying to make any sense of any aspect of it because there is none. It's a bad fan-fic plot device to let Joker and EDI make out.
Oh no! I'm trying to analyze the Synthesis ending! Make it stop before my head implodes!

You mean she is into Pearl Jam now and shi*?...
Who knows?
Well, if that does turn out to be the case I may do another playthrough. But conversely do I no longer like pearljam? that would suck ass

the elcor no longer need to speak their emotions because theres no need.
volus and quarians ... suits no longer needed.
heck... everyone can go naked now. 1 species across the galaxy.
... no more calibration jokes.
... no more need for a shadowbroker.
And the best part is: everyone now says "I should go" instead of goodbye. that is if beings speak at all?
Thank you for the laugh...

I think you don't understand the idea behind synthesis. (By the look of it neither did Bioware).
What do you think "free of all weakness" means? Emotion is chaos, and the reapers are the solution for the chaos. Maybe it's not your fault that you don't understand it, it was Bioware who dropped the ball with their ****ty writing.

I honestly thought this is a more realistic reaction than what happens in Control where soldiers just start cheering when the Reapers leave. I mean, what if they're simply regrouping or defending something more important?
Frankly, if I was a soldier on the ground and saw the capital ships flying away, I wouldn't cheering like I just won. I would actually be wondering why they are flying away, because they could be just moving to attack a more significant target. The soldiers cheering in Control doesn't rest well with me.
Harbinger flew away from the beam and Major Coats wasn't like "YEEAAAHHHH!!!" he was like "my god, they're all dead!"

If you talk to EDI enough through-out the game and at the end, you will realise she already had emotions and was "alive".

Don't worry: come Mass Effect 4, I'm sure everyone will have gotten used to it and there'll be no mass suicides or anything.

I know that synthesis would be confusing at first but...the Reapers are technically no longer reaping...
If you were just turned into a techno-organic nightmare and could hear the thoughts of the Reapers and newly sentient husks (implied by the Catalyst to be an effect of Synthesis) you might not be in the best state to smile.
Besides that, Synthesis is just terible. The Reapers are alive and watching over us with watchful eyes, husks live, machines and organics are plugged into one another, and it's entirely possible everyone in the entire galaxy is now completely indoctrinated as a result.

EDI wasn't an emotionless AI. She wasn't even AI anymore, she was a lifeform capable of emotion.
I agree that EDI wasn't emotionless, but she was still an AI throughout the game. She was a fabricated thinking machine (as opposed to an evolved thinking machine like most of us posting on the boards here). She was doing all the things one might expect an AI to try to do.She didn't need any magic synthesis to fix a problem she didn't have.

From what I gathered, everyone is pretty much the same as they were before,
But more intelligent, more knowledgible, more emotional and have green eyes.
There is nothing to suggest that the galaxy has only one species. You see in the ending slideshow that all the different races are the same as before.
That memorial scene in the Normany is the same as the other two endings.
Most of what happens afterwards is similiar to what happened in the other two endings.
The races are pretty much diverse as before. They've just been upgraded.
The races that changed the most are probably the reaper footsoldiers (like husks, brutes, banshees etc).

Synthesis was bogus. You already proved peace was possible. All synthesis does is let the Catalyst and the Reapers live, and possibly indoctrinates every single living person in the galaxy.
Why in the hell should anyone be cheering in Synthesis? They've all been genetically modified against their will, forced to plug into the geth and the Reapers, who are now at the top of the food chain, husks are sentient, and lets not even start on the socio-technological implications ala Mordin's speech in ME2 about the Collectors. No limitations no advancement, no advancement, culture stagnates.

We can't do a damn thing against the Reapers in Synthesis. They don't pay, I bet they don't even apologize. Why would they? They were always right, after all, but it's okay because everything is green rainbows and cybernetic butterflies!
What a load of croc.
