I would like a similar sound to the first two games but with a bit more emotion for certain scenes. I quite like the Mass Effect 3 soundtrack and it makes certain scenes unforgettable. I wouldlike a fantasy themed dramatic soundtrack for scenes like character deaths and betrayals. There will still be room for typical dragon age sounding tracks but I would love a really emotional side to the soundtrack as well.

Something kind of like this - www.youtube.com/watch

some trance /techno and other electronica would be cool in appropriate areas.

tots fer srys.

No, I actually liked the DA2 music for the most part. If they can continue that majestic, fantasy feel with some of the sweeping emotional stuff from the ME3 soundtrack I'd be pleased.

Either way, it seems like Bioware always does really well with their music.

I liked the music from KoA, something similar to what was used there would be nice.

No way... It's a fantasy game. Electronic music wouldn't fit.

I dunno, Clint Mansell is a bit untested when it comes to scoring fantasy settings, and his style so far seems better suited to modern and sci-fi settings.

Inon Zur (the composer for the first two DA games) would be an acceptable, if uninspired, choice. Meanwhile, I continue to hope for the return of either Jeremy Soule's cinematic orchestral or Jack Wall's brilliant fusion style. One can dream, aye?

I don't know, that seems a little too highbrow for this genre.

I'd enjoy lots of distinct ethnic sounds for the various locations of the game. Something like chamber music for Orlais (I loved the music for Leliana's Song DLC though), something brassy, dark, and sweeping for Ferelden, Tchaikovsky-eque overtures for Nevarra, etc. I imagine Rivain to be heavy on percussion and tribal woodwinds, and Antiva on folksy guitar and vocals.

Something like this for back-street Orlais would be neat, with something more stuffy whenever courtesans are involved. And church bells. Religious nations go hand in hand with bells in my mind. :P

Suprez30 is on the right track there. The music needs to suit the game. the music from DA:O and DA2 was great. Love to hear more of it.
If you've ever seen a show called Sanctuary something along the lines of it's opening theme song would be awesome at some point during the game (the way the tune was created and the instruments used are really interesting)

Honestly, I think the last two games did it pretty much perfectly. I almost always felt drawn in.

Perhaps there could be a little more diversity in this one. The compositions in DA2 felt very tightly tied together thematically and in terms of the instrumentation, which made sense for the kind of guided narrative taking place within a single place that was that game, but maybe that won't be the case in this one.

I prefer Skyrim or LotR style, but DA:O was also very good.(If I remember right the linked song in the first post is Ostagar)

What I don't like is Metal or similar sounding music.

I loved the Origins sound track. It just had the medeival feel to it. It really fit in in with the Origins theme and time period. DA 2 track was good too. It felt city-fied for Kirkwall and it's surrounding areas.

I prefer accousitcal music (orchestrat style). If you get to modern (synthesized) it can take away from the feeling of the medieval period that DA is set in. [I understand the ME games being more (synthesized) because of being set in the future.]

I can say having the musical score reflect the time period by using instrumentals from the same era makes the game more interesting. And it makes me feel I'm 'living' what I'm playing.

Music does have a profound effect on what you experience in the DA games.

The least they could do is add some Inception horns.

Is that too much to ask for?
