 I am almost finished with all my achievements, but seeing as the one needs to have the highest level of readiness in each section, it means I will have to bite the bullet and try the multiplayer again. So, my question is this: Will it always throw you into a match with whoever is on at that moment or can you play with a set of friends together? I don't really like playing anything with people I don't know, but have plenty of friends who are willing to give it a shot if we can all do it together. I am almost finished with my Insanity run and really want to try to finish all the achievements for it too and while the one can be done either in multiplayer gold or sp Insanity, the other is strictly a multiplayer only achievement.

Set up a lobby, either you or one of your friends, and set it to "Private" under "Mission Settings". Then invite whoever you want to play with.

Yes, you can play with friends. Create new match instead of quick match, set it to private, and send out xbl invites to your friends as you normally would through the dashboard (or press x from the lobby). Have fun! You may even find it's better than you expected...

To clarify you can have a maximum of 4 players in a lobby but you can play solo if you wish.

Wait, you can play multiplayer by yourself?? Um that doesn't click for me. Don't you need at least one other person?

and thanks for the Welcome, maybe if I get the hang of it I will play with others too. I have social issues with talking to unknown people, I know weird, but hey, its all about little steps. A year and a half ago I never had played anything on an xbox anyway, so maybe one day I can bite my phobia,lol

To be honest, if I were on Xbox, I'd have social issues too.

Getting on the forum and actually talking to people is a major step for me, so I figure someday I will conquer the phobia of talking to unknown people. Who knows, maybe playing MP will be my stepping stone,LOL

Playing with people you know is much better I think, especially early on. Just stick with bronze until you're comfortable with the classes and maps, don't worry about the specter or premium packs until you've got some basic equipment levelled up a bit, and have fun. There's a lot to enjoy in the mp (and I speak as someone who was fanatically against it when I heard it was going to be included).

Yes you can solo MP..I have soloed Bronze and Silver and there are quite a number of folks who have soloed Gold and these days even Platinum.
Lots of video's on youtube showing them doing it as well

Probably best if you do it with friends though as the starting MP weapons are pretty ordinary and not well suited to solo play.

I tried it on the demo and didn't like the feel of it and freaked when unknown people were trying to add me as a friend so we could talk on the mic while playing. So I really am hoping playing with friends in it will help me to like it and also be able to play with others too. It sucks, because I really want to play it and really try it, but just couldn't do it with strangers.

Well if your intent is only to raise your galactic readiness rating to 100% for an achievement, it will be a very short stepping stone.

I'd warn you about Gold on multiplayer though: The enemies have recieved numerous buffs, and are actually stronger than they are on Insanity for the most part. If you're new to multiplayer (as your post implies) you'll want to avoid public games. Play with friends or other forum memebers willing to help.

OP, I'm more than willing to play some matches with you to get that Achievement if you're on XBox, I owe it to others, cause that's how I got mine.

Funny thing is, I don't play on a PC. But monocles are not exclusive to the Master Race, I always wear one while playing. I don't smoke though, bad for the lungs and all that. 

Anyway, I didn't want to generalize or anything, chill. If that's what came out, scrap it. Besides, no need to take it personally either way. Cheers.

Thanks Yajuu, I may take you up on it. I tried it and died miserably too,lol. Amazing, I play the game on Hardcore all the time and working on my Insanity run, so I figured no big deal, I can do this...haha...I died fast and painfully, very painfully. But I will keep trying and hopefully get the feel of it too
