I wonder what the default race in the creation screen will be and, if it's not human, if that will effect the stats of what people make (I'm guessing everyone on this forum has a plan rather than just clicking the defaults, but I mean with other people)

It will likely be human as it always has been.

I have 9 inquisitors semi-planned, one of each race/gender combination at least (there's an extra female elf). I don't think I'll have the time to get through them all, but I wanted to make 9 so I can dedicate a playthrough to each specialization and also go through all the romance options available.

Anyway, so I won't list them all but my first and main world state will be with a female elf rift mage. After that, I'll see what I wanna play next.

First playthrough is most likely going to be a human warrior. I'm basing him on a Paladin I played in Icewind Dale years ago, two handed off-tank type, devout but not zealous with the common man of higher importance than blind devotion to teh Chantry. probably specialise as either Champion or Templar depending on how the skills play out.

I'm very much looking forward to playing an older character this time around without the plot and dialogue making that choice seem silly. So hes going to be mid-40's, grizzled, dark hair turning to grey if possible and with the most glorious beard I can muster. Blackwall is the sort of thing I'll be going for.

I am hoping that beards in Frostbite engine won't look so much like joke ones stuck on with glue.

First one's gonna be an Elf Mage (Romance Josephine) and next one's a Human Rogue (Sera). Both female. I haven't planned any more yet, but I definitely want to do a Qunari run as well.

I have to go with a feamle human mage while romancing Cullen, then a male Qunari rouge romancing Iron Bull(is it a romance option for male characters) I really can't wait for the game to come out is there going to be some kind of short free trail on any game platform(x-box 360 for mine)

I've always been a mage guy since Origins, so I would probably go with a female human mage. The looks? Well, I love my ladies with shoulder-length hair so that's probably a good start. Oh and no tattoos. I hate tattoos.

My planned inquisitors keep changing with ever little tidbit of info released :)

My updated list is

Dalish Rift mage. Female with a Solas romance. She will be a bit like Marethari personality wise, and her magics will invoke spells of winter, stone and rift.

Human male Templar. The human background seems to fit a templar or mage character. My templar will be fair, not unlike Cullen or Evangeline (character from Asunder). Love interest will most likely be Cassandra. Fighting style will incorporate two handed sword, which i believe will work well with the stun that smite provides.

My third character im undecided on. He will either be a snarky human necromancer or qunari knight enchanter. Romance options will be Josephine or Dorian.

I have posted my Female Human Mage here on this thread, her LI was Josephine.

But, now I've thought about the other characters and I have made some more inquisitor's. I'm even thinking of changing my first playthrough from the Female human mage to a Female Dalish Mage, LI being Solas. The more I think of Solas, it makes me wonder why he is so gated and for story reasons, he looks like a mentor to the Inquisitor in closing fade Rifts as seen in the Enemy of Thedas trailer.

Another inquisitor would be a Male Warrior Qunari, romance being Cassandra. Also, playing with the idea of Blackwall with a Cadash inquisitor.  :)

I am down between one of two options for my initial playthrough; though like @themageguy said, my plans are subject to change.

Anyway my two choices are either:

Turgid Cadash (subject to change) a male Dwarf Rogue (possibly an) Artificer that is going to ride the War Nug and (possibly) romance Josephine or Cassandra.

I intend to play this character as a Chaotic Good guy, and I will seek to achieve peace whenever possible. I also plan on recruiting various fantasy creatures to the Inquisition's side (if the game will let me). I will role-play him similar to Solus in that he is going to be unbiased about things like the fade entities, as well as things like giants or werewolves. Coming from a background in the dwarven Carta, my rogue knows the value of having a diverse set of resources to accomplish a task, so anyone, or anything that is willing to help him defeat the Elder One is welcome to join the fight.

OR

Veryan Lavellan (subject to change) a male Elf Mage Necromancer that is going to ride the Bog 'Unicorn'; named Din-Gurth (Elf for Silent Death); and (possibly) romance Josephine or Cassandra.

I intend to play this character as a Lawful Evil guy. He is a Dalish in name only, and truth be told he cares not for the plight of 'his people', the only thing that he cares about is learning more about magic and acquiring lost and forbidden arts. This character will recruit any and all to his cause, but he will not be a noble mediator in negotiations. An iron fist and an iron will will define his rule, and those that will not join him will be dealt with severely and permanently, and then used as undead forces in the Necromancer's growing army.

I am really torn on which one I want to use first (any suggestions wouldn't hurt  :)), though I will say that my use of the Necromancer specialization will depend entirely on whether I can actually create and command undead minions with it. If I am not going to be able get the DA:I equivalent of the pet class, then my elf character will unfortunately be scrapped. I mean isn't the whole point of playing as a necromancer being able to command your undead legions?  B)

I like your necromancer. Sounds so badass

Thanks.

I tend to envision him similar to Sauron, before and during the forging of the rings of power. A being appearing fair and beautiful, but one that is cold, calculating, and manipulative.

My first play through will be

Human Male warrior andrastian pro-circle. probably a Champion or Templar spec.

Elf mage Moderate pro-elven independence. rift spec.

I never play as a dwarf and i really don't know what kind of character a qunari playthrough should be but i have time  :P

Most of my planned characters are female elves or humans, and either mages or rogues. Appearance? Eh, that's not too important, at least not right now.

Dwarves? Qunari? Maybe after a couple of the playthroughs mentioned above.

Dudes? Nah… well, I've got no plans for it.

I plan on playing as a male human Inquisitor. My Trevelyan will be a warrior class but I'm still deciding on whether to choose either the Champion or Templar specialization. He'll have a diplomatic personality, but can be aggressive when the situation calls for it. Love interest will either be Cassandra Pentaghast or Josephine Montilyet. Sympathetic towards mages, but no tolerance for blood mages.

I'll start with Human Male Rogue to complete my Human Male Mage (DA:O), and Human Male Fighter (DA II) trio. Second time through I'll use Human Male Mage. Third time through I'll use Elven Male Rogue. Then Elven Male Mage.

I usually play a rouge first off but the whole Knight Enchanter thing has caught my interest, so I'll play a male Qunari mage.

Male elf archer/rogue :) Preferably something NOT "city" or "Dalish" ... something different.

Le gasp, you're gonna play as an elf? I didn't see that coming.

Didn't see this a year ago, so quoting it now so's I can tug on your ear for being a snarky lil bastard

Also, it's funny to see how little we knew only a year ago. I wonder what I was hoping to play? Country elf? LOL Silly me.
