I almost always choose to play my first game as a female rogue (Elf when possible. In every fantasy game I came across) with specialization assassin.
I was tempted to try the mage...but I love too much lockpit, and in the end I always settle for the rogue. sometimes I can use the specialization duelist or hunter. depends by the kind of character I want to play.
What race, gender, appearance, and class of character do you plan to play in DA:I?

Female mage or rogue. Leaning towards mage because I'll be more involved in the mage/templar conflict.

if the game is good, all, but I usually start with a warrior, because it tends generally to have good survival.

I like playing dualwielding classes. If I can do something like the dao dex rogue/dw warrior, I'll do it. If not I dunno, most likely a rogue. Unless of course they bring back the spirit warrior tree. Boy that was awesome.

In DAO I was the unstoppable Arcane Warrior.
In DA2 the dual wielding Rogue looked too fun to pass up.
If the Rogue in DA3 is as cool as the one in DA2 then I'll stick with that.

I think I'll go with an archer, I always loved everything related to bow & arrow since I read Green Arrow for the first time (I'm trying to become an archer myself, actually, but somehow I'm afraid I won't use my bow to kill dragons).
Anyway, Archers are good for a second or third walktrough, usually I start with a classic Warrior or (for DA2) Mage which gives a larger point of view on what the game has to offer.

DAO = Rogue, (warrior in my head canon, just preferred the rogue playstyle)
DA2 = Mage
DA3 = Rogue is currently winning. I don't fancy being a mage if I am the Inquisitor people are speculating we are. Planning to go for a anti-mage character, since last two were pro-mage, (even if Hawke sided with Meredith after Anders blew the Chantry to smithereens).

Just reading about the FFXIV today on this link:
http://www.ign.com/a...n-playstation-3
They mention this:
Chocobos will also play a much larger role. They’ll no longer just be for travel, but can be raised and actually brought into battle to fight alongside you and make soloing a little bit easier. While raising the Chocobos, you’ll be able to customize their battle role, so they can become casters or up-close fighters. It'll also be possible to store them in stables attached to player-owned housing, where you can keep multiple types of raised Chocobos.
Just change the word Chocobos for --> Dragon, Wolf, Dog, Pet and the word player-owned housing ---> player owned castle and DAIII will be awesome!
Maybe the called "backgrounds" of the player profile that will influence the game can be seen as "Jobs". Please put a breeder in the game with such opportunity to raise a selected race in the game!

Given we don't know much about the character or how they fit into the world, I've got no clue so far. I played primarily rogues in DAO because I liked that style the best. In DA2, though, I personally connected more with Hawke's story when Hawke was a mage, so I never got past Act 1 with anything else. I'll wait to see more about the story before I make any determination about class.

1st playthrough:
DAO: Male Rogue (Dwarf)
DA2: Male Mage
DA3: Female Warrior (maybe a rogue, though, if it looks like non-combat skills will matter at all)
2nd Playthrough
DAO: Female Mage (elf)
DA2: Female Warrior
DA3: Male Mage (not sure yet, though)
I'm hoping it will be possible to import decisions from DAO without having to go through DA2. I've tried to continue the continuities of a few of my other Wardens, but I can't get through all of DA2 with them, so if I could import from DAO with defaults for DA2, that would be wonderful.

I don't know yet!
It depends on what looks most fun when combat is released. Mages were definitely the funnest class to play as in DA:O, where they were the LEAST fun in DA2 in my opinion.
That said ... I played a warrior in DA:O for my first game, and a rogue in DA2, so maybe a mage for my first game in DA3 would be cool. I DON'T KNOW, I'll see.

I usually play as a warrior or rogue on my first play through, so this time I think I'll start out as a mage, plus I wanna see if playing as the mage class during this whole Templar rebellion thing will have any repercussions or cause npcs to react to you differently depending on their opinions of magic etc.

For DA:O a female elf mage, for DA2 a male mage. I have created a rogue for my next play through of all games. When DA:I comes out I will probably do the same!

Warrior, I don't know about gender yet. I just don't like my main character to be a mage.
