I always start with a mage, unless there is some compelling reason not to (like in DA:O – I wanted to check out the City Elf and Human Noble origin stores). : )
What race, gender, appearance, and class of character do you plan to play in DA:I?

It depends, but it will depend on the companions and new skills for each class. I always play as warrior, but this time I want to go for a rogue. I think it fits with the main theme of the upcoming game.

Rogues better fit the game, be on the cover, etc etc. Warriors and Mages had their respective games with DAO and DA2.

Rogue in DA:O, warrior in DA2. Hopefully a warrior in DA:I too.

Play them all ofcourse, but I plan on starting as a mage, or a warrior if they made it better than DA2s warrior combat.
Oh how I miss my Sword and Shield build being useful like in DAO. One of the best builds, but totally worthless in DA2.

My MAIN DA:O was Male Warior, DA2 was Male Mage, so my DA:I looks like Male Rouge I think it nice to play as it to since the Templar's (Warriors) and Mages are fighting it would be a nice foreground. Is that the right word?

The right word is "rogue"

Thought it didn't look right.

No worries, a TON of people here make the mistake of calling rogues "rouges". I have no idea why its such a frequent mistake but alas, you are not alone. Its all good.

I adored The Chavelier of Maison Rouge AND The Three Musketeer series by Dumas and I am either making Lorin the smart mouth poet(bard) who is as loyal to people as one can possibly be. Or D'Artagnan(Duelist) who can be a sharp and even harsh sly character who is usually loyal to his allies but a very strong selfish streak.
Either way for once I will be playing a rogue.

My first playthrough is always a mage. I love being a mage. Plus I think it fits well with the theme.

Mage, of course. I generally played a female elf mage in DAO, my Hawke was a female mage and my Inquisitor will be.
It'll suck if BioWare forces us to lose the war though so I've prepared for that too. My backup is warrior. I played a female city elf warrior in DAO, a female rogue Hawke in DA2 (would have been warrior but sword/shield warrior kinda sucked in DA2), and would play as a sword/shield female warrior Inquisitor.

Male warrior/Templar for the Templars as main character then a female mage for the mages faction of course if you will be able to choose the side.

Warrior. I did DAO with a sword-and-board, and DA2 with two-hander.

Assuming I get around to playing this one, warrior. Makes more sense if I'm on the templar side of the divide.

Female noble rogue in DAO and female rogue in DA2 and barring any unforeseen circumstances I'll be playing a female rogue in DA3. Just can't get enough of that backstabbing and lockpicking! Plus somehow rogues seem to fit into the that middle ground character I like to play it's almost as if warriors should favor templars and mages favor themselves while the rogue is the ultimate take a third option character. Of course this isn't true but it still kinda feels like it.

Two-handed Sword wielding Warrior.
Female or male, will depend on the Voiceactors.
I stick with the classics. ^^

If I am allowed to - dual wield warrior. Otherwise it will probably be sword and board warrior.
