Since I played pro-mage most of the time in DA2 and I've been recently playing a couple of mages in both DAO and DA2, I want to play a templar fanatic the first DAI playthrough.
I'll have to see how's the story of Inquisition, but I'm planning of making a human woman called Agatha. With heavy armor, sword and shield and a big ugly scar. If possible a fire scar from a fireball and an eyepatch (I doubt there will be any eyepatch thogh).
Later a dwarf. Just because dwarves are awesome.
What race, gender, appearance, and class of character do you plan to play in DA:I?

Indeed, I've been planning a human woman for months and now I have more (better) options? Damn you BioWare, you ruined my plans! lol

Yeah, I was planning a human lady, mage or rogue most like.
But now?
Reconsiderations.
I don't normally go dwarf, but I might. I'm more inclined to go human or elf.

I wonder how fun playing a femdwarf would be. Also, whether I should go warrior or rogue.
I'd probably go...oh damn it I don't know
GAH THIS IS EXCITING

I will eventually play as all classes, as for the genders and races I have not yet decided. I waiting for more news on weapons, races and story before I make up my mind.

Short answer: Mage. Hopefully I won't get the narrative shaft for wanting to be one though, i.e. Bethany getting killed in DA2 just because Gaider didn't want two mages in the same core family story so you get saddled with Carver who had the appeal of wood.

I am a tree and I find that offensive. Even though as a tree I still dug Bethany like way the hell more.
So many more options now. I think I'm definitely most likely playing a fem character in DA:I so I've just gotta decide between
Fem Human Warrior
Fem Human Mage
Fem Human Rogue
Fem Elven Warrior
Fem Elven Mage
Fem Elven Rogue
Fem Dwarven Warrior
Fem Dwarven Rogue
I don't typically play dwarves or mages, but I can't do both at the same time, so maaaaaan

I played all the possible permutations, but I'm fond of a particular male City Elf rogue which I played the last. I used every possible situation for snarking and kinda wrote a full backstory and alternate dialog for making him go full snark.
In DA][ I played a female Mage and it was cool.
I'll probably go elf again or maybe a dwarf rogue or warrior. Yeah, I'll play hyu-mann the last and it'll probably be a mage. Not sure the gender though. I wanna know who's gonna be the Inquisitor's voice.

DAO- Male Human Noble Sword and Shield Warrior
DA2- Female Rogue Archer
I like to explore different options but see, here's the thing-
Hawke to me is someone I'd like to try and ignore/forget.
Like, I don't want Hawke to be paired up with The Warden as important. I don't even want to think of Hawke.
I'd rather think of The Inquisitor as being as important as The Warden, so it breaks open the gate of playing a lady again.
Even a Rogue Archer. So we'll see. Maybe this time it'll be a dwarf of elf.

More than likely a female elf rogue. But if Bioware does "Dare to go to four" Saarebas all the way. Hell, if they do add Qunari, my first three playthroughs will all be Qunari.

Since my DA:O characters was dwarven rogue, and my DA:II characters was a human mage... I guess my DA:III PC should be an Elven Warrior...
Or I could just go for symmetry and do Dwarven Rogue again, yeah, that sounds good.
EDIT: Grappling hook! Warriors get a grappling hook! My Elven Warrior is starting to look awesome!

Generic human male the first playthrough. Rogue probably. And then with my amazing meta-knowledge a female elf mage.
Wow. Bioware better not take away the races now. I didn't expect to look forward to them so much. If they do I shall birth kittens.

If they take them away, that would be a colossal hit. Ouch.
Doubt it.

I probably said male mage somewhere earlier in the thread, just add kossith/elf to the front of that.

All of them, eventually.
But I always start out playing as a sword and board warrior.

Anything that lets me play whirling twirling blades of death.
Edit: And probably an elf, cause the option is back. As for gender... that depends on the VA options.
Give me a charcater voiced by Claudia Black and that's all I'd ever play. Except that'd be weird if you got to meet Morrigan.
Or double awesome. I'm conflicted.

Female Human/Elven Rogue as in every games (if can) and on my second playthrough i will try warrior class, unless they will add some new classes into DA:I.

DA:O style combat means I'm forced to play a mage. Probably an elf (at leasts there's still that).

I'd love to be an alchemist.
Then load myself up with alchemist fire and bombs and throw them at people.
Of course that'd make me a walking bomb... LIGHT THE FUSE!! CHAAAAAAAARGE!!
