What race, gender, appearance, and class of character do you plan to play in DA:I?

If I buy the game then I certainly try the mage class and templar warrior specialization. In time I'll play them all, though. I am not a fan of warriors, because I see no point in running towards your death. A templar I would play just to see how that specialization interacts with the story. I am more of a ranged combatant. It all depends on bow strings, though. No bow strings, no buy.

If the game is to my liking, all of them.

Male warrior prob. maybe a female warrior though, if I do a second playthrough I will play as female.

I mostly play as mage.....as in 95% of the time or more. I usually end up trying warrior/rogue for about 30 seconds before I go: "oh so that's what it feels like to chase every opponent across the map and run back and forth a million times during a one minute battle!!! That's enough of that, back to my mage then."

Depends on a lot of things. How each class plays, representation of classes among party members, etc. I'm going to tentatively guess Male Warrior though.

Dual-wielding warrior, Beastmaster or Arcane Warrior.

I always play the magic class first if possible. I always like to make a ruthless pragmatic female rogue for alternate playthroughs though. I usually don't touch 'warrior/brute' classes the gameplay and aesthetics usually don't appeal to me.

Female Mage. Might switch to Rogue *IF* they remove the teleporting stuff.

Female rogue, preferably duelist. My first character, in games that allow it, is always a female rogue.

Probaly first a male archer or a female duelist. Rogues really do have the most fun.
After that I will play the other classes as well.

I'm going to be a mage rain fireballs and giant tidal waves.

I'll eventually get around to all the classes, but I'll start out as a rogue. Dwarf, if I can have one!
I love the stabby-stabby, faster-paced combat. I love the "aha! You didn't see me coming, and now you are dead!"
I also get seriously ticked if I can't open every chest and locked door. And I always felt like Hawke's lady body was more consistent with a rogue's build than anything.

As always with these kind of games (and if the options make it possible), I'll play a Male Mage first, then a Male Warrior, followed by a Female Rogue.

Probably warrior, though it may depend on which companions i like the sound of on paper.

I would personally like for them to have the Origins/backgrounds separate from class in mos cases, if possible, similar to what ME1 did.
ME1 let you pick two quantifies, your upbringing and your claim to fame, essentially. You could choose between being a colonist (growing up in a fledgling space colony), being a military brat (raised on frigates in space) or Earth born (where you were an orphan from one of Earth's mega-cities, living the mean streets as a gang member). In addition, you could be famous for being the only soldier who survived a deadly Thresher Maw ambush, proving how tough you are mentally and your skills as a solider (Sole Survivor), you could be a hero, defying odds and holding out against superior numbers in a colony attack until back up arrived (War Hero) or you could lead your men into a suicide mission, sacrificing their lives and doing whatever it takes to get the job done (Ruthless).
If DA3 were to incorporate this (say, making a different opening if you were a city dweller, a county peasant or a noble's child) and then let you choose a reason you are famous (and, hence, why the Inquisiton would put you in charge of anything - options could be putting down an Elven rebellion, fighting dark spawn hordes that are stragglers from the Blight or taking down an Abomination one on one) and then ALSO allowing multiple origins based on class...
... then wow. That would be a game with an unheard of amount of replayability.

Warrior and rogue most likely. Not a big fan of magic characters as player characters.

Blood Mage

I'll probably play a male two-handed warrior first, as I always do.
However, it may also depend on what the BioWare marketing "main" is. If that turns out to be a female archer or something I may consider playing to that.

I almost always start out being a Rogue, love it, then mage comes next

Rogues, rogues and more rogues. I only played one rogue in DA2 -not even finished it- because I didn't want to lose Carver. Well, and because mages were fun too.

Rogue.

Templar Warrior. I shall bring the maker's wrath down upon the insolent mages who betrayed him.

Well, I certainly hope that Bioware has finally understood that this isn't a bloody multi-player game where class-balance is an issue. I want to play what I like the most: A Jack of all Trades!
It could be done in BG and BG2. It can be done in all TES games. It can be done in all Fallout games. So stop forcing my hand with restrictive character-classes. That, and the absurd, over the top combat-animations, was the main reason why DA2 was a no buy.
