I plan on playing as an elf mage or rogue. Will decide for sure when I have more info. If the mages have a similar combat style as in DA2 then definitly a mage. IDK about what gender yet.

A lady elf...probably a rogue, or a mage should I be inclined to change my mind for whatever reason.

The first will be a Dwarf Warrior like my "canon" Warden, there's no discussing that for me! Dragon Age Dwarves are definitely my favourite race, although I'm not sure if it's going to be male or female since I love 'em in every shape.

Then I'll do some trying. If there's Qunari/Kossith as a selectable race I may go with them as my first walkthrough but this is probably just wishful thinking.

I might actually try an elf this time - the concept art is looking really impressive.

I must admit that I didn't know there was such as a thing as bonus to magic by playing an elf?

Oh, yeah! Elves get +3 Magic and +2 Mana/Willpower in DA:O. =)

EDIT: I don't know for sure if it'll return in DA:I, but I hope it does!

Interesting. Even if there were no bonus, I'd surely be playing a female elven mage and love every second of it. I am, however, tempted to try additional runthroughs as something else just to see if there is a big difference to it. I liked the varied backstories in DAO which really were a great way to get the most out of the game but if they changed the entire experience according to gender and race? Now that would make for a LOT of extra hours of gaming.

Agreed! I don't think they'll be able to change the entire experience based on gender or race, but I think we'll see a lot more in-game reactivity. I think the devs have really been paying attention to criticisms of in-game acknowledgement to selectable backgrounds, origins, races, class etc. for past games. Like, how there isn't enough dwarf/elf specific comments after Ostagar, not enough people noticed our character was a (blood) mage, etc.
The amount of reactivity in DA:O is kind of enough for me, so anything more just thrilling! Posted Image

Female human mage (romancing Cassandra if possible), then an elf rogue (not sure about gender) to see how elves are treated differently, then Kossith if possible, otherwise I'm not sure.

In Dragon Age: Origins, I was a Male Dalish Elf, Rouge (Archer) by the name of Dante Mahariel.
In Dragon Age 2, I was a Female Human, Warrior (Sword & Shield) by the name of Valena Hawke.

<3So proud of my babies. <3 They're so bootyful. <3No mods either. <3 Xbox version of both games. <3

In Dragon Age: Inquisition, I'm at a loss.
I was planning on being a Male Human Mage up until I found out that we can choose a race again.
THANK THE MAKER.
So, at this point I will be a Male Elven Mage, either a Blood Mage or a Spirit Healer, by the name of Severan
He's my first choice.
If I change my mind I will probably be either a Male Dwarven Warrior (Two-Handed) by the name of Kostas.
Or a Female Dwarven Rogue (Daggers) by the name of Aubriel.

So.. is it Fall 2014 yet? Cuz I can't wait to get my hands on this character creator.

Now that I can be an elf, I'm going to be a female elf, just like my Warden. I really like having elves be the most badass people in a land that generally persecutes them.

I was originally going to do a rogue, but the more I think about it, I feel a mage will end up with more interesting things in the story (much like I thought Hawke was more interesting to play as a mage), so I may go with that.

I hope the number of people playing elves and dwarves goes up after not having the option for a few years.

Elf/blood mage

I love the idea of an elf who defies all convention and brutally punishes any hint of racism.

Add a sprinkle of superiority complex, and bam!

Character made.

I'm going with the default thing - male human warrior. I always play a male character myself being one irl and always play human because i have a better "connection" with the character(RP is easier for me this way I think) and warrior 'cus i like jumping in to the fray ^_^ but i do enjoy a warrior/spellcaster class, sooo maybe mage going arcane warrior if there is the option?

I'll probaly play a Elf Female Rogue since my charming City Elf Female Rogue Kallen was one of my favorite Wardens.

Elven warrior, ideally using two-handed swords. Male or female will depend on which voice I think I can manage to deal with for the sort of character I have in mind. I'd be happier with female, since I ended up with a male character in Dragon Age II and generally like to switch it out if I'm only going to be playing through a game once, but if DA II is any indication the female voice is less likely to work with the sort of character I'd want to play.

Replays are extremely unlikely with the voiced PC, sadly, even if I end up really liking the game. If by some chance there turn out to be more than two voices available, or (I do so wish) an option to turn the voice off, I'd start the replays off with probably some manner of mage, since that's what I've done the least. Probably elven, possibly human. And then mayhap a dwarven rogue. However, I'm guessing it's going to be limited to one playthrough for me.

My very first DA:O character was a 2h warrior lady dwarf noble. My first DA2 character was a 2h warrior LadyHawke. I suppose that means I should make my first DA3 character a 2h warrior elf chick. But ... we'll see where my whims take me. I'm sure I'll play at least a few times, though (unless the game is a disaster, but I have faith, dammit! Faith and hope!), so ultimately it won't matter much. I know I'll have at least one lady dwarf at some point, because I have to.
