I must admit that I didn't know there was such as a thing as bonus to magic by playing an elf?
Agreed! I don't think they'll be able to change the entire experience based on gender or race, but I think we'll see a lot more in-game reactivity. I think the devs have really been paying attention to criticisms of in-game acknowledgement to selectable backgrounds, origins, races, class etc. for past games. Like, how there isn't enough dwarf/elf specific comments after Ostagar, not enough people noticed our character was a (blood) mage, etc.Interesting. Even if there were no bonus, I'd surely be playing a female elven mage and love every second of it. I am, however, tempted to try additional runthroughs as something else just to see if there is a big difference to it. I liked the varied backstories in DAO which really were a great way to get the most out of the game but if they changed the entire experience according to gender and race? Now that would make for a LOT of extra hours of gaming.

I hope the number of people playing elves and dwarves goes up after not having the option for a few years.
