Have to hear the VA before I make a final decision but probably a Female Elf Mage.
What race, gender, appearance, and class of character do you plan to play in DA:I?

First playthrough is very much likely to have changed now to a Qunari Mage. Then an elf rogue(if dalish is the background), then every other combination as I uncover all the different ways the game can play out.

My playthroughs will go like this:
Human Male Mage > Female Elf Mage (Or Warrior) > Male Qunari Rogue > Female Dwarven Warrior.
Human Male Mage > Female Elf Mage (Or Warrior) > Male Qunari Rogue > Female Dwarven Warrior.

Will do a pretty clichéd series of playthroughs, mainly to show the world that mages are good and trustworthy.
DA:O - Human/Mage, DA2 - Human/Mage, DAI - Human/Mage
Since I usually play "myself" (more or less) in every first playthrough, they'll be male. Still wondering about a different race though. But my first playthroughs will probably human ones
(have yet to play DA2...).

I played a female Dalish rogue in Origins, and a female Mage in II. I'm probably going to be a female Qunari saarebas in Inquisition

I'll probably play a male human rogue for my first playthrough. Picking a human because it's easiest to relate to when I encounter every dilemma in the game for the first time.
Picking a rogue because it's faster paced than being a warrior, and I enjoy marking a single enemy for death and just unrelentingly dealing damage to it.
Male because I am male.
Afterwards, I'll try each race out, and alternate between male and female.

Elf rogue for first, blind playthrough, as always.
Elf mage for last and ultimate playthrough, as always.
The in between stuff depends on how awesome the game is. I'll want to give a dwarf a go, as well as qunari. I'm having trouble which ones will be female. I'm a man and I've always had trouble playing women in games. Particularly the romances.

Well, Gosh, I was originally going to play as a male Elf mage first; but now I might have to pick a male Qunari mage instead.

I finally have a plan for this:
Male Qunari Dual Wield Warrior, Female Elf Blood Mage, then Male Dwarf Sword+Shield Warrior.
This may be the first Bioware game since like... NWN where I don't have a "canon" PC.

1. Female dwarf warrior or rogue/ female elf mage
2. female qunari mage
3. Female elf SnS
4. Male Elf mage
5. Male Elf rogue
Yessir that's a few good playthroughs lined up, and that's not even taking the branching decisions that are probably in-game
So far my dwarf or my elf gals are tied with fem qunari so so so close

I wonder how the inclusion of qunari will affect the number of playthroughs as the Origins races

I changed my mind; female qunari all the way!

After today's announcement definatly a female qunari mage, while I may not like the qun I do like fact that they are race unique to DA. Eventualy I will get around to all the races as I did with Origins though.

By the looks of things, people are largely withdrawing their previous votes of elf and/or dwarf to play a qunari.

Needless to say, humans will remain top.

I might try Qunari, but I'm still leaning toward playing as a female dwarf templar.

Yeah, that's a given. *sigh*
I'll still be playing an elf and dwarf like I originally planned, just with a qunari as an extra playthrough.
Elf: Either a mage (with long hair and loose robes to get that free spirit motif) or a warrior (to subvert stereotypes).
Dwarf: Either an archer (to subvert stereotypes) or a warrior (to pull people down to eye level with a chain).
Kossith: Either a mage (if we get those cool lip stiches) or a two-handed warrior (because I've always wanted one).
Depends on what we encounter once we get to character creation.
