I'll play all races and classes eventually, but I'll probably start off with a dwarven rogue archer first, since I love dwarves, rogues and archers.  As for appearance, they'll probably be dark-haired and bearded, like my current dwarf noble archer that I'm playing as, during my 100th+ playthrough of Origins.

I think they should use a nonhuman female rogue or, at least a black female rogue like in that concept art. But the marketing department would never let them.

Edit: in case someone wonders why I think devs might want to / why I blame marketing.

Maybe they don't kill as many people unless it's a assassin, but dual wielding rogues are also the ones who move around the most.

Recently I've been playing a (female) rogue Hawke imagining her as the leader of the group, not as much killing herself as controling the battlefield, marking enemies for the others to attack, that short of thing. 

Don't know if that helps or aswers your question...  it's just my perspective.

I only play male characters, with a voiced protagonist. I tried a female character, but couldn't get past the voice. The first two characters are set. But i'm debating the order of the rest:

1. Human- DW- Rogue/ Diplomat
2. Qunari- Mage/ Elementalist
3. Elf- Archer
4. Human- Sword & Shield Warrior/ Templar
5. Dwarf- Rogue/ Greedy Assassin
6. Elf- Mage/ Nature
7. Qunari- 2 Handed Warrior
8. Human- Mage/ Healer
9. Dwarf- ?

I'll likely go human mage.

I dislike the non-humans because the game makes little to no effort to acknowledge that my PC isn't human.

Main Playthrough:
DAO - Male Dalish Warrior
DA2 - Female Mage
DA3 - Mother****ing Dwarf Rogue (Probably female)

Don't get me wrong- I'll play a Qunari eventually. It just seems hard to justify a Qunari Inquistor.

This probably sounds trivial, but I have a hard time playing DA:O as anything but a human because it seems so strange that an elf or dwarf could rise to a position of power in a human society.

I'm probably gonna feel the same way about DA:I, but I don't want to, damnit.

Soooo - it all depends on the story, I suppose? I'll probably play as a human warrior lady first to scope it out.

Well it all depends on the outcome of the coin toss at this point. Right now I feel kind of like a kid in a candy store with too many choices, if I go with my past favorite it will be Elf mage and I have already done my happy dance if the rumors are true that we will get to be Dalish

Human Male Warrior. Probably white and strong looking.

I want to have a unique character, and what is more unique than that!

After that probably a Qunari Mage who wants to be diplomatic and friendly to everyone for the ultra hard mode.

First playthrough is gonna be qunari female mage, cause thats just all kindsa wrong for everyone in the world around you, think it will be the most interesting, but im planning on playing as EVERYTHING. But definatly that in my first play.

Always do the two handed warrior on my first playthrough, and I've been hoping to play qunari for a long while.

I always play human. And I always play Warrior on my first playthrough, Rogue on my second playthrough, Mage on my third playthrough then the class I liked the most on my fourth.

Too early to say, but I like idea of playing a ruthless Qunari. Gender'll depend on appearance.
