I wonder if anyone's choices in here are gonna change if we get a chance to dabble with the CC before launch.

My choice might change once I hear the different voice-overs.

I will mostly try everything - except for the dwarves.

In Origins i had a human fighter, elven rogue-ranger and a human mage.

I guess my first playthrough will once again be with a human fighter, but i'm also very interested in playing a qunari Mage (The mage spells from the qunari in DA2 were the coolest).

Only the dwarves... well i'm not into short guys with long beards. Neither cool nor sexy.

On my main file I played a female city elf warrior in DA:O, a female rogue hawke in 2, and I'm planning on returning to an elf because I'm just extremely curious as to how the whole "you're a dalish elf, no other option" pans out since you're part of the inquisition, and that's pretty much against everything the Dalish are. So I'm pretty sure it'll be a really interesting character to roleplay.

That said, I've played through every race and origin in Origins, so I'm going to do the same thing for Inquisition. Bioware, if you're going to continue the series after this, please keep the multiple races/backstories. It's the best part of the game, for me, to have an idea of what my characters motivations would be.

Origins, I played a Human Male Mage, A Female City Elf Warrior, and a Male Dwarf Noble Rogue.

In Dragon Age 2 I played a Male Mage, Female Rogue, and Male Warrior

In Inquisition, I'll play a Qunari Mage, gender undecided, a Female Elf Rogue, and a Male Human Warrior.

I'm way too undecided, I definitely do not know nearly enough to say what my character will look like.

Probably a human male rogue.  I want to try and be an archer honestly.

Bummer about city elves not being an option, since I'm not really a fan of the Dalish. I'll probably go Human first then. As for other details; male, mage who dabbles in blood magic.

I was originally going to have a city elf female rogue, same as I did with DA:O but now I know that they will be Dalish, I'm unsure which race to play.    My first playthroughs in both games were female rogues, so that part stays.

I'm sure one of my characters will be a male Qunari warrior.  Not sure if it'll be my first, though.

I originally wanted to be an Elf rogue, but I don't care for the Dalish at all so that put me off.

A Qunari warrior, probably male, but maybe female.

And either a human or elven mage, female. But I'm most excited about using the Qunari.

I would personally like for them to have the Origins/backgrounds separate from class in mos cases, if possible, similar to what ME1 did.

ME1 let you pick two quantifies, your upbringing and your claim to fame, essentially. You could choose between being a colonist (growing up in a fledgling space colony), being a military brat (raised on frigates in space) or Earth born (where you were an orphan from one of Earth's mega-cities, living the mean streets as a gang member). In addition, you could be famous for being the only soldier who survived a deadly Thresher Maw ambush, proving how tough you are mentally and your skills as a solider (Sole Survivor), you could be a hero, defying odds and holding out against superior numbers in a colony attack until back up arrived (War Hero) or you could lead your men into a suicide mission, sacrificing their lives and doing whatever it takes to get the job done (Ruthless).

If DA3 were to incorporate this (say, making a different opening if you were a city dweller, a county peasant or a noble's child) and then let you choose a reason you are famous (and, hence, why the Inquisiton would put you in charge of anything - options could be putting down an Elven rebellion, fighting dark spawn hordes that are stragglers from the Blight or taking down an Abomination one on one) and then ALSO allowing multiple origins based on class...

... then wow. That would be a game with an unheard of amount of replayability.

Yes and no.

I give you the point that it was kinda sad and stupid not to be able to play some origins because of  the class and race i chose, but on the other hand it added to the replayability of the game. i would have liked to see, if the life of a noble born mage was different from a common guy or how the dalish would rise their mages.

The ME-background's... well i think thy're rather lame and have as good as no influence at all to the game. In ME1 it added a miniquest and nothing else.. and in the prequels it was of no effect - only some minor references. The origins were deeper and gave a  glimpse of the different faces of society  and sometimes they had an effect even lateron in the game. Like only male human nobles got the chance to marry queen anora  - no elves, dwarves or mages. More like that should have been

added.

But what i also must say... i thought the choice of origins rather shallow and they lacked inspiration. F.e. i wished for an origin that made me a convicted criminal sentenced to death and the grey Wardens picked me up shortly before execution and through the game you had the posibility to prove your innocence, atone for your sins or hunt the guys who set you up.

I definately know that my human and/or elven Inquisitor will turn out looking like me. Somehow, there always seems to be a preset that only needs a tiny bit of tweaking in the CC to do so. Especially with the elven presets in DAO. What can I say, I look very elfy. ^_^

The kossith is where I'm probably going to have the most fun with the CC. Me in the future will probably be like "Oooooh horns!" *Puts horn slider to highest setting* "Must. Make. Character. More. Terrifying." *looks at finished character* "Oh, too terrifying" *scales down horn a bit* "meh" *scales horns back up* "that's better."

I'm hoping there's a battlemage spec. On that gets a little more physical.
Cause a Qunari battlemage would look freak I awesomesauce.

I will definitely play as a mage. I always play as mages b/c the other classes never interested me as much.

I will be male again b/c I like to play as my own sex.

Race is tricky for me. I know I won't play as human b/c the elven race (if DAO is anything to go by) will have better magic boosts in DAI.

But if I can play as a Qunari mage, I may give that a try. The only thing that makes me not consider being a Qunari!mage my first playthrough is b/c certain content may be locked out to me due to racism in the DA Universe. But if Qunari mage is possible, I would definitely try that my 2nd playthrough if I don't do it during my 1st.

Appearance would be close shaved with a short haircut and a light tanned skin color.

I plan on playing as a human male mage the first time I play. I really hope that you can play as a relative of the Amell family, that way my Warden, Champion and Inquisitor would all be related, that would be awesome.

First playthrough is going to be a Female Qunari Mage, I've been excited about the possibilities playing as a Qunari offers for quite a while. Next would likely be a Female Human Rogue, to see what I missed when playing as a Qunari.
