Hmm...

1) Female Human Rogue: intelligent, snarky, swashbuckling, stealthy, at times morally questionable, but ultimately cares about others more than she lets on. Actually hates leading, and the responsibility that comes with it, due to a fear of failure.

2) Female Qunari Warrior: kind, compassionate, a little naive and maybe a little too idealistic and selfless at times. Is disturbingly prone to self-sacrifice, to a dangerous degree, because she's trying to prove her worth.

3) Female Elven Mage: Stoic, quiet, honorable, an excellent strategist, very pragmatic toward what she sees as the greater good, but feels the weight of her actions and decisions heavily.

4) Female Dwarven Warrior: Worryingly bloodthirsty, loves to drink, flirt, and fight, and has a fondness for underdogs in any given situation. Mostly just in this to smash people's faces in for great justice, and bring glory to the fallen House Cadash.

And I'll play them in that order. Also, yes, I do put too much thought into these things. It's my play-style~.

I was initially going to be a female Qunari, but I feel like being a female Elf instead.

I know exactly how you feel. I absolutely refuse to play as a human if I can help it. Even if the only physical difference between human and another race are the shape of their ears.

Also I see you're a Dark Eldar fan. Good taste.

Same here...I'm thinking female elf warrior after reading ME.  I'm very excited, as there are a lot of factors that should lead to very different play-through perspectives, like:

  • Dalish (Briala's rebellion, Eluvians, etc)
  • Qunari (unprecedented, intimidating, unique reactions)
  • Mage (mage v templar conflict, veil tear

Traditionally, dwarves have been my favorite, but in this case, I may not get to a dwarf until play through #4....

In DA:O My warden was a male human blood mage.

In DA: 2 My Hawke is a male mage (again, blood mage. gotta love those demon's deals  )

And in DA III I'm planning my inquisitor as a male Qunari mage (a Saarebas) using blood magic and proving everyone including the qunaris (and sending the qun code to hell) that the mages kicks everyone's backsides.

A female dwarf rogue or warrior with a chip on her shoulder and the strength to tear the arms off a wookie.  She'll be quick to anger and quick in killing.  She'll be brutal and merciless to her enemies and endlessly forgiving and helpful to her friends.  She will be a scourge to her friends' enemies.  She will be like Odysseus: clever, too curious, arrogant, strong in war-craft, and wrathful but just.  As a commander, she will be willing to shoulder the sins of war so her companions don't have to (if a massacre is required, she'll do it herself to spare the souls of her companions).  In peace and in war, she will do whatever is best for the world and for dwarves everywhere.

DA:O/A - Female dwarf noble rogue, the Warden did her best to forge lasting alliances and relationships between races, and she did what she thought best for the peoples of Orzammar and Ferelden, and strove hard to ensure the Grey Wardens would endure.

DA II - Female blood mage, Hawke was willing to study and employ the ways of evil in order to do good.

Upon careful consideration I've decided to become a elf/dalish mage Inquisitor. I will uncover the ancient knowledge and power of the old elves and immortality shall be mine! Muwhaha! Ahem. After I save Theda's and help the elves(both city and dalish) and save the mages.

Deciding on a race is going to be hard for me. I think I'm either going to make my Inquisitor an elf or qunari. Leaning more towards the qunari race though because it hasn't been available as a playable race before. My character is definitely going to be female the first time round. Appearance is usually up in the air until I get my hands on the character creation options, but I tend to prefer short hair, a darker complexion and light hair/eyes. I'm not picky about class and lord knows I'll probably replay the game enough to try them all, but I do love being a mage. They're so damn powerful.

Male mage, with default appearance. As I did Hawke back in DA2.

I've narrowed down my choice to either a dwarven warrior or a Qunari mage.

The dwarven warrior mainly because dwarves are awesome. And the Qunari Mage mainly because I love playing as a mage and I'm dang interested in how playing as a Qunari will affect things.

My third playthrough will be a Dalish.

Now that specializations are here, I'm refining my choice.

I'll be playing a Human male sword and board Warrior with the Templar and Champion specializations.

In other words, a Paladin.

The site is only showing me one of the three specializations for each class, so how do y'all know what they all are?

Clicking on the picture of the unknown specialisations and choosing 'save as' shows their names.

i am going to make a qunari mage because it would be more interesting how a qunari mage was able to survive the fade explosion because qunari are weak to magic and their mages do not go through a certain harrowing and it is illegal to go to the fade in their lands.

I will have a male & female Inquisitor of all the races. I will have 8 different playthroughs plan. My canon Inquisitor will be a Male Human Inquisitor though.

"Male human warrior will be the ultimate inquisitor.

No pointy ears, no horns
Most boring race ever
Most boring class also
Not part of any minority
No riveting sob story

Watch one underdog struggling in a world full of special snowflakes."
This^^^ then probably a female qunari Mage. Just for complete discrepancy between playthroughs.

Female Dwarf Rouge... As long as Varric is a romance option. Female Qunari if not.

Tempted to just role with a Female Qunari Necromancer just to liquefy everyone who has a problem with any of that.

Otherwise, I'll be holding back any other choices until we know more about each spec and our companion's own spec.

Very likely human warrior. Gender will depend on the voice acting and the look I can give my characters in the character creator. That said, I have gone with male human warriors in the previous two games.

JeppeRoemer on Roosterteeth.com just independently drew me without my knowledge(he likes to surprise RTers with artwork of them) and now I have to consider rolling an Inquisitor that is much like my real life self because props to him, jeez

So, does the new class/spec information on the new website change anyone's mind?  It doesn't look like Blood Mage, Spirit Healer or Force Mage are making a comeback, though Knight Enchanter certainly has 'Arcane Warrior' written all over it.

Interesting that Warriors are getting revamps of previous specs, Rogues are getting a mix of old and new, and Mages are all new (at least in name)

Specs might work similarly to the old ones, even if the names are different. *shrugs* We'll find out eventually.
