Female Elf rogue
What race, gender, appearance, and class of character do you plan to play in DA:I?

That hat is amazing. I'm so glad that they're giving us decent headgear this time around. I hated wearing helmets and hats in Origins and II, but that is gorgeous.
Same. I don't spend time designing my character's face just to hide it away, but that hat looks like a compliment rather than a deterrent.

I'm torn between a female Qunari two handed warrior and a Female Elf rogue dual-wield. I'll probably go with the Qunari first since I'm really excited about finally being able to play as one, either way they'll both be beautiful
same here, haha =D

I'll make 2 playthroughs back to back right from the get go. Qunari female mage - probably knight enchanter; and a Dalish male rogue - probably tempest.

I have 9 playthroughs planned. My first will be a typical goody two shoes male human warrior on my initial playthrough though. Though i may replay the prologue a few times to get a feel of the classes.

I definitely don't have a number of playthroughs planned, hahaha. In Origins I can't remember how many I played, in DA2 I only finished one.
Gotta hope the game gives me a reason to replay it

I tend to play through Bioware games at least once with each class, but my first combo will most definitely be a female qunari rogue. Probably gonna skip playing a human altogether and play a female elf mage second, then a male dwarf warrior third. If I do wind up wanting to play again after those three, I might do a human male rogue or warrior then. Either way, human is definitely my last choice for race.

1. Qunari/Male/Two Handed Warrior
2. Elf/Male/Rogue ( Duel Wielding)
3. Dwarf/ Male/ Sword and Shield Warrior
4. Human/Male /Mage Hopefully Expert in Elemental and Spiritual School magics.

I'm so done with being a mage after DAII. First playthrough will be human male rouge. Next will be Qunari male warrior. After that I might try out Mage.

Human / Male / Mage
That's what I'm going for as of right now. It may change the closer we get to release. It all depends on whether or not they can convince me to play as something else.

The fact that you were not given race options in DA2 and now have them again wasn't enough? I'm not mentioning classes right now since we've always had the same options(thank goodness). ![]()

Kinda like the same here. I did three playthroughs of DA2, and I don't know how many of DA:O. In DA2, I did one for each class, since I liked the whole CCC mechanic. But, that's just it, I only liked that part of DA2.
DA:O is so fantastic, I still play it, I kid you not. It's not just about a class, it's about a whole story and its characters. I so hope that DA:I will strike me the same way.
OT: As for my first playthrough of DA:I, most definitely a mage, if that's the only class that can do the new destruction/rebuilding (of, say, bridges/reaching areas inaccessible to other classes).

I'd still be playing DAO today if NG+ was possible, or at least being able to play the same character again. I grow attached and am not the type to make many various characters. I make one I like and stick to him/her.

Lady qunari rogue as I stumble through the world not know what the hell I'm doing.
Second time round, a male mage as I make the evilest decisions possible.
Hopefully several more playthroughs after that!

First playthrough: I'm thinking Male Qunari Rogue (Archer). Might be a bit of a waste of all that muscle mass, I supposed, by my arrows shall turn bone to dust!
Second: Male Elf Mage
Third: Human S&S Warrior
I may end up switching my second and third around, though, since they're so cliche.

I'm actually starting to get a little torn between being an elf mage or elf rogue now. Originally, I was all mage, cos I wanted to be more involved in the mage/templar conflict...but the mage companions seem more interesting to me than the rogues (so if I'm a mage, I get to bring less of them with me), and the rogue specializations sound more interesting as well (based solely on their names)....
So I might go rogue. Ah, decisions!

I always think of the characters I make for rpgs as better versions of myself. Same way of thinking but more skillful, more practiced. The only race that works with that as far as morality and culture goes are the humans. There is a value in humans that none of the other races have. They are the only people that can be anything they can/want to be according to the game's lore. Of course other races can do it but they would be outcasts or rebels.
Elves in this story are whiny and they ask respect for what they used to be. They value the old ways but they are not the same people that made those rules. To me they are totally unappealing and I'd never even consider playing them.
Dwarves are all about dwarves. They are not warcraft dwarves that are actually fun with their heavy accents and all. With the exception of Varric, every single dwarf in this game is boring. Sure some of them have something to be remembered for, like the perpetual drunk Oghrin or the female dwarf that wanted to study magic but as a whole? Not appealing.
Qunari are the more appealing of the three. They value strength and they demand respect. They have high cultural standards and are welcoming to outsiders that want to follow their ways. The problem here is that their ways are limited to a certain way of thinking. If I wanted to roleplay a character like that I would definitely play a qunari but I don't.
As for class I'm not really sure but for the first playthrough I want to play something that fits better in the party. If the combat is fast I'll go for the class that has extra aoe control and heavy aoe nuke. If it's slower paced I'll pick the one that brings more auras and has sustained damage. Knight Enchanter sounds it can go both ways and since arcane warrior was meh as melee mage in DAO, here's hoping that I can play a proper spellsword.
