That was me in DA2. I gotta try something different
What race, gender, appearance, and class of character do you plan to play in DA:I?

I always seem to to end up playing as a male rogue. Now that we have race options again, I'll probably go with male, elf, and male as a starter.

male Elven mage. Probably a chaotic neutral type of personality.

hmmm.. =D sure I'll post it again. ^^ my first play through.. Will be Dalish Elf or Human... But most likely will be a Female Dalish Elf Rogue , But no bows.. =p
her height would be 5'11 to 6'1 ..With a light brown tan skin., one green eye and one sky blue eye color..
A scar on her nose, short hairstyle (Maybe the same as Hawke or messy) with a hair dye mix of blue & purple.
A tattoo on her shoulder ^^
I always go with small ears with my characters, but she will have long ears ^^

Qunari female mage.
That is unless I can continue The Amell Family Line of Mage Heroes... then it'd actually have to think about what I'd play first.
Comes down to the voice actor I think in games there the PC actually speaks. Bioware has a history of having the female PC having the better voice, so would probably stick too that.
Also, if I'm going to play a game where I'll be looking at the arse of a character for 80+ hours it might as well be a pleasing to look at one...
I'll eventually punish myself with a Mal-PC at some point, like I did with MalShep, but it's not something I look forward too.
But yeah, Mage all the way.

No Amells. I believe that was said long ago. It was supposed to be a bit of an easter egg in DA2, not taken so seriously that people would expect to play them in each and every game.

I didn't think there would be to be honest. Though what an easter egg XD.
In all honesty I didn't even notice any connection till I played my 3rd play through of DA2 and my first non-mage. that was full of surprises. I had no idea that Carver could be killed by that oger, and then Bethany tells me they're related to the Hero of Ferelden, and says Anders (who my my first character a Female Mage Hawke romanced) reminded her of her father Malcolm Hawke...
It put that whole first play through in a totally different light...

Warden Human Male Warrior who was a good guy in DA:O
Hawke Human Female Rogue who wisecracked as much as possible.
Guess that leaves me Inquisitor Male Human Mage Bastard...keeps everything in balance.

Probably a Human Male Warrior just to get my feet wet.

I`d love to play a male dwarven mage but as this won`t be possible because of the DA lore I think I`ll stick with my male human mage. I hope they will bring back the Arcane Warrior spec which was great fun playing in DA Origins.

Wow, this thread has survived, and stayed in use, for 2 years. Impressive.
Anyway, my default go to for a first character in DA/NWN/Etc is always Human Male. Profession varies, (NWN: Paladin, DAO: Warrior, DA2: Rogue).
This time I'll go: Human Male Mage

Female. Human. Mage. Than most likely, Female. Qunari. Mage.

(always) male character, first playhtrough will, as usual, be a human sword -and-shield warrior . then proabably Elf rogue or mage.
i doubt i will ever finish the game as a dwarf or qunari but who knows...I might do the prologue just to see how they ended up at the place of the explosion just like i played through all the origin stories

Human male rogue for the first playthrough.

Probably a Female Human Rogue to begin with, but if I like the game (which I anticipate happening) then I will play the other races, gender and classes ![]()

Hopefully all of them if the game is good enough to warrant multiple playthroughs. I don't see much point in playing through games such as this and picking the same (or at least a very similar) character every time.
If I had to guess at an order though, it'd probably be something like this:
Human Warrior
Qunari Warrior
Dwarven Warrior
Dalish Rogue
Human Mage

My first playthrough is going to have to be a male Dwarf! I love the Dwarves more than anything so I'm definitely going Dwarf.
I know there is NO reason to think Mage would be an option for a Dwarf but I am curious how the glow-y hand power works in conjunction with the Dwarven resistance to magic. The Breach is obviously powerful enough to mess with MANY of the rules of the world but I would love so much if this somehow meant you could access spells (even as untrained as they would be)
Otherwise, I'll likely play a Warrior since I plan to have Varric and Vivienne on my first team, for sure.
My second playthrough will have to be as a Mage (likely Human male) because I think there is going to be a lot of interesting tension added to the story for Mages Inquisitors.

I will either play as a female rogue, red hair, blue eyed, with a penchant for bows and assination.
-OR-
I will play as a light brown haired and bearded Knight Enchanter Mage who has a penchant for telling captured Orlesian nobility that 'don't worry, Demon Lords are our Specialty.
And the one I don't play through first I will play the other then then likely will play a Female Vashoth Warrior who likes to also kick butt and take names.

I usually always play a mage first, but now I'm struggling to decide between male/female, human/elf, mage/rogue for my first playthrough. I think I don't want it to be a male elven mage or a female human rogue and that's as far as I've gotten.
