I keep forgetting where in Kirkwall the important merchants are

and with important I mean those that allow you to craft, create postions, runes etc (not just buying/selling stuff)

Is there a list of only these merchants?

The rune merchant is in the high town market, the potion merchant is in the lowtown bazaar near the entry from hightown market, there is also the poisons one in darktown. They would likely be listed on the dragon age wikia.

You can also craft any of these items you have found the ingredients for at your home base without running around the city at all...
