Has anyone else had this problem yet? I'm using a Microsoft Wireless Optical Mouse 2.0. The scroll-wheel works just fine when I alt-tab out of the game and use it.

I will use the Page Up/Down for now, but the wheel would be much better. :D

Cheers!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Did you modify the scroll wheel response speed using the Microsoft configuration utility? If so, set it back to the default.

Nope. In fact I just installed Windows 7 Ultimate on Sunday and haven't touched the mouse config yet. I just assumed it would've been set to default after the install. Maybe I'll monkey with it a little. I did notice that the scroll wheel technically 'works' in-game, but I have to spin the wheel really fast a few times to even get it to zoom in or out a level. The scroll sensitivity is just fine out of the game, but it's pretty off in-game. Image IPB

I am seeing the same problem as well. I've tried a couple of different mice and had the same problem with each. The scroll wheel works fine for everything except the game. I'm wondering if it's a problem with Windows 7 Ultimate since that is what I'm running as well.

I'm so looking forward to the first patch when all these minor bugs have been sorted out.

Hopefully the powers that be are aware of the mouse scroll problem in Win 7 Ult. You would think that a fix for it would be included in the very first patch. After all, quickly changing from 3rd person view to strategic overhead view is kinda one of the main functions of fun combat. :)

Oh and FYI, I too, just tried another mouse with the same result. This one is a Microsoft Wireless Laser Mouse 6000 v2.0. Same deal.

Anyone else noticing the same issue with Win7Ultimate?

I'm on windows Vista 64 and am having the same problem, with an Intellimouse Explorer 2, running Intellipoint 6.30.191.0

I'm pretty sure I had this exact same problem with Neverwinter Nights, running on XP at the time... so it may be a Bioware engine thing.

I just remapped my 2 thumb buttons on my mouse to Zoom In and Zoom out. Adequate for now.

VERY nice idea deadman. Didn't even think of that. Wow that's smooth scrolling now. Question: did Bioware ever patch the scroll wheel issue with NWN?

Have the same issue. MS Wireless Intellimouse Explorer 2.0.. worked fine in-game under Vista. Upgraded to Windows 7 Premium (32 bit) and mouse scrolling no longer works. Tried with a few other games and scrolling works, just not with Dragon Age. =(

It's an issue with Intellimouse software and a variety of different programs. It's possible to fix it (Steam had to be corrected for exactly this problem recently, because the program wouldn't scroll properly). There's a thread in the old DA:O Tech forums describing a workaround, but I didn't bother with it. Read this thread.

Also, moving this to the tech forum on the social site.

FYI. Same problem here. Windows XP Service Pack 3, with an IBM optical Scroll Point III mouse.

In my case, doesn't work at all, not even scrolling really fast. And my mouse doesn't have thumb buttons, so until this is fixed, my gaming will suck.

cheers

You can use Page Up and Page Down instead... that's what I've used throughout the whole game.
