Okay, I hope I am missing something really small...
So when creating certain stages, I set the area that the stage will be used in in the area properties section. Then I adjust the actors accordingly, making sure they are in the right positions I want them in.
Then when I open up the area to actually add the stage, I have to manually adjust the position of the stage in the area. Am I missing something? Is there a way to somehow just use the same positioning you already created?
Thanks.

I haven't noticed an option for this and I don't recall anything from the Builders Event when we first introduced to them.
The nearest I got to that is simply copying the Template's Position In Area and Yaw in Area properties in the Stage Editor to the Instance's Position and Orientation properties in Area Editor. I've also done this in reverse when I've made changes in the Area Editor.
I suspect the reason this doesn't happen automatically is our stages will be a mix of area specific ones and generic ones. That said we probably wouldn't bother setting the area, position or yaw for a generic stage (except perhaps breifly to check focal lengths).
A feature request perhaps?

That's a good idea, I'll try that. But yeah, this is definitely something that would be a nice feature to have.

I didn't realise it was possible to link areas to stage like that! I had been doing a trial and error process previously, I knew there had to be a better way!
However, I noticed that when I linked my stage to my area, it immediately set the stage location to the location that I had previously placed it within the area.
So, it seems that you can create your stage template, add it to the area, then go and link your stage to the area, and it will immediately snap to the location you've placed it in. That said, I'm not sure what would happen if you're using a generic stage that is in more than one place in the area.

I didn't have much luck making stages work anywhere except at fixed locations. My convos with party members don't have assigned stages with cams and places, it kept screwing up depending where I ended up while testing, so I scrapped that and kept staged convos only for npcs.
If you do find a way to make it work though, let me know!
