but choose class as character.
If player want play as mage- than he choose human character as a mage, and have story of human- mage;
warrior is a dworf- so this way player have story of dworf and warrior;
rogue is an elf- we have story for the rogue & story for the elf

So this way we have class & origin- character story same time

thoughts? :?

I don't think the majority would appreciate that.

I wouldn't find it ideal, but I could probably get used to it and learn to like it.
Infact, the more I think about it, the less of an atrocity it seems.

However, I would still like to have the chance to choose a combination of race and class.
But we get what we are given :P

To be honest, I've been thinking about this too. I'm not sure what I think about it though. Suppose it would be better than fixed race/origin, but I'd still love it if we got back to the DAO thing.. but that'd be a bit difficult with the VA's..

I really don't know.

I understand where you are coming from, but the different between classes is only in mechanics. Splitting them doesn't lessen the work required for mechanics at all, it just restricts the player. The concern with origins (which I would still love to have) and different races (which we had BETTER have because humans are boring, and also every non-human forever hates you) is that they take a lot of time to implement, most of the players won't see them (apparently only around 40% of players finish a game even ONCE), and would require all that VA work.

Plus... I luff dwarves but haet warriors :<

I hate it when the game forces me to play certain race if I want to play certain class.

If this happens I will go to the nearest gamestop and burn all of the copies of DA3.

Dear god no, i like to customise my character so he's a carbon copy of myself.  I hate games like boarderlands where the cool characters are female.... i'm a guy so I don't roll that way.   better yet, why do mages have to be weak?  I spend two to three hours every second night working out, I'm a hard core nerd but that doesn't mean you have to be skinny/fat.

As a consumer I want more choice, not less.

yes, fixed dworf is only warrior character is to rough

but this is better than being forced to play only as human, this way we have at least minimum of choices

And on the plus side is- player will have more opportunity to try something new. As example- me, i don`t like to play warriors classes and human characters. But if warrior will be dworf with it story i`ll probably enjoy it a lot

I agree completely. More choice is better.
But if the choice is a Hawke situation where you are always human or what the OP suggested, I would take what the OP suggested.

I kinda think Dragon's Dogma was great in the regard. You could create a PC who looked like a Dwarf, Elf or Human - even a child.
Of course that had no impact on how people reacted to you but it was great.
I made my arisen a carbon copy of myself (or as close as possible at least!) and try to do that in BioWare games too.

Nope.

Human warrior/mage/rogue = one story with class specific variants (two voice actors = more zots for customization)

Human mage/elf rogue/dwarf warrior = one story with no acknowledgment of class or race (six voice actors = less zots for anything else)

@op
I don't think Bioware would do that.
You know BioWare would need 6 voice actors for the PC that way, 2 for each class, if they do that they do that going to let you choose your race and class would cost just a bit more money (voicing the few class specific lines). There is no sense what so ever in doing it the way you describe,

No, I definitely wouldn't like this. I want to play as a warrior, but I don't like playing as a dwarf. On the other hand, I like playing as a human or an elf, but I don't like being a mage or a rogue.
