I noticed when I started up Borderlands 2, it said "9 friends playing Borderlands 2." Most of my friends list is people I added specifically for ME3's MP, so yeah... realistically, the playerbase has taken a hit.

The game came out two days ago.

It looks like only the weekend operations may draw some players back and it may only be for the squad goal, making the allied goal even harder to achieve especially when the numbers are so high. This could be an indication of bioware planning something making it such a high number of atlases to kill maybe if we fail there will be some announcement. BL2 has been taking up all my time so far this week and I want me3 to get back to being as addicting as it once was, but there isn't anything more to do. I think bioware didn't expect the multiplayer to be as popular as it is and it may have thrown them off as far as support for it and what to do with it( just my opinion though).

Well, I hope that the next DLC will be more than new maps and new characters. Many good titles this fall will rip this game apart.

However, lower difficulty (silver) are a lot more lively than gold and platinum. Many low N7 are quite common.

LOL, another post praising BL2, "high end players moved onto BL2" - **** this, I'm reporting this thread for garbage. The ME3 community is far from dead.

I'm not praising it by any means (even though it is awesome) i'm just saying that looking at my FL and 90% of team arelex has moved onto BL2. It has taken over a large portion of the ME3 playerbase. espicially the ones that were doing the teaching, carrying randoms, speed runs, etc. most have moved over to BL2. But please go ahead an report and waste BWs time. the fact you would bother to do so on a perfectly fine post shows how bad the community is getting. You don't see the irony?

I'm gonna join BL2 party, but will play ME3 MP occasionally. But PUG will change as Original poster mentioned.

The glitches and issues are why I stopped playing. Apparently my Earth DLC won't authorize on my current account for some reason, they don't know what account it is linked to now. So I can't play at all. So unless I want to start over, I had to stop playing.

LOL, so what team Arele-X is doing indicates what all "high-end" players are doing?

With last 2 million credits being store trolled, 6 million saved.. I don't even really want to desperately get URs anymore. With PUG quality changing.. It simply is not reasonable for me to play ME3 MP too much anymore.

I won't buy Borderlands 2 until it gets a lot cheaper, so I'll be around for a while. Besides, I like to play different games at the same time anyway, especially one single player and one multiplayer one.

Fortunately I'm seeing a lot of NEW players coming into the PUG's in Bronze/Silver sets. Yes players do move on to the next new thing but ME3 still rocks! /looking with curiosity at the BL2 marketing banner.

Not saying that, but when you play with randoms do you notice that 90% of them are terrible at the game? Thats the playerbase taht is gonna msotly be left.

Also By midnight my time (PST) most people were already moving onto BL2 and haven't gotten off. I had like 30 people on my FL yesterday playing BL2 compared to like 5 playing ME3 and they were doing the speedrun tournement

I'm skipping BL2. FPS are ment to be competative IMO, not co-op treasure hunting. I also don't like cell-shade graphics anymore. Basically the game looks like it was designed for 12 year olds. I will continue to play ME3 until H4. I will agree with op though, most of my ME3 buddies are now playing BL2.

BL2 and ME3 MP are completely different, but BL weapon drop system is much less trolling and enjoyable. I'll enjoy playing both game.

Didn't you here Tallgeese? You can't enjoy any other games besides ME3 otherwise you're a traitor and/or indoctrinated.

I will probably end up getting BL2 at some point.

But I'm not going to be paying racist prices for it.

Not sure how the DRM works but if I were to play it now it would be yo ho yo ho a Pirate's life for me.

My friends list is all ppl playing BL2... and like 2-3 ppl on ME3. That said... I miss ME3, the universe, etc. but there needs to be something to keep me interested. The Argus, and this weeks rather bland balance changes, are not enough to keep BL2 out of my XBOX. I need DLC and massive changes to guns so I can go play them... but I will be here for the weekend events at the very least, until DLC arrives.

I don't really know what point you're trying to make to be honest. It's a hugely popular triple A title that was hyped up more than Jesus. Of course tons are going to be playing it 2 days after release. These people have sunk hundreds and hundreds of hours into ME3 multiplayer already, let's see how many hours they sink into BL2. From my point of view I could only do a few playthroughs of BL1 before I would get bored and move on to another game. All told I've probably got about 200 hours of BL1 playtime, I'm sure I've spent just that much if not more in the ME3 MP.

ME3's MP is not story-driven, this makes the replayability better than action-RPG's (like BL2) which are story driven.

Well since this is my first multiplayer experience I'm still hooked...for now at least. I am rather disappointed that BW knows many of us are getting impatient about a new DLC/Patch and hasnt even given us a hint about anything new...I plan on getting RE6 and Doom 3 so maybe I'll take a vacation from ME3 for a while myself

I think more people would have stuck around had the MP been more fun and the RNG been a little more gracious. Constantly having classes and guns nerfed - being told by the devlopers what to like just makes people mad. When another game comes along - they jump ship. I can't say I blame them.

If you have played me3 mp from the start what more is there to do? I have Gone through countless new class load outs and there isn't anything more to do in the multiplayer except for the weekend operations. It is an observation that a new game came out so yes the player base of an older game goes down. I have a problem with the really high goals bioware has put out with these operations when they know there are less payers on the game.

I quit nearly two months ago now and have only logged in to finish weekend events since. I dont' have a perfect manifest, but I was getting close to maxing quite a few of my UR's but that isn't enough to keep the game fresh. It's the same ole same ol. I keep looking for a reason to come back, a long overdue addition to the enemy factions would be a start, namely the Collectors. New game modes and trophies/acheivements to go with them would be perfect.

I enjoyed the game, but not enough was done to keep it fresh IMO.

I was surprised to see that the size of BL2 was only 5.8 GB. I know that bigger doesn't necessarily mean better, but damn, that could almost fit on a PS2 or original XBox disc!

I don't even get why BL2 is such a hot game. The cartoony graphics are an instant turnoff for me

I don't really run into many terrible players when I play. Then again, my standards for what constitutes a bad player are pretty low.
