It was an incredible experience. Things were dying so fast I had to check the difficulty in the game because I didn't believe it. But yeah, it was gold. And it was really fun.
So you had a bad team. Big deal.

There is no hope of another MP DLC. The next two months is going to be brutal to ME3. The two biggest game of the year are coming out in the next 60 days. COD Black Ops 2 and Halo 4 will utterly destroy the player base. Those games are not the same class of games that everyone thought would crush the ME player base before and failed. I don't care what small niche of haters say about either games. When both those games come out, I'm getting them... and a whole lot of gamers will too.
Myeh, I'm calling shenanigans on this concept. Player base for ME3 is clearly and significantly different than for COD and Halo. You may play this and plan on playing those, but I'm guessing that PLENTY of people (myself included) couldn't be paid cash to play COD or Halo. Not hating on the games, they just aren't my kind of MP experience. ME3 IS my type of MP experience, I just hope enough people stick around so that it continues to be fun.
Haven't noticed much of a difference this week, yet. Then again, haven't played that much (I play during weekends mostly... have to work and sleep sometime!).

What type of multiplayer experience is mass effect?

They are constantly making these high number allied objectives and it will keep ending in failure unless they increase the rate at which the enemies or objectives spawn. 600k atlases is a ridiculous number and we only have a chance to do it if they increase the atlas spawn rate.
600k across 3 platforms? I think it's possible. You get more Atlas appearances in a gold match that an escort wave that's for sure. Plus it's guaranteed that they will show up if you select Cerberus. My issue though is that not everybody actually reads from the forums or even reads the splash screen. So if farmers wanna farm, FBW/G/G is going to hurt our numbers. I plan on playing a lot this weekend, as long as the servers don't take a dump on me. I am even doing all Batarian runs to ensure a commendation pack is earned.

What type of multiplayer experience is mass effect?
A coop game (much like L4D) where you fight in a confined box (unlike L4D) that gets weekly "balance changes" (unlike L4d) and will likely die quickly (much like L4D).

I'd say more like cocaine, but close. Of course, the Vorcha and Drell are more like meth heads, but the rest are probably coke heads.UpirNoir wrote...

Character-driven, co-op, tactical shooter with RPG elements. It's more in line with Rainbow Six and SWAT 4 type games. CoD, Halo, BF3, etc., are more straight Doom II/Quake (i.e. ADHD) type shooter.

You've clearly stereotyped the ME3 player base. I play everything from 1st person shooter to RTS. Perhaps you think ME3 only appeals to RPG nerds. I don't think that's true. A lot of people on my FL play both ME3 and BF3. A large number of them apparently like to play BL2. I bet a large number will be picking up Black Ops 2 and Halo 4. The largest community of ME3 players are on Xbox. I think we have an idea what type of games they play.

L4D is not dead at allif anything L4D2 is dead as it was a terrible sequel, I think if mass effect had a game mode much like L4d it would be a game that players would be putting in years from now. L4D is still played alot and it has a greater tactical/ teamwork element than mass mp.

That said, I'd really like some new DLC. I still have gear and Ultra-rares to max, but it would be nice to have some new characters to mess around with, and some new Rare weapons. Ones that don't suck, that is. DIAF Argus.
At least I have GW2.

ME MP is rather unique with all the powers and weird guns. It's definately got a niche in that department and I still enjoy playing it because of this.

I'm honestly surprised at how few of my FL are playing BL2.
I'm playing it, but on a different system and at a different time than I normally play ME3. I've put about 8 hours into that game so far. I still like ME3 MP better overall, but I hope that the ME4 guys borrow liberally from many of the elements from it.

The playerbase taking a hit from a new triple A title being released is not exactly news, slayin.
If people enjoy the game enough, they will return after playing Borderlands 2 as much as they want.
I would like new DLC soon though, but am still thoroughly enjoying playing with friends and carrying groups of useless noobs in PUG's.
Except that it's not just BL2. That will hold them for a bit, but there are several other big games getting ready to drop. RE6 in less than two weeks. Dishonored a week later. AC3 at the end of next month. Halo 4 a week after that. Those are just the ones I can think of off the top of my head. It's getting to be that time of year, and the titles look a lot better than they did last year. I think we'll see an uptick during the operation weekend (at least long enough to get the commendation pack), but I don't think people will just be rushing through BL2 so they can come back to a game that hasn't added anything of note in a bit, has only one play mode, and seems to go out of its way to nerf the most popular weapons/character builds.

LOL, another post praising BL2, "high end players moved onto BL2" - **** this, I'm reporting this thread for garbage. The ME3 community is far from dead.
Get a clue. The OP wasn't "praising" BL2. They're simply not ignoring the elephant in the room. The discussion in the op was focused on the effects the release of BL2 has had on the ME3 mp player base. So, since what they're really talking about is the ME3 mp player base, it seems like a legitimate discussion to me. Additionally, I have to say that what the OP is talking about has happened to me as well. The vast majority of the people on my friends list that I played ME3 mp with are now playing BL2, which means I have to resort to PUGs much more than I did previously. At the same time, I've noticed PUGs taking longer to fill on multiple difficulty settings, especially at off hours. I used to be able to pick and choose PUG lobbies at any time of the day or night. Now, if I can actually get a lobby full of people who actually ready up, I kind of feel like I have to stick with that group...even if the make up of that group seems likely to fail.

ME3 is my first foray into MP, and I'm loving it. What I like about it is that you can just pick up and play it; and it's for that reason that I'm in it for the long haul. The only other game I'll be buying in the near future is Dead or Alive 5.
As regards ME3MP - I'm not going anywhere. As long as the servers are running, I'll be running.

All, no, but the group is fairly large, yeah? Large enough to be a statistically significant sample. It's not a random sample, but the selection biases leading to it are that the group is largely for aggressive players and people that frequent BSN. There's no reason to think that they wouldn't be a representative sample of ME3 MP players that bother to find more information on the game and people that play aggressively rather than camping.CmnDwnWrkn wrote...

I'm not praising it by any means (even though it is awesome) i'm just saying that looking at my FL and 90% of team arelex has moved onto BL2. It has taken over a large portion of the ME3 playerbase. espicially the ones that were doing the teaching, carrying randoms, speed runs, etc. most have moved over to BL2. But please go ahead an report and waste BWs time. the fact you would bother to do so on a perfectly fine post shows how bad the community is getting. You don't see the irony?
LOL, so what team Arele-X is doing indicates what all "high-end" players are doing?
