Oh, don't worry. We will throw all the punches. Punching come standard. Possibly, if you buy the CE, David Gaider will come to your house to punch you in person.

I will also pet their hand afterwards, and coo to them softly to tell them everything will be better soon.

It's all part of the co-dependency thing we got going on here.

What an odd time to hit "last post" on a thread. Not what I expected at the mention of "weddings". Then again, weddings typically involve family and alcohol, so anything is possible.

Leliana: Would be OK with marrying - shopping for it will be fun - but it's unnecessary. The Maker already totally approves of sleeping with you.
Morrigan: No
Zevran: Uh, maybe? I don't get Zevran
Alistair: Well, he goes along with it if you arrange it in front of a landsmeet full of witnesses.

DA2
Isabela: hahhahahhaha no
Merrill: Maybe if you had pointy ears
Fenris: Since most of the relationship consists of him sulking for 3 years after one night together, it'll probably be a while until he's ready
Anders: Depends if the wedding could be used as cover for planting a bomb

Marriage would be a really nice possibility, but it should be implemented right.
The wedding mod for DAO are thorough and manage to display it really beautifully.

The Skyrim wedding was a bit... Pale. And characters you can marry doesn't have as much significance as your bioware companions.

If bioware would attemt a wedding they should make it, firstly optional, and secondly significant. It shouldn't affect story, or else players might feel forced into it, but it should still alter some settings. Change dialogue, perhaps even companion attitude in some cases or interactions.

Now that's a pre-order bonus! I'll be pre-ordering for my wife too, but that will save you airfare.

That's a very good point and important to point out as being a necessary part of being this married PC and LI.

Didn't read all the posts(or even many of them) but I would personally enjoy have a wedding scene with some romances. Hopefully the scene would have everyone important to the character there(and the ones who died would be noticeable by their absence). I think it would be a touching scene either in its happiness or bittersweetness.

Hepler don't seek you, you seek Hepler.

And when you find her, she'll wreck your face.

I'm not opposed to the idea of a wedding at all, if said wedding is done RIGHT.  I'm a sucker for endearing things, and what is a wedding if not endearing in some manner?   The thing is, perhaps it's just me, but I don't imagine that The Inquisitor is going to have time for a wedding.  There's a conspiracy to uncover, a war between mages and templars raging, a possible civil war brewing in Orlais, Flemeth and Morrigan likely moving about in the shadows, a Tevinter Magister on the loose within the ranks of the Grey Wardens (I HOPE Corypheus is at least semi-important.), the Qunari probably taking advantage of the situation, AND a possible war between various opportunistic nations to contend with.

I wouldn't be opposed to helping two characters along on the path to romance, though.  As a matter of fact, I'm heavily surprised that you couldn't at least attempt to bridge the gap between Carver and Merrill in the second game, and I was happy when Garrus and Tali got together near the end of Mass Effect 3.  It really showed me that the world didn't revolve around Shepard, which was something that wasn't stated enough in my opinion.

As to that mod for a wedding between Alistair and a female warden...meh.  That scene honestly felt far too high fantasy for my recently acquired Song of Ice and Fire taste, although I understand that some people want that happy ending and fought tooth and nail for it throughout the course of the game, so I'll begrudge them that, and hopefully they will begrudge me my ending where Alistair is hardened and in an efficient, albiet loveless marriage with Anora.

I'm all for this angle, actually.  For me personally, a story's not good unless it punches me right in the feels.  Not the good feels, the bad feels.  Happy endings/stories do nothing for me.  But a story/ending that sends me through a range of emotions....rage anger despair woe happiness depression....that's a good story.  I think I might quite like a wedding that ends in death, murder, and betrayal.  AND WEIRD I'M A WOMAN AND WOULD RATHER HAVE BLOOD AND GORE THAN PUPPIES AND BUNNIES.

That's why I love you so much Bioware.  You never fail to punch me right in the feels.  You punch me real good.

I hereby name you my favorite forumite, Mel_Redux.

That's a very good point and important to point out as being a necessary part of being this married PC and LI.

At least i would think it would be incredible if they could pull something like that off.

Let me try to set a scene:
LI=Female, PC=Male
End of DA3, you have as the player character chosen a path that puts you in a all out death situation. The city is under siege by the enemy and you are faced with a important decition: Stay and hold the line so that the Lord Seeker/Empress of Orlais/Someone important can escape or run with your companions, sacrificing the important person and perhaps other innocents trying to escape.
You choose to stay and defend those that need you the most and tell your companions to escort the important person or get civilians to safety.

If unromanced: After a brief discussion with the companion you first maxed out friendship with they take off and you hold the line. This sets a counter, the longer you stay alive the bigger the chance is that you will live. If you hold out for (say 5 mins?) before the enemies get the better of you, you buy the others just enough time for your BF to return and drag you out. If you don't manage to stay alive for 5 minutes a cutscene will trigger where you destroy a support beam to block the enemy from getting through to your companions, you die in the crash securing everyone else and going out in a blaze of glory.
If romanced: Your LI yells at you for wanting her to leave and manages to convince you to let her help you hold the line. The rest of your companions helps the civilians escape and return just in time to help you both escape as well.
If married: You gently pad your lover on the stomach telling her she "has someone important to look out for" (hint, hint.) and she tells you to return for "both their sakes!" This sets a counter, the longer you stay alive the bigger the chance is that you will live. If you hold out for (say 5 mins?) before the enemies get the better of you, you buy the others just enough time for your wife to return and drag you out (BF companion pulls at her arm and yells "go get him! We can take care of the rest!") if you don't manage to stay alive for 5 minutes a cutscene will trigger where you destroy a support beam to block the enemy from getting through to your wife, you die in the crash securing everyone else and dieing a hero. After the credits you see a brief scene of your wife standing at a beautiful view by the edge of a field with a infant in her arms.

Well, just an idea again. But mostly somethign that should be able to alter the story but not the outcome completely. (Being able to save everyone, having the possibility to die a legend or live as a hero.)

I know this sounds strange but I sort of wish we could ordain the wedding between past heroes and LI. So ok...you're the inquisitor right? I wish there was a quest where hawk and the warden are involved. And you know their LI are in town but maybe your character doesn't realize they are LI? but you do and you can get them together and see the reunion. And then maybe marry them? I would enjoy that immensely because I sooo wanted an epilogue to DA2. It would be a great way to catch up in the story for new players too (maybe an early quest?). I just really hope this game has an epilogue. And yes I hope the wedding thing can occur.

I support this, so long as it's definitely done right. Skyrim's marriage, while a good concept, wasn't that great.

Granted, Skyrim isn't about the LIs, but it still would've been nice to see some honest effort put into it.

I mean, I love Aela the Huntress. She's a badass and my favorite female character in the game. But the marriage just felt so.... hollow.

Of course, I didn't have much of a crowd there -- due to me just rushing into it because... well... Aela's awesome -- but even afterwards, there are a few things wrong with it.

No honeymoon sex. No matching arms and armor for slaying trolls. No howling at the blood red moon. And no dialogue that opens up after getting married to her.

Props to Donnic for not being the least bit threatened by a strong yet feminine woman. Let's hear it for guys who are secure in their masculinity!
