To those that still hate the ending, how much would an apology do?

Ubiquity does not make something okay.

Then you should have no problem with people thinking BW should apologize for their false marketing, so long as they are consistent and believe every company who false advertises is held to the same standard.

Skyrim is a game with more appeal than ME3, mroe appeal to the general market. Basically any type of gamer can play Skyrim.

Skyrim maybe more popular but it's not because of mainstream appeal. Assuming that was even true Bioware also tried to be as mainstream as possible and failed utterly. The auidence for ME games has barely expanded. It's about the same.

Of course they did. The idea they were promoting, that ME3 was the best place to start, was absolutely ridiculous. I understand why they did that, but it wasn't fooling anyone.

I would just like to interject that Bioware is far from the first dev to claim that the most recent game is the best place to start from.  In fact Ubisoft recently created a video saying AC3 is the best place to start for newcomers.

And I'm not surprised that a complainer would try to represent all the people who enjoy the game as a small group of only a few individuals. See how that works?

Apologize for what? A lot of people like the game as it currently stands, a lot of people don't. I wasn't aware that an artist has to please every single person in the world and automatically owes an apology whenever someone doesn't like what they came up with. If you don't like something, you don't have to like it. Give it a bad review, get a refund, whatever.

6 months after the game was released? Makes sense.

I'm not sure what how I'm supposed to reply here. Do you mean to say you can't give a game a bad review 6 months after release? Because you can. Are you saying that you can't get a refund 6 months after release? That depends on where/who you bought it from. By the same token, 6 months is plenty of feedback to make an informed purchase.

Any apology atthi point would be disingenuous. You know, like "I'm sorry you didn't like our product"." That means nothing. It's like saying "I'm sorry you don't know what you're doing." Or "I'm sorry you're not appealing to me." Basicaly, they're proud of what they think they made. So, yeah, an apology really means nothing. They still have the option of releasing a good ending, they choose not to do that. I'm okay with that choice... I spent the last 5 years praisng them, I'm good with spending he next 5 making fun of that ending. [I'm going on 10 years with phantom menace]

Yes you can. But it's completely pointless. And what magical place is this that it gives a refund after 6 months?

I don't need an apology.

Bioware does. They need to apologize to themselves.

How is it pointless to give your opinion? Isn't that the platform 'Retake' and all those other efforts were built upon, to show exactly how many fans were demanding a better ending?

And who the hell waits 6 months to get a refund on something they don't like? If someone hated something that much, wouldn't they have gotten rid of it by now?

I'd say it's pointless when everyone an and their mum knows about the ending debacle. I'd be adding fuel.

I don't hate ME3 and I waited for the EC (as did many people) in the vain hope that it would make the endings tolerable.
So can you answer my question please?

Hate the ending not the series, there was hope it could be salvaged, and it was for some, not all though.

I'm not entirely sure why anyone feels they deserve an apology. What would they be apologizing for? Not writing a story as we see fit? If that's the case then just write your own story. Authors do have legal rights permitting them to write how they wish.

It's really just not that big of a deal. It's been what? Over a half a year?

In case they felt the burning stare of our hamsters and changed their ways?

Have you tried? It took them whole bloody summer to fix my BF3 issues and about 2 months to fix ME3 issues. Turbo-slugs powered support.

So you propose "forgive and forget" approach?
Just pure curiosity, not for an argument sake.

To be fair, it is a pretty different setting from the other 4. Plus, I'm definitely considering buying it for the half Native main character... Sorry, the last sentence really had nothing to do with anything.

It would be at least somewhat decent, considering their arrogance in PR (most discussed ending ever) and ending treatment(you didn't get it so we'll explain, you idiots).
If it came with a promise of an alternative ending or DLC it'd be gold. Stardock really has the palm here for apologising for Elemental:War of Magic. Did they lose money? Probably. Do they have more loyal customers who will buy their games in the future? Definitely.
