What is your favourite heavy Weapon in Mass Effect 2 & 3?

If you had to pick a heavy weapon for each class, which would you choose?

Favourite overall heavy weapon.

Collector Particle Beam (little wonder that Prothean particle beam is my favourite assault rifle).

For the Adept: Arc Projector: Getting rid of those shilelds can be a bummer. Arc Projector handles those well. So all I have to do is concentrate on my biotic powers.

For the Engineer: Collector Particle Beam. Nothing like sending a beam of hell tear apart every foe that stands in your way.

For the Soldier: Want something that packs a punch. I'll go for the ML-77 Missile Launcher.

For the Infiltrator: The Collector Particle Beam. Looks cool. Also a great way of dishing out a lot of damage quickly.

For the Vanguard: Firestorm. Because when you're coming out of biotic charge, you have a close ranged weapon is very helpful.

For the Sentinel: Once again. Collector Particle Beam. Rounds of an already versatile class quite nicely.

Claymore. It hits harder than most of the heavy weapons.

Other than that, the Avalanche. Freeze everybody.

Revenant with Inferno Ammo in ME2 or Incendiary Explosive Burst in ME3 is a better flamethrower than the Firestorm.

To answer the question you really want answered, in ME3 I don't think there are enough that I can call any my favorite.  They really all just sort of behave as a little boost to your damage in some part of the game.

In ME2 it was a bit different as they were more varied and you could equip them the whole game.  There I liked the following:

Grenade Launcher: Simple, looked good on your back, and you didn't have to have direct line of sight.
Collector Beam: Very Accurate and is the best versus the baby Reaper IMO.
Arc Projector: I like this more for busting a horde of melee enemies rather than busting shields (I had Garrus and Miranda for that).  Plus I could do this.

I never really liked the Avalanche, although it works pretty well.

When I initally saw the grenade launcher on Shepards back in Mass Effect 2, I thought (cool that's Shepard's futuristic backpack).

Nope it was the Grenade Launcher.

The thing about heavy weapons was that ammo was limited (which was a good thing). So I would save these weapons for boss battles. The Arc Projector was useful on the vanguard. Whenever that praetorian started shooting at me, I had a useful long ranged weapon.

Spitfire (not sure if this fares well against banshees though), Blackstar (used it on Palaven moon, killed two brutes with a single shot), Cain (used the spare one on site to finish the banshee off)

The Blackstorm is awesome in ME2. I love shooting it at a group of enemies, it lifts any unarmored/ unshielded enemies off the ground and then explodes, doing tons of damage to everything in the vicinity. Too bad it was a gamestop exclusive.

Singularity + Warp (or other detonating biotic power) = poor man's blackstorm

Shame I never had that weapon in ME 2 either. Needed some kind of DLC I guess.

I think I used the missile launcher the most really, though the Collector Particle Rifle was handy against Pretorians. Missiles were useful to lure some enemies out. Otherwise grenade launcher was a laugh, and Cain useful against the Proto-reaper and Thresher.

Never used the firestorm or avalanche, used the Arc projector once I think. The ME3 ones have even less use to me, except the targeter on Rannoch (since you don't get a choice)

I personally prefer the M-490 Blackstorm - very useful once getting used to it. The Particle Rifle is very neat, but it's too powerful for my taste, so I barely use it. I often actually change it right after I found it.

My absolute favorite would be the M-920 Cain, but it's rather useless in the harder missions, so I very rarely take it with me.

The Arc Projector was my favourite - it basically combined the Overload power with powerful single-shot cannon like the Grenade Launcher. It was the only heavy weapon that really combined practicality and style, as most of them were one or the other.

I don't really understand what the heavy weapons were supposed to do in ME3. Aside from the Targeting laser they played such a small part that the player could easily miss them altogether if they weren't careful. I liked the design of the Hydra, though.

In ME2 I rocked the Avalanche the most, though the Arc Projector, Cain and Missile Launcher were great too. They didn't all the greatest damage, but they all did something very useful that other weapons / abilities couldn't or couldn't do as efficiently.

ME3's Heavy Weapons are weird in that they are pretty much fed to you rather than being things you'd take by choice. The worst thing about it was that you'd often be forced to use them to get past a certain scripted event, rather than use them out of tactical choice. Also, BEs/TBs could clear mobs better and safer in those few sequences where BW gives you a Blackstorm/Hydra.

In ME2 it was the Arc Projector.  Although the damage was really good the best part was its ability to stun enemies.  If I needed to slow up an attack it worked wonders against a clustered group of baddies.  Also I thought it looked the best folded up on Shep's back.

In ME3. . .can I pick the Hydra from MP?  Either that or the black star.

Arc Projector rulles!

The Collector Particle Beam I can live without.
I have the Prothean Particle beam, that is the same but with infinite ammo and a green beam.

Surely the best thing about the Arc Projector was fun with Pyros on Omega and Tuchanka? Using it on the long corridors on Mordin's recruitment mission at the air filter thing was entertaining.

On Legion's Loyalty Mission (Heretic Station), Arc projector + 2 AI Hacking abilities (or 3 if you were an Engineer or Infiltrator) made that last fight at the Geth server a real joke.
Avalanche on the Collector Platforms was immense fun, especially if you happened to pre-freeze Harbinger. "Assuming Control of this Collector popsicle!"

The Arc Projector was THE heavy weapon to bring for Arrival. Nothing could CC and strip shields as prolifically as that thing.

The Avalanche was awesome for LotSB b/c of how fast it could debuff the SB troops on the Azure parking lot.

The Missile Launcher also made Aria's quest a lot simplier. :)

The Arc Projector and Avalanche are my go-to heavy weapons in ME2. I use the Cain only when I was sure I need it. I use these three heavy weapons for every class I play as in ME2, they're that useful.

For ME3, I enjoy the Spitfire and Blackstar greatly when I find them.
