TL;DR

In this dlc Shepard will aid other Spectres on personal missions to gain their aid in retaking Earth, gaining access to a training facility, new weapons, new Spectre armor, and working with other Spectres while retuning to Virmire, Ilos, and visiting Shanxi.

                                                                        Detailed DLC Outline

Beginning

After you complete Priority:Citadel II, you receive a message that the Council wants to speak with you. You travel to the Citadel and when you arrive Bailey will direct you to the Citadel Tower to meet with the Council. During the meeting the Council informs you that due to the Reaper invasion the Spectres are needed now more than ever and that is why the Council has set up a top secret facility for which the Spectres can train as well as offer assistance to each other. This station was used when the Spectres were originally founded as a base of operations for them. The Council sends the coordinates to the Normandy and you can head there as soon as you’d like.

Ledavious Fortress

You next head to Ledavious Fortress on the Asari world Zesmeni in the Crescent Nebula. As you arrive at the station you go through a security room, verifying your Spectre Status and enter the main station where you are met by Salarian Spectre. He introduces himself as Dagnes Linron. He has been looking forward to meeting you and tells you about the fortress. Named after the first Spectre Aliza Ledavious the fortress has been the secret facility for the Spectres since their founding as a training, research, and meeting place for the Spectres. Many Spectres are here now offering assistance to each other and preparing for battles to come. He ends the conversation by saying that he would like you to meet him in the intelligence center of the fortress when you get the chance. You then have the option to continue roaming the fortress before meeting Dagnus. You can go to the training center (similar to Pinnacle Station) and talk to Spectres in the fortress. Jondum Bau (if alive) will be available to talk to as well as the Virmire Survivor (if they are alive). You then go to the intelligence center and speak to Dagnus.

Spectre Mission I: Dagnus Linron

Dagnus tells you that he knows you will need help retaking earth and he will help you but there is a matter in which he needs to take care of first but needs your help. He tells you that he has been tracking down a group of Spectres who are believed to have been indoctrinated for the last few months. He learned that they were recently on Virmire. A STG soldier Captain Rentola (previously Commander Rentola in ME1) have been helping him with the situation by tracking the indoctrinated Spectres. He hasn’t heard from the team in a while and thinks something may have happened to them. You then head to Virmire where Dagnus will meet you. (If the Virmire Survivor is still alive they will be a mandatory squadmate). The Normandy takes you off to Virmire.

Spectre Mission I: Return to Virmire

As you prepare to head down to the shuttle the VS comes up to you and says that they are going with you. They owe that much (referencing the squadmate left behind). During the shuttle trip you have a moment with the VS survivor, where you both just look at each other for a minute then Shepard nods and says “I know”. Cortez drops you off at the meeting point when Dagnus is waiting for you with a small team of STG. He says that up the terrain is wide open up ahead and they will be taking vehicles (choice between M35 Mako or M-44 Hammerhead) into the battlefield ahead. After your vehicle choice you start down a path following Dagnus (he’s in whicher vehicle you didn’t choose). As you are traveling down the path you get attacked by husks and indoctrinated Salarians. You finally make your way to the Salarian STG soldiers who were tracking the indoctrinated Spectres camp. You and Dagnus hop out of your vehicles to search the camp. The VS (if alive) notices how this is the same part of Virmire where Kirrahe and his team set up base before you assaulted Saren’s base. You then search the camp for any clues as to what happened to the scout team when a recording. You call over Dagnus and listen to the recording and Captain Rentola states that it’s their 5th week tracking the suspects and they learned that they are doing something at the remains of the facility Saren was using 3 years ago. He and his team are going to try to figure out what is going on and get more intel on the situation. The recording then ends. Dagnus explains that it is custom for STG spy teams to leave updates hidden in their camps in case something goes wrong on their mission. You then make your way to the remains of the cloning facility.

Spectre Mission I: Road to the Cloning Facility

As you prepare to enter the vehicle to go to Saren’s facility the VS (if alive) tells you that they are still haunted about what happened that day and that they never thought to be returning. You can respond either in a positive or negative way (same here, or get over it). After the cutscene you enter your vehicle and continue down the path. As you near the ruins of the facility 2 atlases controlled by indoctrinated Salarians start to attack you. After you and Dagnus take them out using the Mako/Hammerhead, you both exit your vehicles and see a wounded salarian. It’s a young STG soldier who tells you that his squad was caught while sneaking around gathering intel. The rest of the team was killed except for Captain Rentola. He was taken by the indoctrinated Spectres to their base. He tells you that there is an entrance to their base buried in the rubble of Saren’s facility. Dagnus takes care of the STG soldier while you search for the entrance. As you are searching through the rubble you are able to find the squad you left behind’s dod tags. If the VS is alive you will have a scene with them where you will give them the tags which will later be put on the memorial wall next to their name. You then continue searching through the rubble and find the entrance.

Spectre Mission I: Indoctrinated Base

You enter the base with Dagnus and reach a split path. He tells you that he and his team will go one way and you go the other. You then set down your path (choice between left path or right path), and fight your way to the central chamber. When you enter the central chamber you will either appear in an upper level point or down on the main level depending on which path you chose. You see the one of the indoctrinated Spectres holding Rentola at gunpoint. If on the upper level you can shoot the Spectre without being seen but if you are on the lower level Dagnus will shoot him. After you save Rentola he tells you that the Spectres are here because of Sovereign 3 years ago. Dagnus says that this was one of the same Spectres that the Council sent to Virmire after the events there 3 years ago. As Dagnus is talking you see the last Spectre walking jump from the upper level down to the lower level. He looks like a mix between a Salarian Husk and Saren after Sovereign took control of him. He says that the he cannot allow you to leave because the Reapers must be victorious. You then see him call out multiple geth hoppers and then the fight begins. After the battle the indoctrinated Spectre lets out one last sentence and says “I’m sorry, I fought but I couldn’t...” and dies. Dagnus tells you that with your help completing his mission you will gain his aid in retaking Earth. Rentola tells you that he will return to Sur’Kesh and rally whatever troops he can as a thank you for saving his life.

Spectre Mission I: Rewards

EMS: Salarian- Rentola’s Resistance (the troops Rentola convinced to aid you) 40 points
Alien- Spectre Unit (if received from Jondum Bau) updates to 60 points (was 40) for Dagnus Linron
Alien- Spectre Unit (if Jondum Bau was killed) 20 points for Dagnus Linron.
New weapons unlocked at Ledavious Fortress

Return to Ledavious Fortress

You then return to Ledavious Station. You can decide to train, or speak with the Spectres there (Jondum Bau, VS, Dagnus Linron). When you go to leave there will be a Spectre waiting for you. You will speak to him and he introduces himself as Caldus Corvax and that he wants to let you know that he is sorry to hear about Earth and would like to help but right now there is an urgent matter that he needs your help with. Primarch Victus has sent him an important message and wants him to meet him and the Turian Councilor on the Citadel and to bring Shepard. Caldus tells you that he has no idea why they want them to meet them but it must be important. You will then head to the Citadel for the meeting.

Spectre Mission II: Caldus Corvax

As you arrive at the Citadel Commander Bailey meets you to bring you to the Turian Councilor and Primarch Victus. You arrive at the Citadel Tower where you see Caldus with the Councilor and Primarch. As you approach them the Councilor is yelling at Victus and you hear “they are the only reason we haven’t lost Palaven. We promised to aid each other and this is how you act as!...Oh, Shepard”. The Primarch turns to you and tells you that he messed up big time and if something isn’t done the Human-Turian alliance will be blown to hell. You ask what exactly is going on and the Turian Councilor tells you that the Primarch let a group of Turian Extremist got their hands on a top secret government file dating back to the First Contact War. After the war ended the Turians and Batarians hatched a plan to deal with the Humans if they ever got out of line by planting a nuke on Shanxi. After Elysium the Batarians tried to convince the Turians that it was time to activate the nuke and they had Saren bring it up to the council but they denied him stating that the Humans have not done anything wrong but are settling colonies the the space the council provided. The Primarch tells you that somebody high up in the hierarchy was angry about the providing aid to Earth when our own planet is burning and took a team of Turians and Batarians to Shanxi and break the alliance. Caldus asks you is the Turian leading the group but the Primarch says he is not sure. The Turian Councilor tells you not to pass this information along to Hackett or things can get out of hand. You then return to the Normandy and head to Shanxi.

Spectre Mission II: Shanxi

You return to the Normandy and head to Shanxi. A cutscene appears where you are up on the bridge with Joker and he says “Good to know that the Krogan weren’t the only ones. Now we just need to find the Reaper homeworld and plant a bomb there to blow up in a few years”. If Ashley is the VS and still alive she will want to come on the mission since her grandfather was the one to surrender in the First Contact War. You don’t have to bring her along though. You then get on the shuttle and head to Shanxi with Caldus. You land near a spot that Caldus recommends and exit the shuttle and meet a group of turians who Caldus arranged to meet him there led by General Corinthus (the general from Menae). The general greets you and says that the Primarch sent him here to aid you. He states that from what he was told the nuke should be not far from here but there is heavy resistance in the valley up ahead.

Spectre Mission II: Death Valley

You begin your charge through the valley along with Caldus and Corinthus. There are enormous enemy forces of Turian, Batarian, and even Cerberus troops. (In this section of the mission Corinthus and his men as well as Caldus will all be part squadmates, meaning they will have health bars but you can’t activate their powers/control them in any way but they will fight alongside you). Towards the end of your push across Death Valley Caldus gets injured and falls to the ground. A nearby enemy prepares to put the final shot into Caldus but either you have a renegade interrupt and shoot the enemy before Caldus gets shot or Corinthus jumps in the way of the shot sacrificing himself for Caldus and then you shoot the enemy. After either event you rush over to Caldus and use medi-gel to help get him up on his feet, Then you finish your push across the Valley. Finally you come to a chasm where the nuke was dug up.

Spectre Mission II: Nuke Site

As you enter the nuke site you see a Batarian standing on top of the nuke. He says that he was sent by the real man in charge to make sure this nuke goes off suicide or not. You then have a brief conversation with him as you try to talk him down. He says that he is Lorek Adek and he was hired to detonate the bomb at all costs in order to prevent the Humans from taking over. You ask him who hired him and he says it doesn’t matter because once this nuke goes off you will all be dead. If you have high Paragon/Renegade scores dialogue options will reveal where you can talk him down but if not you distract him long enough for Caldus to shoot him. If you talked him down he tells you that Chellick must be stopped or if Caldus shoots him he will die saying Chellick won’t be defeated. After these events Caldus recommends you getting to the Citadel and find Chellick while he and the rest of his men disarm the nuke.

Spectre Mission II: Chellick

You return to the Citadel and get to Bailey’s office to tell him what happened. As you enter the office Chellick is holding Bailey at gunpoint. You have a conversation with him where he says that when he heard about you tricking the Turian government to use ships on your homeworld instead of their own he knew he had to take action. You have the option to talk bailey down through a paragon interrupt or shoot him through a renegade interrupt (both icons appear at the same time). If you talk him down Bailey will arrest him. After this mission Bailey will get promoted to Executor Bailey taking Chellick’s job. The Turian Councilor informs you that Caldus sent a message stating that the bomb has been defused and he wishes to meet you at Ledavious Fortress.

Spectre Mission II: Rewards

EMS: Alien- Spectre Unit (if received from Jondum Bau) will increase to 80 points with Caldus Corvax added
Alien- Spectre Unit (if Jondum Bau was killed) will increase to 40 points for Caldus Corvax
Turian- General Corinthus (if survived) for 20 points
Alien- Batarian Fleet updates by 10 points (if Lorek Adek survived)
Special Spectre suit of Armor available at Ledavious Fortress

Return to Ledavious Fortress

You return to the Fortress and meet Caldus there. He informs you that the mission was a success and he will now be free to help you retake Earth as promised. You then have the option to talk to any of the Spectres there (VS, Jondum Bau, Dagnus, Caldus) or go upgrade weapons and use the training facility. As you prepare to leave the Fortress the security personnel tells you that somebody is waiting for you in the intel center. You can either leave or head to the intel center. When you enter the intel center an Asari Spectre greets you and introduces herself as Alia Vasir.

Spectre Mission III: Alia Vasir

She says that her sister was Tela Vasir and she is not angry about you killing her. She knew what her sister did and would have killed her herself had she been given the chance. She goes on to tell you to tell you that she has been informed that on the former Prothean world Ilos a research team has found traces of an extinct race older than the Protheans and possibly found some data that could help with the Crucible. She asks for your help because she believes that the Crucible is their only hope for winning this war and the more intel they have the better. You and Alia return to the Normandy (she will be in the War Room to talk to) and prepare for your trip to Ilos. When you select Ilos as your destination Joker makes a comment about the events of ME1 and Javik (if From Ashes was completed) requests to come on the mission as the scene changes to the trip on the shuttle down to Ilos.

Spectre Mission III: Return to Ilos

During the Shuttle trip to Ilos, Javik suggests that you find out if there are any stasis pods still active. You can either tell him they are all dead or that it is possible but unlikely. You land on Ilos near the elevator leading to the control room and before the entrance to the tunnels from ME1 and meet the team that uncovered the ancient data. Alia meets with the team leader, an Asari named Alestia. Alestia tells you that they were down in the control room but geth appeared and the team was overrun. She managed to get out in time to meet you here but the rest of the team didn’t make it. The geth in the control room have sabotaged the door leading to the the data site and there is no other way to enter. You and Alia enter the elevator leading to the control room.

Spectre Mission III: Control Room

You enter the control room and see that it is full of geth troops like the geth under Sovereign’s control (geth hoppers, armatures, etc.) After you fight your way to the control panel to open the doors Reaper forces appear on the level below. You fight to the elevator against Brutes and Banshees and while you are in the elevator Cortez tells you that hordes of Reaper forces have appeared on the planet and he left. Alestia said she was staying behind to wait for you but she may be overrun shortly. You exit the elevator and have to fight a mix of Reaper forces and Geth. After you defeated them Alestia (who was gravely injured during the fight) tells you that when the doors for the tunnels opened enemies were waiting to attack. She then tells you that there is a Mako to use traveling through the tunnels but it may have been damaged. Alestia then dies from her injuries. Alia checks out the Mako and says that minor repairs are needed. Watch her back while she makes the repairs. You then have to hold off enemies until Alia finishes the repairs. After the repairs are complete you get into the Mako and begin your trip through the tunnels.

Spectre Mission III: Ilos Tunnels

You enter the tunnels and are free from enemies. If present, Javik will comment about what he has heard about the planet and about all the Prothean stasis pods that are dead now. As you are traveling down the tunnels you see dead Asari bodies likely belonging to the research team. You exit the Mako and realize that this is the same area where the elevator led you to Vigil. You enter the elevator and travel down to Vigil. You see Vigil standing there, somehow still running. It says that it always expected that you would return and has been saving energy until that day (If Javik is present there will be special dialogue between the him and Vigil). Vigil goes on to say that since the day they last talked it has learned that the cycle has begun again and the Crucible needs to be completed. You then ask Vigil if he knows anything that could help and Vigil responds saying that in the previous cycle the Protheans found ruins of an extinct race called the Inusannon’s. They lived on this world long ago and his cycle attempted to build the crucible and learned some secrets about it that could have saved the Protheans had they been able to retrieve the intel sooner. Vigil starts to fade away and says that it’s power is almost completely gone. As it fades out, it says beyond the Conduit. After the conversation you head back up to the Mako and begin a charge to the Conduit.

Spectre Mission III: Beyond the Conduit

You return to the Mako and begin your run to the Conduit. You run into more old geth and reaper troops along the way. As you near the conduit you see it badly damaged. You continue to fight enemies and after they are defeated you exit the Mako and search the area around the Conduit. There is an opening behind the Conduit that may be what Vigil spoke of. You enter down the small opening and everybody else stay behind to hold off enemy forces. You search through the ruins below the Conduit and find some old panel that is still active. You record what you can on your Omni-Tool and look around to see any other intel. An artifact in the corner catches your eye and you pick it up and exit the underground opening. As you resurface the area is under attack by Reaper ground troops and geth. You radio Cortez and tell him you need extraction asap. You then have to hold off a couple waves of enemies while the shuttle reaches you. After Cortez arrives you return to the Normandy.

Spectre Mission III: Aftermath

You send all data you recovered when Hackett becomes available on vid comm. Hackett tells you that the data is being heavily analyzed but from what they were able to decipher the Insuannon’s were very close to finishing the crucible and if the Protheans have found this data sooner it may have been completed. The artifact you found in the room is identified in the data as ‘The Key’. The Protheans must have built this component but before they were able to get word to the group building the crucible they were defeated. The team is looking to find out what ‘The Key’ will do but it looks like the rest of the data will help them too. You then return to Ledavious Fortress and Alia tells you that she pledges her aid to you in retaking Earth.

Spectre Mission III: Rewards

EMS: Alien- Spectre Unit (if received from Jondum Bau) increases to 100 points for Alia Vasir.
Alien- Spectre Unit (if Jondum Bau was killed) increases to 60 points for Alia Vasir
Crucible- 100 points for Insuannon Intel.
New Weapon Mods available at Ledavious Fortress.
Improved Spectre Armor available at Ledavious Fortress

Ledavious Fortress Afterwards

Ledavious Fortress can still be used to train, purchase more weapons and armor, as well as converse with the Spectres there.

Effects on Priority:Earth

During Priority:Earth when you arrive at the London base of operations where you say your goodbyes to your squad, the Spectre group will be available to speak to (Dagnus Linron, Caldus Corvax, Alia Vasir, and if alive Jondum Bau). When you speak to the group they will tell you that they have gathered as many fellow Spectres as they can and are here to help stop the Reapers at all costs.

First of all, giant wall of text is giant wall of text.
second of all, from what I read the first problem is that spectres work alone. Granted I did not get very far, because of the formatting.

I'd buy it, sounds like it would be alot of fun, and allowing us to return to Illos and Virmie is a great, there should be a huge twist in there though, but its still a great idea!!

That's all? I thought you were going more for an expansion pack.
I'd prefer a well written fully developed story other than something slapped on.

I tried to go into some detail with the missions themselves, that's why the post is so long but yeah I guess it could be turned into sort of an expansion. Throw in a lot of side missions and have those 3 missions as the main parts of it or something like that.

Okay, so with the new formatting, I have gotten farther. The first gripe is that unlike the krogan, we have ships in orbit around shanxi, so there is no way the turians and Batarians could have planted a bomb. Secondly, Vigil could not know about the crucible, as the protheans on Illos went into cryo almost immediately after the reaper invasion, and the crucible plans had not been discovered by then otherwise they would have had plenty of time to build the crucible and use it (the protheans lasted several centuries).

Space Magic lol jk

about the bomb, it would have been placed there shortly after the war or possible during the war when Turians occupied Shanxi or something like that.

with Vigil, I tried to tie it in there somewhere. I agree it wouldn't make much sense but then again a lot in ME3 goes against what we thought in ME1 and ME2 so...

I was thinking, and I realized that instead of giving us a crucible upgrade, maybe Vigil could give us a way to control the mass relays, and either lock the reapers out or send them all into either darkspace or star cores.:P
