No i am against having horses for no apparent reason whatsoever because someone had to complain.

kidding.

That's just the way half of these threads on BSN go, though, right? heh.

(yes a horse would be fun)

I don't mind them making an appearance, as Templars and Seekers rode on them in Dawn of the Seeker. I do not see the point of owning a horse in game though, and think they should only really be used for scenes, not actual game play.

I assume horses exist in the Dragon Age world because I don't remember seeing a single horse in DAO or DA2. Sure, there are the Hala but...it ain't the same. If they do exist it's equally perplexing as to why they were not used during the wars in Ferelden. A mounted cavalry unit would would have given a huge tactical advantage....weird or it's probably a technical limitation compounded by my limited skills at commpletely suspending my disbelief.

I've got the only horse I need in Skyrim. His name is Shadowmere.

Oh, come on, you had to know someone was going to make a Skyrim reference. Heehee. Posted Image

Having a mount in a game is great. Every now and then, I wax nostalgic about riding on a sabre tooth cat in Sacred 2. But having a horse, and being able to fight while riding it. Yeah, that's fun.

I demand horse romance. Otherwise I will deem the game as intolerant.

Hey there's already been plenty of riding in Dragon Age. You just don't see it because the screen is faded to black at the time.

Honestly, at this point, I think showing a horse, letting the player get said horse and then fading to black just before they start to ride it would be golden.

Only if the horse was wearing a mask before you romanced it.

Horses were actually mentioned in DA:O if you say the right thing to the elf watching over the halla in the Dalish camp.

I don't think having a horse is going to help. The areas in the game have always been too small to ride in, They did mention in the game that mounted Chevaliers where turned back at the border, Maybe the Fereldons didn't have any mounted cavalry units. The would also have done better at Ostagar if they had tactics like the Roman line or even Greek phalanx. In that small area they would have lasted a lot longer, but it wouldn't have made sense story wise.

I don't see how horse traveling would work for Dragon Age, as you do all your traveling on the map.

Neigh I say, NEIGH!

Now I shall canter off into the sunset before I start chomping on the bit. And no galloping around the pool especially after eating a lot of hay. And always be wary of the poorly lit bridle path, you never know if a horse thief may be lurking.
