As the type of gamer who almost always wants a challenge in games, I don't cheat until I don't care about the difficulty anymore, for hilarious purposes or when there's a part of the game I really cannot stand, as Origins's Fade section.
Do you cheat in games? If so, is there any type of cheat you don't use or some kind of cheat (infinite health, for example) you refuse to activate? If you don't use them, why is that?

Never. If I do, then I will just get bored of the game. I like the challenge as that is what keeps me playing. (Also, I like achievements. Some games prohibit achievement earning if you enter cheats.)

Yeah. I cheated so much in Warcraft and Starcraft. Single Player, of course.

Never if it's because I can't beat something. But in like GTA: SA I always use flying cars and the other cheats that make it more fun.

Only for the "for fun" kind of cheats, or if I've beaten the game multiple times and just want to screw around. I remember some older games rewarded you with cheats for doing well, like GoldenEye and Perfect Dark.

Yeah...I got cheat codes for GTA4, to lose notoriety, and unlock all guns and cars. For shame.

The only real cheat/exploit I've used in recent memory was the old W-Item trick from Final Fantasy 7. Because infinite elixirs is fun.
But during the nes-snes era, gimme dat level select and infinite lives. I only rented games back then, didn't have much time to experience every single thing the games had to offer.

In ME2 the scanning really gets tiresome, so I just add the resources with a saved game editor.

I usually play my games by dev rules the first time around despite the combat feeling rather tedious and repetitive. After that I engage god mode and play my way - one shot, one kill. Unlike some people, I never get bored of that and have replayed my favorite games many times that way.
I don't cheat in MP games, though I did play Diablo on B.net using hacks designed to protect me from player-killer hackers.

Rarely, only if a game is ridiculously hard.

In the playthrough before the current one of DAO, I used console commands to give my Dalish elf PC all of the pieces of the ancient elven armour from the start. She looked awesome. I remain unrepentant.

Sure. I'll use cheats on KotOR or Neverwinter Nights to make my character's stats match those of one of my D&D characters. Or save editors in Baldur's Gate.

I used to cheat in games when I was younger. I could get angry at games very quickly, so to cheat was a way of avoiding that.
Nowadays I rarely cheat. The last time I did that was to kill a YMIR in Mass Effect 2 when standing inside a metal shack on Freedom's Progress.

Sometimes I cheat, when I get stuck. Though many years ago when I had wayyy more games (on my dad's Amiga) I'd play godmode in certain games quite frequently.
I could never imagine finishing Shadow of the Beast II, The Killing Gameshow or Flood without cheating. Bloody games were tough. XD

Only if I've beaten the game already, or just using them to screw around and do funny/cool things.
EDIT: Oh wait, I lied. I cheat when I play The Sims. Spending all that time going to work to get money? Pffft, ain't nobody got time for that!

I don't really use them anymore, but I used to almost exclusively play Turok and Turok 2 with cheats. I typically only used the bonus weapon cheats in Goldeneye.

I cheat at cards, I cheat at sports, but I never really cheat in games. Nothing major anyway, the occassional glitch in Halo on Legendary but thats about it and they only really produce an extra DMR at most. Does threatening people with stares during MP matches count as cheating?
