In ME2 the scanning really gets tiresome, so I just add the resources with a saved game editor. :)

Oh Angry you big cheat :P

Ghehe. Nah. I play games for fun. If I don't think a part of the game is fun then I try to find ways to get the fun back in, like I did with ME2. I don't feel guilty about that and I do not care what other people think when it is a SP game.

As a Completionist gamer, I MUST buy every single magic item that catches my fancy in stores, and learn every single possible skill in the game. As such, this means I usually end up giving myself a ludicrous amount of money and extra skill points/XP to allow me to learn every single skill by the game's level cap.

I don't usually use invincibility cheats unless I get really, really stuck at a game and can't move forward. This usually happens in RTS games, because as the aforementioned Completionist gamer, I MUST build every single structure/upgrade in a map regardless of how useless a particular upgrade or unit is for that level. This means that I usually take so long to beat a map that the AI would steamroll me with a massive army while I still only have grunt-level troops.

I usually cheat at mini games: in Fallout I'll force the lock and reload rather than mess around with bobby pins, and if there's a puzzle in a game that I can't solve within about two minutes I'll hit the wiki. I don't have time for crap like this; I don't want to near the end of a quest and find I have to complete an actual physical million piece before I get the magic sword.

I never cheat anymore, i want the challenge. I did cheat back when i was younger and had problems with certain things in games. Back then it was to enjoy games and not like now when i sometimes wish the games actually were harder

Depends on whether the cheat will make the game less dynamic, or more.

A cheat that makes my character one-shots everything? Why the hell would I do that?
On the other hand, a cheat that allows me to skip the boring introductory chapter zero/one of quite a few games (which, I might have played for quite a few times already) and test my character build directly against real enemies / dive into the place where story really start to unfold? I'll do that.

Well, I always play on easy because I am terrible at games, but I never cheat not even in a GTA game.

I only play single-player games. There is no such thing as cheating.

I only cheat when I want to get to a certain part of a game, then when I get there I stop.

The only games I've cheated in were GTA games, but they were the really funny cheats. Pedestrian riots cheat was hilarious as was the tank. GTA: IV had sucky cheats. I can't believe they didn't at least add Ped. Riots...

The only game I've cheated in recently was for the final mission in Saints Row 2. I used to use cheat codes etc a lot when I was younger but these days I prefer to look up walkthroughs and guides etc if I get stuck.

No I don't cheat in games if I end up getting stuck I'll move to a different game for a bit or I'll get the game guide to help out.

Depends on game and reason for it.

For example in GTA I cheat for fun.
In ME2 I cheated to stop mineral scanning and to hack for credits( I really don't like those mini games).

Yes I do. A lot of the times I cheat even before playing the game so I don't get stuck. I don't normally have the time to sit there and ponder on how to solve the next puzzle. using the internet to help me out speeds the game up and I still enjoy it all the same.

I cheat in some singleplayer games, but only if I already completed it or feel the gameplay is so frustrating that I won't complete it without cheating.

I never cheat in multiplayer games, and I have zero tolerance for people who do.

Yep, if I get bored of the gameplay but want to keep progressing (not on the first playthough, mind), sometimes the novelty cheats (like the GTA ones back when GTA was fun), or to avoid a grind (like the ME2 resources).

I also cheese game mechanics wherever I see the opportunity (like putting force field on the tank right after they taunt during DAO dragon fights to take 0 damage, or repeatedly talking to dragons in BG so they never attack you, there something about Bioware and dragons..) because there's something hugely satisfying about "beating" the game, at least for a time. It's also a bit of a learning experience since game design is something I'm interested in.

I only cheat to get past game-breaking bugs. But that's not really cheating.

Did the infinite speech check thing for xp in Fallout New Vegas once, but only because I bought the DLC and wanted to try it, with fresh character, so was quick way to level up.

I only do it when I'm stuck at some point like during some sort of puzzle.

The only games I cheat in are Sims (sometimes, not always), and I also used to cheat in GTA San Andreas... Has been a while though since that one came out & haven't cheated since then.
