The story would't make any sense without Hawke .

No, Hawke's story is done, just like the wardens.

Hell no. At best he should be the Warden's waterboy

Regardles of whether you like or hate Hawke he is still very good at his profession just like the Warden, hard to believe they wouldn't be moving up in the world while this Inquisitor guy starts from level one and begins his own journey to power.

The story will be a total mess come DA 4 if they don't resolve this issue because they'll need to intergrate Wardens, Hawkes and Inquisitors... unless they want to continue the messy story and just have the Inquisitor disappear too, perhaps he can end up trapped under rubble and give a half breath?

I'd love to explain the issue with the story by placing a Warden and Hawke toy on a table "hmm, mate I'm not sure how I'm going to tie these games together...  stuff it" (throwing them over my shoulder) "they disappeared".

Well while i have to say i was disppointed there wasn't the xpansion to bring the proper extended closure for Hawke, i don't think he should be a major character in DA3. DA3 is about a new protaganist and a cameo or just closure in the story for Hawke is the best he/she should get. I certainly don't want Hawke being turned into an NPC.

Honestly, no. I'm perfectly happy to jump into a different character's head every game, even though I love my wardens and Hawkes. I can't help but feel like bringing these characters back but not controlling them would just be hugely disappointing, like with the KoTOR/SWTOR games and Revan.

I would like to hear where they disappeared to, but that could be told to my new character by an NPC or even put in the codex.

We left off DA2 with Hawke gone, can't be found. If DA3 starts where DA2 left off then Hawke would once again be the main character, they were searching for Hawke after all to help bring about peace in DA2's closing, right?. Either way they go about it, Hawke should at least be alluded to, same as the Warden was in DA2.

A well reasoned cameo, sure. A major role, no!

I could go either way, pretty sure hawke'll show up in DA3 regardless though, idealy i'd like to have Hawke as a companion only charecter, would be interesting to see how each version of hawke would work out based on the personailty selections & throw in a romance option for the lolz of it

Buuuuuuuut that's expecting way too much compitance from bioware

Good at his profession? Well, I guess, if you draw the line at "bum around Kirkwall, doing odd-jobs for cash".

Keeping the peace - no
Defusing factional tensions - no
Stopping his numbskull companions from making things worse - no
Looking out for his family - Hell no.

I kinda hope one of the various groups hunting him down will stuff him in a sack and throw it off a brdge.

I would like to be investigating clues on her wareabouts and the wardens for that matter, I think the main pc this time round will be thinking that she/he will need help from past heros in order to bring this silly war down

No. Not unless they're player controlled, which they won't be.

I wholeheartedly believe that Bioware's whole intention for Hawke's character was to make it so that in experiencing his or her story the choices you made were more so meant to define the character and not the world. The reason for this was so that Hawke could eventually become his or her own character that we potentially created to some degree and would play a vital role as an NPC. We would essentially have created a separate character and their personality that we no longer control. Hawke will basically play out depending on how he or she was formed by the player in DA2.

Hawke (and the Warden, both) should have no role in DA3 at all.

Sure. After all, Hawke managed to stop the conflict between mages and templars....oh wait, he failed to do it .
Jokes aside, I think he should be left behind, as the Warden. If he has major in the next game, there's a possibility that he'll act in a way that the players don't want, and this will ****** off the players (imagine if someone roleplayed a Hawke that was pro-mage and wanted to destroy the Templars and/or the Chantry, and Hawke in DA3 is a key player for reaching a peace between the three factions).

Well, seeing how he helped ignite the Templar/Mage war, I would certainly hope so.

Same here. Hawke and Anders were there at the start. They should show up on DA3

I sincerely hope miss Hawke has a minor or completely irrelevant role or cameo in DA3.

My Hawke is laying low somewhere. With Anders. I don't think she'd want to drag herself into another battle, unless it was self-defence. Though she might if it involved Sebastian...

Anders would not agree to lay low.

Unless there was a very good reason, like protect a Hawke pregnant with his kid

No.

I also think it would be out of character for Hawke.
